Start of an OBE?

I was taking a nap one time and I was drifting in and out of sleep. I was concentrating on something in my mind after I had woken up to fall asleep. When I woke up again, I heard these noises in my ears and I felt vibrations in my body. I tried to move but couldn't, and I realized I was in SP.

The most distinct feature of this experience was the noise in my ears. I tried to intensify them and felt that there was static electricity in my ears and they grew louder and louder. It was a strange experience, but I got afraid of what I would see, and despite my efforts to visualize myself looking down at my body, nothing worked so I stopped. Is this how the OBE starts? What are the easiest ways to start OBE and keep it? (I've read tons of guides but nothing worked. This happened out of the blue.)

I can tell you how it started for me.

I had what I thought was a "false awakening" and got lucid. I realised I was in SP lying on my bed where I had lain down in the afternoon for a nap. (Best time for me to LD btw).

I couldn't move much, only my head from side-to-side.

Then, a disembodied voice said: "Breathing. Try your breathing.." (I had been learning a certain breathing technique for meditation).

So.. I took the first breath in, and as I did so, I was amazed to see a "ghost leg" rise up out of my real left leg and hang in the air. As I breathed in again, a "ghost leg" rose up from my right leg, and also hung in the air. There I was, lying in SP, with a new "body" detaching itself from my physical one.

Over the years, this happened time-and-time again, and I gradually managed to detach the "ghost body" completely and move around with it. I didn't find it easy, though. It was tough to exercise much control.. but it got easier with practice. I'm still not adept, though. Many times when it happens, I can't detach my "ghost head" from the physical one. They get stuck almost together... but sometimes it all comes together, and I can move around in the "ghost body".

The first time that I managed a full detachment, I got so shocked that I immediately got pulled back in, and found myself stuck together again. It takes time, application, and lots of practice.

im not really sure either, i think i had the begining of an OBE but it was nothing like that at all. i posted it in my dream journal, ill post it here too.


guess you could call it cool but anyway heres my ld. me and my family went to a really really really rich uncles house(who we never new existed) for a big family reunion. i didnt recognize anyone there but i did see a few people from back at school. anyway, i was just roaming around inside his mansion and i was in the dining part, it had 2 rooms that looked exactly the same when i was walking through,. crystal chandeliers, wooden walls, warm atmosphere and good lighting. the floor was a short, blue carpet I was walking through the room which was completely empty but it didnt have that feeling, it felt like it was meant to be empty.like a lobby or something. at the end was a set of double doors but you had to walk around a wooden counter to get past. i saw 2 people, who i assumed to be my cousins because they looked like they were in their early 20's just standing there behind the counter just about to make out but then they saw me. they watched me until i past them and went at it. i entered a large (huge) dining hall.
everything was exactly the same as the room before only its size tripled in length but it was just as wide. i saw fire extinguishers placed on the wall every so many yards. i was on the left side walking towards the back. i looked across the hall and saw a door where a waitor came out of holding a large plate filled with food and drinks. i assumed that was the kitchen. somehow, i knew every corner of this whole wing of the mansion. i came to the table where my family sat. my brother was even there. i was motioned to sit down but i didnt. i felt that it was time so i handed over my lucidity to my subconsience since it needed everything i had to make this OBE work. i dont know how but my subconsience knew a lot more of OBEs than i do. i felt like i was trying to break through from something . my subconsience tried to lift my head and chest from my body but it was like someone was pushing me back down. as i was struggling i saw my skin stretch down. i couldn't make it.
i was forced back down into my body and drifted back to my dream. i had my lucidity back but i was teleported to another part of the dining hall. i think i was at one of the northern edges because there was a stairway behind me. i had a deja vu from that stairway because it was in another one of my dreams. i just stood there because i kno the OBE that my sub consience was trying to ge has failed.

And yeah, thats exactly how it starts. Ya see, i get natural LD's during my afternoon naps. I'll try to break it down for ya. Our bodies are magnetic: mind and physical body. Thoughts create energy, and energy creates magnetism. The more you think, the more you will just get pulled back to your body.

This is why at this point, the way to escape your room is to stop thinking as much as possible. I like to focus on what is called the internal ringing. This will allow you to think as little as possible and cause you to slowly start drifting.
