The impulses are regulated, controled and directed by certain chemicals and amino acids, but the chemicals or combinations of them are not "thoughts" themselves and therefore thoughts do not necesarily cause changes in neuro-chemistry.
Of course, there is the effect of bio-feedback which has gone quite a way in documenting the mind's power over the mechanical functioning of the body, so I suppose if you wished to make the argument that our subconcious is controlling our physiology, I couldn't prove you wrong.
Just for the record, I believe that everything that happens to us in a physical sense is a reflection or manifestation of something from a energetical sense. So, if you were to argue that Deja Vu is somehow a manifestation of some energetical occurance that operationally occurs as an imbalance of Glycine and Cholesytokinin, then I would say you're probably right. Now, if you knew what that energetical occurance might mean for you in an energetical sense, THEN you'd have something.
