Ok everyone i got a simple question. How many of you A. believe in psychic-y stuff (i.e. clairaudience clairsentience etc.) and b. can do some of the said stuff? To those who can:boogie::bowdown:.
Always possible for these things to go on but Im still skeptical. When focused under scrutiny by science many of these so called "psychics" get an epic fail. Much of it is chalked up to strong intuition and ability to read peoples body language. Any clear cut psychic would be a news sensation. Always love to be proven wrong though...
You know what i bet the problem is? The people who want to go on t.v.,get fame and stuff, and get lots of money are the ones who are fakes.I bet the real psychics if there are any are sitting on their bums, watching these fakes, and laughing like crazy.Although i'd love to be proven wrong myself...........
I believe it, but I have yet to see it with my own eyes. People talk about it all through history, so there must be some truth behind it, even if that truth is just a trick. Anyway, it's not until I experience and can do it myself that I will fully believe it.
Not sure.
I'm on the non-believing side.
But I'm really trying to keep an open mind to it. But I'll always stay skeptic.
There is certainly a possibility though.
You people don't beleive?
These are god given gifts that GOD trusts you with, if you beleive in him, anyway. It's basically using the energy that you and everything is made out of, wich is, as a matter of fact, GOD. He is energy. When you obtain these gifts, god is allowing you to use him for any good reasons you can think of. And this may incude the AD things you talk about on this message board.
I personally haven't experienced things such as hearing people's thoughts or feeling their emotions, like an empath or a Telekenisis person(don't know the name for it. sorry!) But my aunts and uncles and my grandma, all on my mom's side of the family, are very "psychic". Three of them are empaths, all Teleknisis people(again, don't know the name), and one of my aunts allways has post cognitive dreams and the others experience these post or pre cog dreams every once in a while... and... they can do the AD things and recognize spirits and feel people's energy, read aura's, forge movements of swinging objects, take away pain... etc.:D
I am currently too young, in my opinion, but am experiencing post and pre cog dreams rarely, have had a few lucid dreams, and can sometimes feel people touching me when their hands are two feet away.
What?? ME??, if you have any questions feel free to pm me;) Even though i might not have experienced things of the psychic sort, my realatives live with me 24/7 and tell me stories that might relate to any problems. I personally know quite a bit and am working on improving my skills with the help of my knowladge and the power of God :)
I believe fervently. In science.
I believe in science and also i do in astral projection, or RV. But for your god, Lol.
I believe in some of them, a lot of them are just cold-readers, but there are some that either do have psychic powers beyond those of a normal human being, or are just extremely lucky at bullshitting, because I know someone personally who went to one of these people, and the psychic told her some crazy stuff that you wouldn't really think of to use, like specifically telling her that her daughter had problems with her septic system, which happened to be true.... I mean come on, where does that even come from? That's either an extremely lucky guess, or she had some strange intuition most people don't have.
Yeah I got a story for you guys that im going to say has a 97% chance of being true.A casual story and the person has no reason to lie. So anyways this teacher aid person goes to a psychic 10-ish years ago and she does a reading. 90% of the stuff happened.(Examples being like color of first house and an accident of a specific colored car.) It was really weird.
(Quote from azure fire) "telekenisis person," Ok can they like move stuff without touching them? Is that what you mean by telekenisis person?
One last thing, my friend says she can do this stuff but I havent seen anything conclusive (it still could be cold reading.)
lol, sorry. It's the type of people that can hear other people's thoughts. I might have gotten the word mixed up with another. I'm still not quite there yet...
if your friend is serious she must really trust you, because it's not something to be telling everybody you know. Like the empaths don't exactly feel comfortable around people because if that person just happens to be very ill, the empath will feel whatever pain that person has. and it's the same with mind reading or thought hearing. if the information is a secret, you don't want to tell. because the next thing you know the person's asking you all of these questions and it's just too difficult to say.
These people known as psychics that you visit and pay money for aren't always real. Some can have visions by merely closing their eyes, and beleive me i have an eight year old cousin that does that, and some can simply touch your hand and know the past or future. My one aunt can do this and see the past and my other can just think of a lost object and she can sometimes know where it'll be found.
And it's okay if you don't beleive. i'm not forcing you to. You don't even have to beleive in God if you don't want to. It'd just be much easier to obtain some of these talents if you did beleive in god or these talents...
Ok your thinking of telepathy I think.Or telepathic. And yes, yes she does. She's my best friend. Jeese I wish I knew you outside of this forum I would love to meet this family. We should meet on the chat sometime... Yawn. Im going to go hit the lucid dream.Wish me luck!
While im at it, im sure everyone would love to know how to learn to be able to do this stuff. So if you could post this stuff it would make this thread a lot more like I hoped lolz.
Good luck, then! and i think you might be right about the telepathy thing...
I would like to say that i just have a bad feeling about posting the instructions on the internet like this. You may question my "strange feeling" if you want and i'll try my best to help you understand. i just know that it's not right to post for the whole world to see. some people don't need to do the stuff that the "psychics" do. it just wasn't meant to be.
I'm sorry What??Me??. I've gotta follow my own psychicy feelings once in a while(;
That's psychic-y with a -.Why do you not want everyone to see this? I'm confused as to why people shouldn't know about this... but, hey it's your ballgame so to speak. (by the way, I got diddley on the lucd dream... alls well) and while im at it im surprised so many are skeptics on a LUCID DREAMING site.
Lucid dreaming is a completely different animal from anything psychic. It does not require any sort of psychic ability, but rather an awareness of oneself. There is no interaction with other people during the act itself, and the entire experience is contained within your own mind.
That being said, I do believe in psychic abilities. I read tarot fairly successfully, which I'm told requires at least a latent psychic talent, but I've only ever had one pre-cog dream, so I have my doubts. I also am very sensitive to spirits, though I don't know if that qualifies as "psychic-y stuff".
Yes it does.Anyways another question while im at it... does deja vu mean anything?
For me it usually means I've had a dream and forgotten it, and then found myself back in that scene.
Wow ... that means that I dream about real life a lot... yawn so borrrrrrrrrrrrrring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*grin* Never said it was exciting.
My wife and I always seem to know what's going on in with each other. I'll pick up my phone and she'll call. I'll be in another town thinking I want chicken for dinner, get home and she'll will have made it. Does one or both of us have this ability or have we just been together so long (30 years) that we just know each other really well?
Also my youngest daughter seems to have the ability to freak us out. Once when she was about 4 we had been outside playing. When we came in to get her ready for bed she suddenly bursts into tears screaming "I want to see Great Nana" over and over. A couple of minutes later the phone rings telling us she had died.
Steve
You're probably projecting your thoughts into your wife's head. Most people just dismiss the coincidense but it's actually what this thread would concider "psychicy stuff"
children are very sensitive, meaning that they're usually born with every "psychic ability" to help them communicate or get around easily in life. If you would like to promote these abilities then just simply talk to your child about these things. Ask her why she wanted to see her great nanna.
It's offical.I am boring. I just had a dream about school and the was no sex or shotguns/gernades. :(
hehe T.T
Come on guys and gals you can do better than this!
I believe in fairies and Santa Claus.
I once had precognition and clairsentiente for about 3 or 4 months, when I was 13. Like Traveler42, I had a few phone episodes with friends of mine. I would go to the living room and put my hand on the phone and only than it would ring. We never had an arranged time to call each other.
I didn't know a thing about ESP back then and have no idea why it happened. But it did.
Some years later I came across a book that said it was a more common phenomenon during puberty, but I really don't know how reliable that info was.
I also have a creepy ghost story in the family, that happened to my great-grandparents (and a couple of other relatives), people that wouldn´t dream of joking about such matters.
I'm not into what people term the "occult" or "supernatural". I'm not even religious. As far has I'm concerned, having extra-senses is no different than having physical ones, and just because science can't measure them (yet), doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist.
My 2,5 cents. :)
Exactly!!! That's why I think everyone should be able to learn this!!!! Cause we don't know everything about the brain and there's no way it's just a "seventh child of a seventh child" bull crap! That is why I have this thread! So that all the people who really want to learn this can!
Well, I wouldn't mind getting my ESP back. I sure as hell missed it for years.
I could never find out how, though. The problem is - since no one really knows how that stuff works there's no really serious info on the subject.
Most of the time you find yourself readind about it from the kind of people that give it a bad name... :?
:laughhard::laughtillhurts::laugh:all those idiots scaming everyone to think they know everything.:P
i have dreams where i will see pieces of the future but i won't remember or realize that it is of the future until after the fact...wonderfully helpful........(like the night before my dog died i had a dream that he died...that sucked but what can you do right?)i can tell people's emotions but i don't think that counts.i am strongly skeptical of everyone who claims to be "psychic" because they most likely aren't and they can't prove it.i only know of one other person like me and thats my little brother because we have the same kinds of dreams and discuss them with each other.plus we can't control when we have them,if there are really people who can control this kind of thing than they are extremely lucky, but 'til i see it happen i will remain a skeptic.
Yes it does ray! Oh toooooooooo bad lolz.
Im glad you like my "sitting on their bums" joke lolz! I was proud of my randomness That day lol.
Ninja art!! El forum bump-o Jutsu!!! Now come on people there has to be more than this. Anything useful is appreciated.
7 dollars will get you a month's subscription to the Coast to Coast AM radio show, with access to archives of shows from the past 90 days. If you want to know more about these topics, this is the place to go.
http://www.coasttocoastam.com
Also, there are some radio stations that play it late at night.
7 bucks?!?!?!?!??! I'm tooooooooo cheap for that! Also I wanted to explain I'm a big Naruto fan (look at my posts and see what I mean.) Btw Cusp have you subscribed?
Yay puberty. Means more ESP for me.
And I mean that. This whole year's been full of awesomeness.
Check your local radio station to see if Coast to Coast AM is played and many let you streamlink for free. I've listened to the show for years and it does cover all these areas.
Personally, i have to believe because I have many of the subjects happen to me. Both sides of my family have had 'sensitives'. I have clairsentinence which for me is getting fully complete paragraphs, for lack of a better description, about situations or people. My 15 yr old daughter sees auras, thought everyone did so she never mentioned it; while I can just feel them and have some healing powers much like Reiki in my hands. I've experienced spirits/hauntings and regularly have weird stuff happening around me. I have had sign type messages from both passed parents, have smelt smoke in a home 3 times before a fire happened, read tarot learned from an aunt, have a guardian spirit who hides things on me when I need to pay attention to something.
As for 'professional' psychics, I think that they do have something there but doubt whether they can simply read one person after another honestly, but always give them the benefit of doubt just in case they say that one thing that can change a life for the better.
selkiegirl
praise Science!
One more tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!! Ninja art! Supreme forum bumpo-el jutsu!!!!!!(Gamabunta appears.)
Ummmmm oops. Looks like i summoned the chief toad... Ow! He stepped on me!!!!!
(He's mega huge people. I now resemble a pancake)
lol.hi pancake-o! what about emotions? why can't i read some people?
A. I believe psychic stuff is possible, and does happen. I do not believe most people who say they are psychics, or that psychic "powers" exist, though I do pay atention to most people who say they have had psychic experiences, or have been able to use psychic abilities or attributes. Semantics are important with this sort of thing.
B. I have had psychic experiences. I;ve seen apparitions, which may or may not have been ghosts or beings seen as a result of some form of clairvoyance, and I have occasionally been able to sense energy signiatures. My dad has been trained in chi/chakras/focus, that sort of thing, and my mom;s side of the family has a common occurence of talkign about someone out of the blue before something unusual happens to whoever they're talking about, or before said family member calls them. Probably coincidence, possibly some sort of link or premonitive tendency. I've also had promonitive experiences, suchas deja vu of things that hadn;t happened yet, or remembering something from later and asking if it had happened before. That sort of thing.
Just so people dont get it mixed up, lucid dreaming and psychics are two completely different things. Though, they can help eachother. If you can do something psychic you can probably use lucid dreams as an aid with it.
I do claim to be able to do these psychic things, yes. I actively practice these things. I'm not saying their real for a fact, but so far I have found them to be, through experimentation and experience. Especially psychokinesis.
Tricky,
Have you examples of pk that you can share?
selkiegirl
Sure. I'm just getting back into PK after about a year of not doing it, so I used to be a lot better(I'll get it back) but yeah. I can move a psiwheel covered by a glass jar, sometimes getting it to spin cosistantly for about 3 minutes. Thats not much proof though, at all. Emty soda cans, pens, pencils, light objects, are also things I can move. Sometimes on occasion I'll slide something big, too. But that can all be argued, a lot. Micro psychokinesis is another thing. By chance, if you flip a coin 100 times, you get 50 on both sides. I did it 100 times to make sure its a good even coin. It is. I didnt get anything too against the odds. When I try to force on side though I get that side, much against the odds. Way more than I'm supposed to. I can also affect a dice roll, force the number I want.
PK isnt all I can do though. Telepathic things are pretty cool. And also things with energy.
Are you saying, you can read some peoples emotions, but others you cant? Well it could be for many reasons. You could just be expecting to not be able to do it with some people, therefore you cant. Psionic things are highly geared around expectation in my experience. If you expect it to work it will. But you should try verifying what your doing also.
er...i'm not sure how to explain what i do...i just look at someone and i can see what they are feeling(fear, happiness, grief, regret, hope, love).i guess maybe its their eyes...it feels deeper than that though...peoples eyes look different in different situations but some people seem to be numb or something its kinda creepy. they don't seem to have emotion and don't react to anything in the slightest, their eyes look dark and flat...almost like a fish but even fish have a spark.i was wondering why i couldn't tell what they were feeling...everyone else i can read perfectly...its frustrating...and disturbing. :?
Its a form of telepathy. I personally dont have that problem..But yeah. Just refine your expectation, expect it to work with them. Keep practicing, trying new things. Mess around and eventually youll get it.
Hmmm... not sure.
My grandpa was able to hear planes crash before they did though. He was pretty darned accurate too. :P
[edit] Hey tricky... how do you move pencils and stuff? I really want to do that ha.
I believe in this. MANY times have I have had "predictions" of the future that have come to me like premonitions, but despite the eiriely psychic ways in which they all turn out to be true, I still don't believe in future prediction.Quote:
Much of it is chalked up to strong intuition and ability to read peoples body language. Any clear cut psychic would be a news sensation. Always love to be proven wrong though...
I believe that your subconcious can map out MILLIONS of factors, connect millions of situations and work out millions of possibilities and outcomes, all at once, all in a fraction of a second.
All these factors coming from people's body language, how they speak, what they say, their personalities, things that happen and things that have happened in the past that might be likely to occur again.
This is my opinion of where psychic/astral projection situations occur, through your mind understanding millions of different possibilies and dabbling with the most likely ones.
Jim.
bcomp - It took me quite a bit of practice. :P Get something extremely light to start off, try to move it. Once you can, move onto heavier and heavier things. Meditation is good too.
@Tricky: This is interesting me more and more. For PK, do you tend to focus on a sort of energy trail, etc., or do you just concentrate on the object itself, and your intent for it to move?
You can try to move it with energy if you want. Thats what some people do. Personally, I use more of a just do it way. I look at it, and kinda intend it to move, while expecting it to at the same time. But I dont really think of it like that. I'm not thinking "Ok. Intend it..Now expect it.." No :P People sometimes say its kinda like moving your arm. But its not exactly like that, because theirs no muscles or anything. Its difficult to explain how I do it. "Just do it" :P
lol i tried this once when i was little me and my friend were trying to make a ribbon bend the most...she won.............................lol
Wow-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Look at where this has gone with my computer being hogged by my dad.... lolz
Hehehehehe thank you.
So from what your saying you think that the people who act high and mighty with the title of psychic are fake and the people who just have some abilitys are not for the most part?Cool.
People have said this before... Of course it could have been ignored... lolz.(the first sentence.) Probably the same area of the brain used for both psychic-y stuff and ld's.
You must be impossible on board games!;) Telepathic things too?
The people may have some psychic talents of their own and maybe be shutting her out. Also may not realise it.
Then again some people are just kinda not really their... Is their some kinda common link with the people you can't read? Like personality?
You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana:
Was he unable to see any planes before they crashed?
Possibly. The human brain's full potential may never be realised.(Wow... look at me all serious...lolz!)
More details! What exactly to start off with? and can anyone else in your family do this?
Sigh.... THe only thing that absolutely sucks about this is the lack of a concrete "how to....." yawn.
What by bending it with er hands? lolz!
What??Me??: (Yes, you :P) I started off with the lightest things I could find. Things like pieces of pocket lint, a key hanging from a string(try to swing it), rolling an emty soda can, etc. Those are all light things to start off with. Try not to limit yourself as to what you practice with, just find as many things as you can. And no, nobody else in my family can do this. But niether could I until I learned to.
Lolz. Cool. How long did it take you to learn this?
It took me about a month to start getting consistant results. I've been doing this for around 3 years though.
I believe that there are Psychics, and anyone can be one with the right training. I also believe that there are a lot of Frauds in the world just doing it for the money. Lots of people believe that everyone has had psychic experiences and humans naturally have the ability to be psychic when they are young. However, people aren't used to that sort of thing so adults often tell children that their 'deja vu' and 'imaginary friends' aren't big a big deal.
There are lots of books on training your chakras and mind so that you can use it for psychic purposes like Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Claircognesance, Astral Projection, Divination, Dowsing, Telepathy, and other things of the sort. I'm in the process of learning some of these talents so that I can better understand things of other people so I don't make such stupid decisions sometimes. (haha)
@ Tricky
Teacher me! I'm really looking to learn PK and have started to try 'training' my mind, I'm still a little skeptic however to all this stuff because I have never met anyone who could do this sort of stuff be it PK, visions etc
Still, all today I have been seeing possibilities for where PK would be useful and man its driving me nuts. Must learn....
Cheers
OK! I don't really know if this is relative because I didn't read everything here, but: The day before my two uncles fell off of a cliff, I had a dream about falling off of a cliff too.
I've had that before, when I was the ages 8-14 I'd have dreams of babies getting born, weddings, my friends(at the time) trying to get me to do drugs, and a few of people dying. I thought they couldn't be related to anything in reality, but then those things would happen in about a week-a month.
Tsiyeria: Yes, pendulum was one of the main things I used actually. :P But dont give up just because it doesnt move. Dont over practice either, just like a half hour a day. But you have to be CONSISTANT. Most people I try to teach do it for 2 days and just go "Oh its too hard" and give up.
Mr Jinsue: I dont know exactly where to start, but if you ever need any tips or help just PM or IM me.
Yeah, definately buy a book, because anyone can say anything on the internet.
and no one can say anything in a book?!
Most of the people who write the books have degrees and have been conducting experiments for YEARS. So its a duh, of course your results with a book will be better.
i don't mean to contradict you but i have read some pretty stupid books by people who had no idea what they were talking about.i almost always research a topic and the book itself before i buy a book about it.
i don't know i will have to wait until school starts again to observe the ones i can't read more.i was actually wondering if they were blocking me somehow for some reason.would it make you uncomfortable if you knew i knew your emotions?(sorry about the double post...)
Once again forget about the double post. and no not really. Of course my emotions are pretty clear. As in I make it extremly obvious. Lolz. Can you tell what im feeling right now as i type this or does it have to be face to face?
lol, face to face of course. that would be awesome if it was like bing! your happy! or bing! you regret something! on just communicating with someone.(its not really like bing! either...)
this also, is unrelated, but once you see it I doubt that anyone will be mad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRmqZRPgK1w
huh?
yeah I didn't catch that either
GothGirl: They can say anything in books too. A lot of them dont really know what thier talking about either. Like "The Secret".
sorry for some reason the hyperlink got deleted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRmqZRPgK1w
Do you guys really think I'm that stupid? I'm just saying that a lot of ammetures or fakes post online because ANYONE can post online. Yes, some of the fakes can write books, that's a "no shit" right there. HOWEVER you are more likely to gain success by researching your subject, researching the books, researching the authors, THEN buying the book you think is right for you. I'm not saying 'hey! Go find some book on it and all will be perfect!!' That would be stupid.
And Eric, you are cool. lol that video was funny. Aweome tags for you!!
eric:wtf ?!? you are completely random.
yeah it is.... its so rediculous that I can't look away. It makes me want to make a cheesy music video.
I suppose its possible to get results with books. I however never got any books on the subject until after I had already learned it and could do it. After you read the book though, if you still have questions the book wont answer, you wont get an answer. If you need guidance, the book wont give it to you.
It really doesnt matter where you learn from. You can learn from an article you read, a person, a book, whatever. I learned by practicing and sometimes got one or two tips from people who were more experienced than me. Thats all. The book method isnt better than the other method, and the other method isnt better than the book method.
Ok these are all great posts but first before i edit this post and respond i want to give a shoutout to a friend of mine named snoprox!!!!! Look here dum dum.(He may join but if anyone asks i refered him.) Lolz
Tricky: Do you have to zone out or meditate first, or can you just start out by sitting down and concentrating?
I'm very good at reading people's emotions. It's just natural though. I can just tell what people are thinking through how there eyes look. I know that sounds weird though.... But that PK stuff sounds cool.
That's why you research the books and make sure you glance through the ones that have the section in the back where it tells about continuing the training. It will tell you about what books to look into for different things and what not. But whatever, who really cares that I'm typing this eh? So I'm shutting up now.
Empaths
really? you didn't just make that up?
Cool we have a name
Ok, I have a story for you.
I believe I have a psychic connection with my brother. You must know that he is mentally challenged, which puts him in a different position. He's 19, but acts like a child, I'm 22. I'm pretty sure that he sometimes hears my thoughts. It always happens when we are completly ignoring each other and that we are both zoned out, like in the car, or playing video games. Wierd things will happen, like, he will suddenly turn to me and say something that had to do with what I was thinking about. I feel like I influence what he is thinking about. because sometimes he'll come up with answers to questions that he couldn't have come up with on his own. Remember he has limited mental faculties.
I don't know, I feel like I've lived enough "psychic stuff" to at least feel like its at least possible for some people to have psychic abilities.
I've always thought that mentally challenged people have a better chance of seeing, knowing, and doing things that "normal" people don't or can't. Perhaps their brains are wired differently? Or perhaps they haven't learned that such things are "impossible", and so it's not as difficult, because they don't have that seed of doubt?
I dunno why, but the existence of savants pretty much convinces me.
Tsiyeria: I usually meditate first. But no, I dont need to. I just do it because in the long run people who meditate advance quicker. But no I dont have to meditate first.
Think of it like this. Before you practice a sport, you usually warm up and stretch first. But it doesnt mean if you dont warm up and stretch you cant do it. Just people who warm up and stretch first advance quicker.
^^^^^
What's your exact meditation technique?
Ok i just got this book at a yard sale. Psychic development for beginners by William W. Hewitt. Has anyone else read this book?
I haven't read it, but you should google the author and research him before you read the book all the way through. So you can understand what kind of person is saying what the book says.
I believe but it's hard to tell the real ones from the fake ones, especially when the fakes have gotten really good at pretending. Of course guilable people are easy prey to them.
I get premonition dreams sometimes. I got them more frequently when I was younger.
Over the past 4-5 years I've begun to hear things. I guess it kinda started the day my aunt died (I was close to her). I knew something bad had happened before I knew about her death. The world just felt different. Right before I got the news of her accident, I was driving home and got this strange feeling. The world suddenly felt like it was moving in slow motion, the colors around me were muted except for a few streaks of bright colors (purple and pink I think). It was very quiet. I remember thinking how weird that day was.
I've only saw something once and I'd prefer to keep it that way. :parapet:
I'm a believer in science too but I also know that science can only prove or disprove something if they have the technology to do so. At this point, the psychic realm is fairly new to science and there isn't exactly a way to prove or disprove anything really.
We all have a little psychic power but some are more in tune with their powers than others. Just like some of us tend to listen to our inner voice more than others. It's like trying to use science to prove that God/higher being exists. You can't really prove it but you can't disprove it either, you can only go by faith.
It's only recently that people have figured out ways to capture spirits/ghosts on film and be able to detect them. Before that most people just assumed it was all BS.
The same thing could be said about the ancients. People back then probably thought rain, ligtning, plagues, etc. were punishments from a higher being but modern science knows what causes these things.
i agree.
anyone know if there is a way to control pre-cognitive dreams, and know what they are when you have them?
sunday i got de-ja-vu from a dream i had had a couple years before.i didn't realize what it was when i had it but i remembered it when what i dreamt came true yesterday.i was in my pop-up camper looking for a bunch of lost(stolen) glow sticks in a bed.my friend was in there watching me look for them. i think i didn't realize it wasn't a normal dream because my friend had never been to my house so i thought it out of the ordinary that she would be there so i passed it off as a normal dream.it would really help if i knew what they were when i had them.it annoys the crap out of my when i remember something i had dreamt and am like 'wait a minute...i had a dream this happened!'. help?
I know how you feel. I get a lot of deja vus too.
Wish I could tell you how to know what they are when you get them but I don't know either, I think the best thing to do is just keep track of your dreams. Usually anything death related or related to friends and families I keep a close eye on, you know, just in case.
I did have this strange string of dreams years ago that was so vivid and strange that it stayed with me a for a few months. It was just so random and out there, especially what I read in my dream.
A few weeks later (after that dream) I was on a forum to check for new replies on a topic and that day someone had written, word-for-word what I read in my dream.
lol, yeah.that happened yesterday.i was sitting there on the bed thinking this seems familiar...oh! it was in a dream i had.i was about to tell my friend i dreamt this happened and then my dad called me and started to say exactly what he said in the dream.i never did tell her that i had dreamt it...i just wish someone would know how to know what they are when they happen...i also have to start keeping a better dream journal...i used to write in it all the time but now i'm lucky if i enter anything in it all week.if the dream seems important i memorize it but like i said they don't seem like anything so i don't pay attention to them.
wow i haven't been on this in a while
okay, one way to control cognitive dreams is to think about a certain thing that you want to know. like, if i want to know about how tomorrow's wedding party will go, you think about the wedding party while you sleep. and if you're religious, try praying to your god and ask for the certain gift. if he/she's a generous god, maybe he/she will allow you to have coginitive dreams.
pm me for more details... i know too much about this stuff:D
okay, wierd experiences
1} my sister had a friend over one day and i was halfway asleep. her friend, lets name her Jen, likes to get on my laptop while im asleep. when i was "asleep" this time, my back was to, i guess you can say, the outside of my bed. usually where she'd get the laptop. okay, so i was lying there trying to fall deeper into my sleep wehn i felt something tickeling at my back. it was all over, so that tells you something. I turn over and Jen is looking for the laptop. That is what you would call feeling somebody's presence by detecting their energy or aura when it colides with your aura. I for one have a very wide ranged aura so i'm not surprised that i felt her. but its was pretty surprising cause that hasn't happened to me since the time my sister tried to tickle me while my feet where sticking out of my blankets and I told her to stop before she even touched me. lol i've got a psychotic "thumb"
2}my sister and I are what you'd call linked or soemthing like taht. I'll be thinking the same thing she's thinking and she's usually the first one to mention what I'm thinking. sometimes its vice versa.
I have many answers to many questions, even though i'm not completely psychotic. my aunt is an empath, my other aunt can read minds, i have cognitive dreams, my cousin can move stuff, my uncle stops watches, my grandma does it all. just pm me for answers, because i have a psychic family. I'm just the only one that's NOT psychic.... lol
I believe in psychic abilities....
I love hearing others opinions on this subject reading words from a skeptic and that of a believer. Here's a question....
What do you perceive psychic abilities to be? Because here's what I have got from many of your posts...
1) Some form of super hero power, gift
2) You have to be chosen by God
3) That lucid dreams are not psychic abilities
4) Highly intuitive person that has just been labelled a psychic
5) Psychokenisis
6) Precognition Dreams
7) Telepathy
8) Clairvoyant = Clear seeing
9) Clairaudient = Clear hearing
10) Clariempathy = Clear feelings
If I missed any others please forgive me as I can not remember everything that I have just read...Here is an article that I found awesome and put psychic abilities in perspective for me. Like many of you I thought all the things I listed from 1-10 was a psychic which created misunderstandings...Its pretty long so embrace yourself
Psychic Phenomenon: Gifts, Powers, or Abilities?
In my work as a psychic who seeks to mentor those developing their own skills, I find it important to discuss this subject. I refer to psychic abilities as just what they are - skills or abilities. The other terms, gifts and powers, I find to be damaging as they infer that this is unattainable by others, or that psychic senses are much more “supernatural” than they actually are. Often I hear others speak of their developing abilities as “gifts”, as though they were so special that God gave them this unique and special ability and not others. Unfortunately, many famous psychics also do this, insinuate that some great mystical super-secret society power has been bestowed on them. This is harmful to those who would love to develop psychically but feel that they “aren't enough” somehow, or haven't been “chosen”.
Are psychic abilities gifts? Indeed they are. Those of us who have developed them recognize that we are blessed, but I also recognize that every breath I take on this planet is also a gift. I also know that we all breathe. Therefor oxygen, while still a beautiful, precious gift that should not be taken for granted, is something that we can all partake in. Psychic ability is no different. Just as everyone can pick up a pencil and write with it, everyone can also learn to develop the intuition to some degree. Not everyone will become a pulitzer prize winning novelist, or famous poet, but that doesn't stop all of the rest of us from writing, so why should it stop beginners in Metaphysical studies from even trying?
It is amazing to me the number of people who come to me and say “I don't think I am gifted” or “Can you tell me if I have gifts?”. My answer: "Are you standing here, breathing, having a life experience right now? then yes you are gifted". The key is not focusing on lack or what one doesn't have, but
appreciating what is. What we believe tends to become self-fulfilling prophecy. Psychic abilities are not elusive foreign phenomenon that only the chosen few can bring forward, they are an innate set of senses, hidden deep within the psyche and soul of each being that must be allowed to
come forward. Many people don't agree with this, they believe that because they want psychic abilities that they must already be allowing it and it just isn't coming. This is very untrue. Developing these skills means adjusting to a different reality that what is presently understood and accepted both by society and the individual. The body/mind have a natural resistance to this in place as a protective mechanism. In order to reach our fullest potential psychically, we have to work at peeling away the barriers. It can take
considerable time and effort to allow these abilities to manifest to their fullest potential, and as with anything worth having they require sincerity, persistence, and dedication.
We live in a society that pushes heavily the “instant gratification” syndrome, and this tends to cause many developing psychics to throw in the towel much to soon. When we add the stigma of “being gifted” to it, many don't even try at all. They are falsely led to believe that these abilities just manifest in others who have been fortunate enough to have them bestowed upon them by Creator. News Flash, God/Creator loves all of creation, so why then would He/She/It only give gifts to some of the Earths children and not to all? That's not unconditional love, but it is a human condition ;). Every one of you reading this also has psychic ability, and yes it is a gift, but so is everything else.
Another word I hear misused a lot is “powers”. Psychic ability does not give us “power” over anyone, and those psychics who believe it does usually find their careers short-lived, or find that Karma catches up eventually. Any genuine psychic is humble enough to tell people that they too can do what he/she is doing. A good psychics goal is to empower others - not to wield some false sense of power over them. When I hear psychics and/or aspirants refer to their “powers” it is one of my biggest pet peeves. That
word implies not only that it is a "super secret society elite thing" again, but also propogates fear and contributes to the already abounding social ignorance surrounding psychic phenomenon. Those who do this to puff up their own egos by portending they have super-hero like “powers” make it difficult for genuine psychics to get established and the outlook for ever being taken seriously in our field becomes even more grim. I have the upmost respect for psychics and healers as well, who seek to empower others by demystifying this process. John Edward is one prime example of a mainstream psychic who has done a lot of work in
this area. Thanks to his work, more people are seeing this as something that is not just a power for the chosen ones, but something anyone with the dedication to do so can develop. I hope that as more of us establish our careers we will also take the “high road” and continue to promote more personal empowerment and less hocus-pocus. Knowledge is the true “power”
Yeah. My aunt is one of the ones laughing at the crazies on tv. I believe what she says because she's predicted some spot on stuff and shown me some things that lead me to believe what she's saying is the real deal. She gets hired by places to investigate paranormal activity and such. There are still some things I'm kinda skeptical about, but for the most part I believe there is some definate truth to it....just not what you see on tv.:P
You know what's kinda freaky?
My bf's grandmother passed away recently (like a week ago). Well, I went out to dinner with his mom, uncles and extended family and they were talking about his grandmother and what she had told them before she died.
She was 83 and had had a stroke, anyway, she knew she was going to die.
She's a very devoted Christian (being married to a minister and all) and she wasn't ready to die but she said God told her it was her time. Now, normally when I hear that I just brush it off as something people tell others and themselves to make the process easier.
But she tried telling my bf's mother that her time was coming up and that God had given her the signs that she asked to prove to her that it was her time. She recieved all the signs and knew her time was getting close.
She made all of her plans and put things in order. She had said that she would be dying in bed but my bf's mom (who she was staying with because she needed someone to care for her) had said, "don't do that because if I wake up I'll be scared." So she said, "fine, I'll die on the floor." Then her son said, "Don't do that because the dogs will pee on you." So she said, "Fine, I'll die on the couch."
Well, about the next day or so, she had done her usual routine and had finished watching Joel Olsteen on tv, even went in to her son's room to tidy up and clean around the apartment (my bf's mom and uncle were from out of town so they had to temporarily get a place to stay). When she was done, she sat back down on the couch and had her stroke.
My bf's mom called the ambulance right away.
After a week of being in the hospital, she got her last sign from God that it was her time and shortly after she died (she waited until everyone had left, she didn't want anyone around when she died).
I think he was talking about a saying, the saying is "knowledge is power". We know wisdom is better (or suppose to be) but it's knowledge in certain areas that help bring power to certain people. If you have the knowledge or you have someone that has knowledge of building a very dangerous weapon, yeah, that kinda makes you powerful.
It's why so many countries are trying to out do each other in the science and weaponry department.

I would have to say myself even though I summitted the article that I do not believe that this statement is complete. I prefer to believe in this:
Knowledge is power when shared with others for the greater good of all.
Thats my belief. Because knowledge on its on is worth less and not powerful. Why have all the knowledge in the world when you don't want to share it. Knowledge used for the greater good becomes powerful which then makes us wiser. This is my belief. For those that disagree thats cool thats what makes us different and human.
While we're on the subject of ..... well..... this... i got a saying from the king, Elvis Presly.
(now im pretty sure this is right) "Money is not the root of all evil, greed is." You know he is right. There are people who hoard money but there are also people who will donate so much to charities.
lol, i know, i know it just popped into my head and i had to say it.

I also believe this, because truly, everybody is capable. But, I also believe that if God intended for such a thing to happen as part of his grand design, it will. If you are religious(christian or bible trustworthy) like me, you should understand that before everything was created, God had a plan for each and every soul or form of life on this planet. If God's plan was to give you these gifts or to allow you to wield or develope such abilities, powers, whatever you want to call them, then it will happen.Quote:
Just as everyone can pick up a pencil and write with it, everyone can also learn to develop the intuition to some degree.
Sure you can go out and learn the gifts, but if God's plan is for you to... lets jsut say, help your friend get back into going to church, then he'll most likely take away those gifts so you can fulfill this plan the way he intended.
one of my favorite quotes is by benjamin franklin. "One today is worth two tomorrows." It's basically telling you to live your life the the fullest and always try your best because you never know if tomorrow will be the end of the world, or your life.
Another is "A single pebble rippling in the Pacific Ocean can cause a Tsuname in China." I think it's a chinese proverb. It's saying that if you, for example, go into a gas station in a terrible mood, your attitude could cause the cashier to go insane and become a serial killer. That's just an example, though. Such a small thing could make such a big difference.
When I present to you these sayings, I'm telling you that whatever you do now will most likely frame your future. Everything you do makes a difference in either your life or somebody's else. So be careful with the gifts you may obtain. And remember that you don't need to recite an incantation or light candles and incense to get gifts. When you do this, you're making a pact with the devil. It doesn't bring anything good, so don't make the mistake and sell your soul to Satan.
I'm a very religious person, so don't hate me because I mention God's name in this message. If you want, you can put it in your own perspective and use your own god's name. I don't care. Just trust whatever you have faith in for the answer to these natural abilities. I just really wish that people would have more faith.....
I believe in colin (see below) ;)
I believe in some, and can do none!
WOOT WOOT!!! it iz walms!!!!!!!!! Ok i haz to things to say and neither one has a dang thing to do with psychic-y stuff. First 100 POSTS!!!!!! wooooooooooot! Also I haz a girlfriend!!!!!!!!
Pre edit: Also im going to make a new thread. This thread is only for the people who can do this to pst techniques and for us average joe's to ask questions relevant only to the psychic-y stuff.
I have proof under several cases of telepathic communication between myself and another. Enough to make me develop that skill.
I also have several accounts of telepathic projection of emotions.
Once I am consistent, I will let you people here know.
I'm new around here... just joined today... but I've been on a "deeper meaning" kick the last few days... dunno why. I've been reading about everything from dreams and psychic stuff to aliens and 2012 predictions. It happens to me from time to time - LOL
I'd have to say I'm a believer... but I always seem to want more proof, so there is the skeptical side of me. I've had a few odd things happen over the years...
I had a shared dream once without trying to. I don't remember the dream, but it was with a boyfriend I had a close bond with (long time ago, I was in high school). We were careful not to "lead" each other when we described the dream, and initially we were just talking about the dreams we had had in previous days when we discovered we had shared one. Certainly not proof of anything, and it's possible we were filling in logical gaps for each other, but I remember feeling sure of it at the time (though who knows, I was pretty young and stupid, LOL)
When my father passed away my daughter was young... 6 years old. I had come back from the hospital and was at my grandmothers house where my mother's extended family had gathered for the holidays. Everyone knew what I was going through, and I knew I was just waiting for the call. I asked my younger cousins (teenagers at the time) to take my daughter upstairs to play. The call came a little while later. I went into the kitchen and cried. My husband comforted me. My mother comforted me. My aunt came in and comforted me. I calmed down a bit (maybe 5 minutes went by?). I could hear the kids upstairs headed down. I quickly wiped away my tears as my little daughter approached me and said "mommy, did someone just leave?" I was shocked. No one had gone in or out the front door and she had no understanding of death at that age. I told he it was going to be okay and to go play with her cousins.
Every year since my father's death it has snowed on my birthday... to the point where people call me now and say "OMG it's SNOWING!" It's happened when no snow was predicted or when it was least expected. This past year was odd because the weather radar showed it was snowing but I never saw it. My husband was the witness to how strange it was. Another strange one is a snowflake bracelet I wear. It's a charm on a heavy clasp and chain. It has never fallen off. Two weeks ago we were shopping and I felt something in my shoe. I looked down and the snowflake charm had popped off and fell into my flip-flop, then bounced onto the ground in front of me. It was my father's birthday. I know they could just be odd coincidences...
More about the snow... I went to a John Edward "show" that was held at a small local theater a few months back (even if you're a skeptic, I recommend seeing him live at least once). John was reading a woman in the two right behind me and something about snowflake jewelry came up. She was excited and said "yes! yes" my necklace". Of course i was thinking about my bracelet. John made her husband look at the necklace to confirm it was a snowflake, but the husband didn't seem convinced (her necklace was actually a heart with an imprint of either a snowflake or a star on it, and the husband seemed to act as if it was too small to see). I was going to raise my hand, but was hesitant. A little while later John brought up something so odd that even he laughed... and it made sense to me. I reluctantly stood up. He went over the details a few times because they sounded crazy, but I confirmed he was on track. He proceeded to give me a reading and lot of it focused on my mom -- which he was dead-on about. Specific things, not generalities. It was specific enough to make me feel perplexed... but I still question it. I am convinced that the snowflake he was picking up was for me, not the woman behind me.
Ultimately though, I WANT to believe and the skeptic in me seems to prevent any kind of "faith". I actually have a fear of death and WANT there to be an afterlife... I sometime wish I was one of those people who could blindly believe, but I"m always looking for MORE.
My post has gotten way too long! Sorry about that!
...one other experience I forgot to relay...
When I was about 11 or 12 my mother went and had a psychic reading. I didn't go and my mother didn't want me to know the outcome. She had it recorded on tape and I went looking for it when she wasn't home so I could listen. I remember only a few things (most of it applied to her so I wasn't interested... LOL)... One thing the psychic said was "your daughter will go into the commercial arts, something with advertising or marketing, and be successful"... and the time I laughed at it, not even really knowing what it meant. Today I am an art director for an in-house ad agency for a big company. She also said my father would die at age 75, which I was very upset about. The numbers were right, the age was wrong. My father died at 57.
Wow, we all have so many ideas on psychic abilities.
To put my 2 cents in, I believe psychic abilities exist. Some people are born with them, some develop them. Not all psychic people are good people. Hmm...
I agree with Yumeria saying "having extra-senses is no different than having physical ones". I believe they are an extension of the physical senses.
Ex. Clairaudience = Hardcore awareness of sound
My personal experiences are varied. Sometimes if you're aware of what's going on around you without talking to yourself in your head or without having a song going on interally, you enter the psychic state of mind and things start to kinda shift. Twice when I was in that zone and I didn't necessarily "read" someone's thoughts but it was as if I felt their mental process and knew exactly what they were thinking. Weird, yes. It's a matter of awareness and IMO you'll always doubt psychic abilities until you've had experiences yourself. There are so many psychic things. "Scanning" people (interalizing them and getting an idea of what they are all about), psychic dreams, moving objects with your mind, levetation....maybe that's going too far. :P
And to defend the psychics that are blamed for not preventing world disasters, sometimes if people pull off major things it throws off the tempo of our....dimention. It may cause a shock and make the world more worse off than it naturally may be. It reminds me of whiplashes... (that's just a thought)
As far as de ja vu experiences, it may be that parrallel lives exist. Like you're living in the past and the future symotaneously in some "deep" part of yourself.
BTW - I'm not a very developed psychic. But, I'm working on it.
BTWW - Always remember not everyone is open to knowing you're working on psychic abilities or you are a psychic. My own mom thinks psychics are possessed. ^^;; Yeah, that sucks.
We are all psychic. I have psychic visions... I wish I had full control to pull information whenever I want and not just at certain times.
God? Goddess? Depends on your religion, a belief in god is not needed a belief in the good for humanity and interconnectedness is all that is needed.Quote:
And it's okay if you don't beleive. i'm not forcing you to. You don't even have to beleive in God if you don't want to. It'd just be much easier to obtain some of these talents if you did beleive in god or these talents...
Their in control of their emotions and themselves.
They can cloak their true intentions.
They are aware of their psychic ability and hide it.
More often than not the person is unaware.
1) We are all born with the ability, depending on where we were born in the zodiac depends on our natural ability. But practice like all things improves ability.Quote:
1) Some form of super hero power, gift
2) You have to be chosen by God
3) That lucid dreams are not psychic abilities
4) Highly intuitive person that has just been labelled a psychic
5) Psychokenisis
6) Precognition Dreams
7) Telepathy
8) Clairvoyant = Clear seeing
9) Clairaudient = Clear hearing
10) Clariempathy = Clear feelings
2)We are all chosen. Even in science it is believed that we all centered from one place (the big bang). In Christianity we are all created by God. In other old religions we are all a part of the one, seeing as how we all came from the same place. We are all connected.(Just like in quantum entanglement) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement
3)Lucid dreaming is not the same as seeing the future in your dreams. For sure.
4)Some people, it's called reading body language.
You mention the zodiac. What does that have to do with it and where are the best and worst places in the zodiac to be in to be psychic?
Worst I am not sure.
I know Capricorns and Scorpios are thought to be more naturally attuned.
And water signs in general, it just depends.
I being the goat.
Sagittarius, Aquarius, Pisces, also...
But like I said, we all have the ability. Only takes belief and understanding.
Dang.... Gemini. Me I haz no talent lol.
Not true.. If you are to believe the Zodiac and old knowledge you are merely a new soul.
Gemini are supposed to be one of the first signs you are incarnated onto the earth with. Or so I've heard/read.
You just have a lot of lifetimes left to learn more :)
Pisces being the last.
I also see a new englander not a Massachusetts resident?
Nope. Tried and true mainer. A new soul..... Yippe, skippe.
And check out the new avatar and sig pic.
I'm Bradley Thompson -- and I'd like to thank you for joining me on this course.
Now, if you listen closely over the next four lessons, you'll discover just how easy it is to tap into your natural psychic ability and use these skills to create a better life.
Can YOU imagine having --
* the power to make things happen just by thinking about them!
* the ability to change anything you want in your life!
* the skill to solve all your problems!
Imagine no longer! You HAVE that power and those skills. In fact, you were born with them.
* So why not turn imagination into reality? *
It's a great question - and in this mini-course, you'll move closer toward achieving that. But first - I want to blast the lid on some of the weird myths that have become linked with psychic powers over the years.
Have YOU heard of any of these...?
* * *
MYTH NO. 1 -- Psychic powers are Dangerous
This is totally FALSE. Skydiving, bungee jumping, vaulting over the Grand Canyon on a motorcycle or plummeting down Niagara Falls inside a barrel: now THESE things are dangerous! But your psychic abilities are innate, meaning you were born with them. When you learn more about these powers you're really only learning more about yourself. The only danger involved is that you might discover ways to lead a happier, healthier lifestyle.
MYTH NO. 2 -- Psychics are really only Witches under another name
Again, this is completely UNTRUE. Your psychic talents are 100% natural and this course helps you tap into those talents that are already there. Your psychic skills will help you remove stress from your life, help you make the right choices and decisions about events in your life and give you the power to help other people. It won't show you how to cast spells or get in touch with the devil: those things have nothing to do with the psychic world AT ALL.
MYTH NO. 3 -- Psychics can get possessed by evil spirits.
Absolutely FALSE. Your psychic adventures may bring you into contact with beings from the spirit world, but for the most part these will be loved ones who have passed over and who now wish to get in touch. There is absolutely NO evidence ANYWHERE that anyone who has developed his or her psychic skills has ever been taken over or possessed by an evil spirit. Period!
* * *
You already have psychic abilities. Everyone does. You were born with them. Despite the efforts of television and Hollywood to sensationalize things, there's nothing supernatural or mysterious about it. If you're still uncertain, ask yourself these simple questions:
* Have you ever entered a room and felt an immediate atmosphere, a chill in the air or a sense that something had just happened?
* Have you ever been somewhere or seen something and knew every detail about the place or thing, even though you knew you'd never been there or seen it before?
Most of us would answer YES to both of these experiences. But how can you explain them? What is it that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, or gives you butterflies in your stomach? The answer is, of course, your psychic abilities, warning you of danger or helping you make sense of situations.
So how can you tap into your psychic powers on demand, so you can gain those sort of insights exactly when you want?
Well, it's a scientifically proven fact that as soon as you close your eyes, your brain starts producing alpha waves.
Why is that important?
Because those alpha waves are the basis for creating the perfect conditions to connect with your psychic powers! If you could learn to create those conditions for yourself whenever you wanted to, you'd be able to develop and exploit your psychic abilities to their full potential.
In the next installment of the course we'll chat more about this principle - and demonstrate how easy it is to gain access to your psychic powers. We'll also be giving you the secret to unlocking those powers once and for all.
Now, in the first installment we looked at some of the myths surrounding psychic abilities and helped you understand how these abilities are completely natural and a part of who you are. We also hinted at how you can create the right conditions to help develop and exploit your psychic powers to their full potential
And the secret to creating those conditions and unlocking your psychic powers is ... meditation!
But what exactly is meditation, and how can it be so powerful?
Meditation is basically a way of learning how to focus. When you're focused you can shut out the physical world and let your intuition and sixth sense come storming through. And that's where all your psychic power comes from.
But to some people meditation is an inexplicable practice that remains surrounded in mystery and misconception. It's seen as either too complicated or too time consuming to be of any real benefit in our modern way of life. This is so far from the truth, however, that we feel the need to shatter all those myths immediately and set your mind at rest!
* * *
MYTH NO. 1 -- Meditation takes years of practice and requires super-human powers of concentration.
This is totally false. Meditation is simply a skill that anyone can learn. It takes little more than the ability to breathe deeply, close your eyes and focus on something. You can focus on a color, a shape, a sound, an object, a face, or anything that helps you block out the world around you.
You don't need to wear fancy clothes or chant silly incantations. But then again, you can if you want to. And that's another point to remember. Meditation is a personal experience: you do it the way you want to by following the techniques that suit you and your lifestyle.
MYTH NO. 2 -- In order to meditate, you have to empty your mind.
This is also completely false. You probably already realize that it's physically impossible to empty your mind. No matter what you do, there's always something going on in there. Even when you're asleep your mind is working away, sifting through information from your day and sorting things out for later use. Rather than thinking about emptying your mind, instead you should think about filling it with just ONE idea and trying to focus on that. That's what REAL meditation is.
The ability to focus on a single thought is probably the only difficult part of meditation. And once you get the hang of that, with help from all the exercises included with this course, you'll be able to meditate almost anywhere and at any time that's convenient for you.
MYTH NO. 3 -- Real meditation requires you to get into the Lotus position.
Are you kidding? Meditation is a thoroughly personal experience. It doesn't require you to position your body in any special way. Crossing your legs in a way that is incredibly uncomfortable is NOT going to help quieten your mind!
There are many schools of meditation and special exercises from "international meditation gurus". However the simple truth is that whatever works for you, works for you. There are no right and wrong ways to meditate.
Now - as well as helping you focus and gain access to your psychic potential, meditation also brings with it a whole stack of benefits that will improve your health and well being almost immediately. Here are just some of the by-products you'll enjoy when you meditate regularly...
* increased relaxation
* instant stress relief
* better concentration skills
* a more positive outlook
* looking and feeling younger
* more creativity
* greater spontaneity
* emotional security
* more energy
* clearer ideas about what you want
* enhanced problem solving skills
Once you're relaxed and your mind is open to possibilities, you'll begin to notice things you might have previously taken for granted.
Now, I'm going to show you how easy it is to learn how to meditate and unleash your secret psychic power source, your INTUITION.
Let's start with the simplest focusing technique there is: deep breathing. This exercise is the basis for all your meditation work and the key to helping you lead a more intuitive life.
Whenever you do any of the exercises in the Be Psychic! books, make sure you have a comfortable place to sit in a quiet room where you won't be disturbed. Many of the exercises are meant to be done while you're at work or when you're out and about, but you might find it difficult to practice the focusing and meditating exercises unless you can shut out the world in a relaxing and peaceful environment. But don't let that put you off: once you get some experience behind you, you'll easily be able to focus - even in the most hectic situations!
* * *
DEEP BREATHING EXERCISE
Make yourself comfortable as you sit on a chair or on the floor. Keep your back and spine as straight as possible to allow energy to flow freely through your body.
Breathe in slowly through your nostrils only, keeping your mouth closed to help make this easier. Exhale slowly through your nostrils as well, feeling the air as it enters and leaves the body through your nose.
Focus on your breathing. Feel each breath enter and exit your nasal passages. Feel the air filling up your lungs as your chest rises and falls.
Continue to breathe deeply in this manner until your mind is calm and your body is relaxed. If your concentration wanders at any time, try to bring your thoughts back to your breathing again.
* * *
Okay, it's a pretty basic exercise -- but it illustrates two points.
Firstly, how easy it is to focus and, secondly, how meditation doesn't have to be a long and complicated process.
If you managed to complete this little exercise then you'll know that it takes only a few minutes to relax and find something to focus on. And that's what meditation is all about.
Once you begin meditating on a regular basis, you'll be able to calm your mind and body quickly, putting yourself in exactly the right state to activate your intuition. This isn't as difficult as it sounds, because your intuition has been guiding you to make decisions and solve problems all of your life.
Think about all the people you know in your life.
Why are some of these people more successful than others?
Because they follow their instincts, listen to the voices in their heads, go with their gut feelings and rely on their first impressions. In other words, they work WITH their intuition and not against it. Of course it can be difficult to start listening to your intuition when you've spent a lot of time ignoring it, and that's where "Be Psychic!" can help.
When you trust in your intuition and follow your instincts you'll be making a significant change in the way you approach and resolve situations in your life. Possibilities will open up before your very eyes, giving you the perfect foundation with which to explore your other psychic talents, including clairvoyance, telepathy, healing and mediumship.
In your next installment we'll be showing you how to see into the future and to read minds. But if you're eager to get started right away, download Be Psychic! NOW and begin unlocking your psychic potential immediately!
Welcome to the third lesson in your four-part Be Psychic! mini-course.
In the first installment we showed you how easy it is to learn to meditate and the benefits this can bring to your physical and emotional health. Then in part two we demonstrated some simple techniques for relaxing and focusing. We also talked about ways you can lead a more intuitive life and begin to follow your intuition instead of ignoring it.
In this installment, we're heading straight into the good stuff -- how to see into the future and read minds!
Now, if you think seeing into the future is impossible, then you're in for a pleasant surprise!
Not only is it possible, it's actually easier than you ever imagined. It takes practice, of course, but heck -- what doesn't?
Try these simple tests out on yourself throughout for the next day or two. Don't worry about being right: just go with your instincts and let your intuition guide you.
Remember, first impressions count!
* * *
PREDICTING THE FUTURE
* Guess how many pieces of mail you will receive on any given day.
* Guess how many of your colleagues at work will be wearing ties/ hoop earrings/ black shoes/ skirts/ hats etc. Pick a different item each day for variety.
* When the phone rings, guess if the caller will be male or female, young or old, someone you know or a stranger, pleasant or cantankerous!
* When you're out shopping, guess how much your receipt will come to. Guess what the salesperson's name is.
* When you're driving, guess what the car in front of you is going to do next.
* * *
The idea is to guess by *asking your intuition for answers*.
Then simply go with your first impressions. Don't second guess yourself and try not to change your mind. The more times you attempt these and similar exercises, the more your intuition will guide you and the easier it will be for you to listen and accept it.
Keep in mind that being 'right' isn't the only objective, although obviously that will make you feel terrific!
The important point to remember is that by allowing your intuition (your gut feelings and first impressions) to guide you, sooner or later you will become so 'tuned in' to it that your guesses will become more and more accurate. And then you really WILL be able to predict the future. How cool is that?
Once you're able to follow your intuition you'll automatically become more receptive to psychic stimuli, whatever the source. That means it will be easier for you to access your clairvoyant and telepathic skills.
Remember, clairvoyance refers to the psychic ability to have visions, whether these are actually seen with the eyes or experienced through the third eye. Telepathy is of course the proper name for what has become more widely known as mind reading.
Now, mind reading is not a new thing...
People have been doing it for centuries. You yourself have probably had the same thought as another person at the same time. They might have even remarked to you something like 'you must be psychic!' And they were right: you are!
Unlike some of your other psychic powers, mind reading requires at least two people, a sender and a receiver. Naturally you don't need to read your own mind, so there has to be at least one other person involved. You'll probably discover that at first you're better at one aspect than the other, in other words that you find it easier to send or receive messages. But with practice you can learn to do both equally well.
You can use this simple exercise to find out which one of these is your stronger talent.
* * *
MIND READING SKILLS TESTER
* When the phone rings, if you know who's on the other end before you pick it up, you're probably a good receiver.
* If you're thinking about someone close to you and they get in touch with you soon afterwards, particularly if it's sooner than they would normally do so, then you're probably a good sender.
* * *
As you can see, none of the exercises are overly complicated, and neither are they filled with ritualistic nonsense or confusing jargon. They're practical, down to earth things you can do almost anywhere and at any time of day. But the best part is that your skills will improve immediately once you start practicing.
Here's another exercise you can try, and this one MUST be performed when you're out and about, hopefully in the biggest shopping mall you can find.
* * *
GROUP MIND READING EXERCISE
* Sit in a coffee shop or restaurant at one end of a shopping mall while your friends or family go off and get on with their shopping.
* Give them time to disappear, and then set off when you're ready to find them.
* Focus on your thought energy and concentrate on one person at a time.
* Visualize the person's face and imagine the sound of their voice.
* Send your thought energy out to the person you're looking for.
* Listen and feel for any response to your thought energy.
* As soon as you get any kind of signal, go where it takes you.
* * *
Once again, this exercise is practical and straight forward. All it requires is a bit of effort on your part. It may take you some time to achieve real proficiency at this, but think how fantastic it will feel when you've accomplished it!
In the fourth and final installment I'll be revealing some of the features contained in your "Psychic Toolkit", including the seven tools and techniques you can use to solve ANY PROBLEM. I'll also give you some tips on how to activate your third eye, the source of all your psychic power.
Welcome to the fourth and final installment of your Be-Psychic! mini-course!
I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into some of the secrets of the psychic world -- and how you can use your personal power to lead a better and more fulfilling life.
In the first part of the mini-course, we shattered the myths surrounding your psychic abilities, abilities you were born with. Then in the second installment, we looked at the basic ingredients for meditation and gave you your first simple exercise to help you focus. The third part of the course revealed how you can see into the future and provided you with some preliminary techniques on mind reading.
In this final installment, I'm going to chat about one of the unique features of my "Be Psychic!" course --
- The Psychic Toolkit!
This kit contains seven different techniques to help you get the most from your psychic abilities. Each one comes with its own exercises or a how-to guide enabling you to make use of them INSTANTLY.
These tools and techniques will help you get answers to any question, discover secrets about people's personalities, create your own future, communicate with spirits, improve your relationships and much, much more. You'll also find out methods to combine techniques for more power and effectiveness.
One of these techniques is called Dowsing, a form of divination which has become quite commonplace over the years. We've all seen someone dangling a wedding ring from a piece of thread over a pregnant woman's belly, in an attempt to tell if the unborn child will be a boy or a girl; or the man with a fork-shaped stick trying to locate water in the desert.
These are both examples of how psychic techniques have become interwoven into the fabric of everyday life.
* * *
HOW TO DOWSE
The dowsing technique is one of the simplest ways to get answers from the psychic world. To make your own 'pendulum' all you need to do is to suspend a wedding ring, earring, or any other object which has significance to you from a piece of thread or thin string. Then you ask questions that you already know the answers to, taking note of which way the pendulum swings when the answer is 'yes' and which way it moves when the answer is 'no'. Once you understand the Yes/No responses, you can confidently ask your questions and trust that the answers you receive are genuine.
So go on - try it yourself!
* * *
Let's move on now -- and if you've ever been to a medium, you'll know that he or she may use some of these tools and techniques to gain information about a client before performing a reading.
The "Be Psychic!" course includes a whole week's worth of material devoted entirely to the subject of mediumship, and as if that wasn't enough, the section concludes with instructions on how to contact your own spirit guides -- easily and safely!
Now, most mediums make contact with the spirit world through clairvoyance and other psychic methods. In the last installment we referenced the third eye, also known as the brow chakra, located in the center of the forehead. (If you're not sure what chakras are, don't worry: they are explained in detail in the first part of the "Be Psychic!" course.)
This brow chakra is a psychic's most powerful link with the psychic energy and the energy of the spirit world. And so it makes sense that you need to be able to 'open' your third eye and let those energies in.
I've included plenty of exercises to help make it as easy as possible for you to open your third eye and access your sixth sense and clairvoyant skills.
Here's just one technique you can use to stimulate and gently open your third eye...
* * *
STIMULATING YOUR THIRD EYE
* Close your eyes and relax.
* Do some deep breathing to help you focus.
* Keep your eyes closed and try to picture the third eye (or brow chakra) located in the center of your forehead.
* Imagine a beam of light coming -into- the brow chakra and opening it up gently from outside.
* Keep calm and try not to force anything. Let the light enter your third eye and expand within it.
* Remain relaxed and try to get a sense of what you are feeling.
* * *
Using simple and effective techniques such as this, you'll soon be able to tap into your psychic potential -- just as easily as you can dial a telephone number or read a book.
It'll become your literal sixth sense. When you open yourself up to your own amazing potential, you'll be able to easily read minds, predict the future, Astral Travel, and heal people and animals!
Was there ever a course that gave you so many ways to develop and use your psychic skills as quickly and efficiently as this?
* I personally don't think so! *
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about what the Be Psychic! course contains and how it can help you to tap into your natural psychic powers. I hope you enjoyed this four-part mini course and that it has whetted your appetite to explore your potential even further through the complete course.
I was the last person to believe in psychicy stuff, but since so many people were talking about it all through history of human kind, at one point I was thinking that maybe theres some truth behind it. So anyway, I started trying it out, and the more I try it out the more it works! It still could be coincidence, so I'm not drawing any conclusions until I have near 100% success rate. But for the short time I've been practicing it, it's given results quite fast, but my mind still refuses to believe it.
I figured out, theres no point in doubting or believing, I will have to find out for myself through practice. Because personal experience is the only way to be sure..
That mini-course you posted is very interesting Sandform, I wish I read that part about meditation earlier, I can confirm thats very true... it's amazing how much bullshit goes around about meditating.
I saw this Mexican guy on TV who coud shoot like 10cm of blue lighting sparks out of his fingertips. Realy awesome
When i was younger i woud set 5 ancient cans all different of size in front of me, in the first littlest can i woud put a little white ball, i woud take a step backwards and say som random shit and when i looked back in the can the ball woud be gone and i looked in the 4 other ones and in 1 of them was the ball. Though i cant do this anymore for som reason when i didnt do it for a couple of years. I learned this from my cousin i first didnt believed it he showed me it and i thought it was som trick, wich seemed it wasnt after i tried it, i always did it when i was bored and never failed.
Ive always believed you can do anything you want, even the so called "impossible things" cos, we were made by God like God. Though you may come short with your life as som may take tenthousands of years of practise and understanding. Im gonna try them when i die
um...i'm not reading those huge posts...what are they about?
but they are soooo long! :chuckle:
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooo? What is your point i mean come on you have to read them to learn something! And i thought I was the lazy one.
I dance with spirit wolves often, it is quite liberating, but only if you're naked.
i'm just teasing jeez...
So am I! ;P
Dance ninja monkeys! Dance!
That "Be Psychic" kit that the mini-course is from looks like it has a lot of good stuff. The only thing is it's $99, and that's $99 over my current budget. Also, I'm weary of such things being possible scams. But the site looked legit. One day when I find I have an extra Benjamin laying around, I'll probably buy it. If it does turn out to be a scam, at least I wasted my money on something potentially worth investing in.
If anyone knows for sure if that stuff is legit or not, let me know :P
I've heard/read many times that such occurences are more common during puberty/among adolescence or begin in adolescence. I believe it was said it is because during puberty your brain becomes more active, and you use parts that you haven't before. Also because your emotions tend to go wild, and strong emotions can open up new things I guess. Its also shown that 'poltergeists' tend to occur within the households of adolescent girls more common than any other environment. And that the activity usually mostly involves the girls. >.>
Come on people! Don't tell me I've tapped your psychic-y knowledge already!
lulz lets hope not..........thats some radioactive raccoon to make you grow a third eye not to mention i would hate to even read about someone doing that.witnessing it would be absolutely horrible. XD
Thank you ray for being sane. Lol.
Does anyone have anything elsse to add? Any stories or additional knowledge or.... ANYTHING??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Everyone has a third eye... Everyone. Believe and it will become more apparent to you..
I'm not telling you the experience will be wholly enjoyable, the more you pick up and understand the more bad vibes you may feel...
You will most likely question yourself about what you're doing and what others are doing..
I Guess I Believe
The majority of "psychics" live their life exploiting peoples weakness for their own financial gain, doubt people given supernatural gifts, abilities, thank that higher power by charging 20 an hour for their time.
Money is like a sixth sense and you can't make use of the other five without it-W.S.M
I believe in it, I've had too many weird things going on for the past three months. I have empathy, I've been affecting devices, I have a high sensing ability which I had ever since I was really little. I can see auras in the dark, and sometimes in the day. In the day I usually just see a little glow around every living thing and dots/sometimes a mist of color (not an image after effect). I have always been able to feel energy inside my body, and I know how to heal a little bit. Sometimes I will feel someone's pain. I have had precognition/visions not often, but will have them. I have a voice in my head, and I so far have ignored it every single time and did the opposite Dx.

Come on guys. This can't be it.......
I believe that some people are more in tune with faculties of the mind that are rarely used in mainstream society; I have had instances where I was in a conversation with one or more people and thought something really off the wall, and then suddenly had someone say almost exactly what I was thinking immediately afterward.
Now, the interesting thing about this is that everytime this has happened it has been in a lull in the conversation and had nothing to do with whatever we may have been talking about before then. So it is not a case of thinking about something obvious that occurs to more than one person at once in the natural course of a conversation.
As for TV psychics, I believe that any psychic that charges for their services is a conniving huckster.
u peeps already knowz my viewz. lulz :P
While im here I might as well ask a question thats been bothering me for a long time.....
Is having that creepy feeling of deja vu a lot an indicator of psychic abilities or am i just weird like that?
Just wierd like that. Deja Vu is mostly a slight and temporary chemical imbalance in the hypothalamus. An excess of a particular chemical excites the memory center causing a feeling that what you are currently experiencing is a memory.
'Course, that doesn't mean you're NOT psychic. It's like the old saying goes, "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you."
Afaik, deja vu can't be scientifically explained yet, that's just a speculation what you said there. Who knows, maybe you just had a dream where you had a false awakening, lived your day like you would normally, and then forget about that dream. Then you woke up for real, lived your day like would normally. And somewhere, along the day, when the dream memory pops up because you are in a similar setting, you might experience this as a deja-vu. I think this explanation is way more logical than "a glitch in the brains" which doesn't explain anything at all really.
I think deja vu has more likely explanations rooted in how we lay down our short term and long term memory.
In light of Jamais vu, not feeling like you've known/done something you have done or known before, I think it is clear that our short term and long term memory can be faulty and create odd experiences. Certainly Jamais vu has nothing to do with not dreaming something before.
Considering we know Jamais vu to be a memory fault, I don't see why dreaming about something before is more logically likely to be the cause of deja vu. Certainly people can dream of things before they happen but since memory interplay can cause odd things and certain pharmaceutical drugs increase deja vu occurrence I think dreams aren't the more logical explanation to turn to.
Certainly the dream would have to be more than a similar setting since we don't get deja vu every time we wake up or watch a rerun on television or go to work in the morning.
Scientifically speaking, our memory is perfect, as demonstrated when under hypnosis. Access to our memory however is limited, as demonstrated when you try to remember your dreams but can't, but suddenly along the day the memory pops up... it's because it's always been there and doesn't go away. Access to memory is associated to a certain state of mind. When you dream you can't access your waking memory, when you are awake, you can't access your dreaming memory. Knowing that our memory works through association (when I you see a heart, you think love), you could conclude, that the triggering of a dream memory only could happen when that dream memory is similar to the waking experience, which would explain the deja vu phenomena.
You could also explain deja vu's as a day dream you had in a flash, your subconscious predicting the situation and dreaming an outcome. But I really fail to understand how you can explain deja vu's as a mere glitch when they are so accurate? If deja vu's were a glitch, they should be random, not predicting exactly what is going to happen right? Instead of trying to explain deja vu's most people seem to be trying to explain deja vu's as a glitch. It must be a glitch. It can't possibly be that our human brain actually can predict the future! But that's exactly what happens right? Maybe there simply isn't any explanation, and our subconscious mind is simply able to predict a possible future, just like we are able to do so with our logic and reason.. for example it's not hard to predict that atleast one person is going to disagree with me :P
First of all this is wrong. When you are sleeping you can most certainly access your "waking' memory. You can even remember what day it is in the real world. Memory is not "perfect" and Hypnosis merely enhances memory and not even to a large degree. Furthermore hypnosis has been known to produce false or distorted memories. Memory of dreams is similar to short term memory of anything else in the world.
I'm assuming you base this assumption on the fact that some people can "remember" some things from their past that is very long ago with things like hypnosis and electrical stimuli. But the thing is it only demonstrates that some things are kept as long term memory. It doesn't demonstrate that everything is kept as long term memory.
What do you mean deja vu is accurate?
Deja vu is the opposite of accurate. It is an extremely vague feeling of "I feel like I've done this before." There are no real predictions made by deja vu but rather people fooled into thinking they have made a prediction. For example someone might say "oh I had deja vu I knew you were going to say that" but yet in the same scenario if they had been pressed to they wouldn't have been able to finish the sentence.
We already know memory has its faults and can create odd experiences. Why say that a thing which obviously has its root in memory because it revolves around "remembering" something is anything more than an odd experience caused by how we process this memory?
As I said, certainly you can have a dream of a thing happening before it happens, but this occurrence would be extremely rare, and certainly there are normal things that happen in your day to day life from the past that are far more similar to what is happening than what was in your dream of which things are constantly dissimilar to reality.
In other words, why not leave it at memory problems and nix the idea that the only memories deja vu deal with are dream memories?
Maybe for you, deja vu is a very vague feeling, for me its a very clear memory and even to the point I can sometimes say the words before the other person can. That's why it seems to me that it's not just a glitch. And that thing about perfect memory is not an assumption. You can see this in the case were people are born handicapped, giving them unlimited access to their memory. Sure, you could reason that these handicapped people suddenly leaped ahead 100000 years in evolution and therefore have superior memory than the average human, or you could reason that normal human beings already have a perfect memory, but for evolutionary purposes our brains limits access.
EDIT: Screw it, this conversation isn't going to go anywhere. It is just more of this person who makes an unsubstantiated claim vs. someone wanting them to prove it. Believe what you like Chayba, I don't care if you prove it to me or not anymore.
Errr.... I was going to say I just had a deja vu today and actually said something totally off the wall that happened a few seconds later..... but uh back to psychicy stuff I guess..
It's not a "glitch", it's just a simple out-of-balance mixture of Glycine (a neuro inhibitor) and Cholecystokinin (a response modulator).
There was a study done in the early 80's by a group of Neurologists at St. Louis University Hospital just breaking into the Brain Mapping field that was able to reproduce Deja Vu feelings in individuals with intracranial EEG electrodes by disrupting the flow of those particular chemicals.
It was quite by accident as the Neurologists were actually working on Epilepsy patients and trying to control seizure disorders.
I know this because I was a part of the study.
I read about that study more than once. I've been telling people for a long time that deja vu and psychic arent together.
But what causes the out-of-balance mixture? You just gave deja vu a chemical name, you didn't explain anything at all. It's like someone would ask, how do you explain love? And you would answer, oh it's a simple matter of chemical out-of-balance of dopamine. Sorry, but that's not an explanation, it's only giving it a different name.
I dont see what would make somebody think deja vu means your psychic. Natural psychics btw, to my knowledge, experience deja vu anymore than a normal person.
I don't see how deja vu means you're psychic either :P Everyone is psychic. Some people just are able to make their psychic abilities conscious, just like we make our dreaming abilities conscious. Everyone dreams, but only a very few remember their dreams, and even less are in control of their dreams. I think it's the same with psychics..
i think deja vu gets mixed up with psychic stuff with me because i have pre-cog. dreams and just before i realize that i had a dream about what is about to,or is happening, i get deja vu then remember my dream but other times its just normal deja vu.this is just me though so i have really have no idea why other people get it mixed up. :P i know extremely unhelpful as always.
Ok. I think I follow you. Let me see if I understand...
Using this argument, you could then posit the following: Bacteria and Viruses don't make us sick. They are simply the material manifestations of "other wordly" causes such as Soul Loss, Hexes, Curses, Spiritual Attack, etc.
Is this accurate?
Deja Vu and Psychic visions are too different things.
Psychic visions are more clear, you usually have some detail... A Deja Vu would be a vague feeling.
No I don't think you understand. What I mean is the following; It would be like explaining the cause of sickness as "a chemcial out-of-balance" which happens when sick. That's a true explanation, but it is not a helpful explanation. A better explanation would be that it is your body getting red of the unwanted bacteria s what is making you feel sick.
You reason, because deja vu always happens together with a chemical out-of-balance, that it is this chemical out-of-blance that is the cause for deja vu. Love does also always happen together with a chemical out-of-balance, following your line of reasoning, the cause of love is a chemical out-of-balance. That would mean that before you can fall in love, you would first have to have this random chemical out-of-balance occur, and only then, when there's a girl around, you can fall in love with her. I hope you see, if you apply your reasoning to more known phenomena, that it is obviously flawed.
So the deja vu's people have which were not a vague but accurate feeling and which are frequently reported, are actually psychic visions on the spot? Why wouldn't you be able to explain the deja vu's which are a vague feeling as a vague psychic vision? What would be the difference here?
That's the problem it's a case by case basis. You'd have to judge it when it happens. If you are having a true psychic recognition you should be very aware of whats going on, actually able to picture the scenario in your head or know the words being spoken or specific details. Deja vu is a kind of passing feeling where you walk into a room or into a place and get a sense of being here before.. It's less detailed.
Psychic visions aren't always super-detailed but you can really remember something about it, not just the feeling that it happened before..
Hard to explain...
According to those definitions, I never have had a deja vu, and I've only had psychic visions :P I think you get lost in definitions too much. I just classify any deja vu as a deja vu. Deja vu means, already seen. A psychic vision could also be a deja vu.

So you could explain the cause of every single thing happening in the brain as a chemical imbalance, which is correct, but doesn't explain anything at all really, it's just giving it a different name.
I'm inclined to say these kinds of things are real.
It's been said, but in my opinion it comes down to being in touch with--and lending credibility to--your instincts.
I don't know for sure if I can really do that sort of thing...
But regardless of whether it's real or not, I generally make attempts to use mind powers as much as possible.
Hafta keep 'em sharp somehow, on the chance that they do exist.
:alien:
Actually, that's not completely accurate. "Thoughts" so far as we can tell, are more electrical impulses than chemical in nature. The impulses are regulated, controled and directed by certain chemicals and amino acids, but the chemicals or combinations of them are not "thoughts" themselves and therefore thoughts do not necesarily cause changes in neuro-chemistry.
Of course, there is the effect of bio-feedback which has gone quite a way in documenting the mind's power over the mechanical functioning of the body, so I suppose if you wished to make the argument that our subconcious is controlling our physiology, I couldn't prove you wrong.
Just for the record, I believe that everything that happens to us in a physical sense is a reflection or manifestation of something from a energetical sense. So, if you were to argue that Deja Vu is somehow a manifestation of some energetical occurance that operationally occurs as an imbalance of Glycine and Cholesytokinin, then I would say you're probably right. Now, if you knew what that energetical occurance might mean for you in an energetical sense, THEN you'd have something.
If you figure it out, let me know.
You both realise you lost any casual observers (and me) With this over-my-head-conversation
It didn't lose me.
Just re-read it. Slowly.
Now I'm interested.
I've always wondered where deja-vu comes from...
P.S. - see below.
I'm just trying to point out that listing the energetic or chemical changes in the brain while deja vu occurs isn't explaning deja vu at all. It's like you would explain dreaming as a chemical imbalance in the brain. Sure, it's true, but it doesn't make us any wiser.
"Why do we dream? Because of a chemical imbalance in the brain." That doesn't explain us anything. It would be more interesting to figure out the functional reasoning of dreams. Same with Deja Vu.
i don't know if you would consider this psychic, intuition, or coincidence.. but I find it interesting. Sometimes when I'm listening to my playlist on itunes (i only have 1 list with about 200+ songs on it) when the song comes to an end I might think of the intro to another song and then that song starts playing next. The playlist is on Random and it could be a coincidence, but for some reason I wanted the song to play and I heard it in my head at least 10 seconds before it started.
I should also mention that a few other times i've heard a song in my head like this but the next song was not the one I predicted.
A possible explanation for being able to predict the song is that some programs have very bad random number generators, using the same random seed each time and using the same random number function generator each time, and as a result the random sequence will always be the same. Maybe subconsciously, if you listened to that playlist a lot, you memorized that sequence and thats why you can guess what song is next. This was alteast the case for me and Winamp, maybe it's the same for you and Itunes.
De ja vu is just a sense of familiarity, like you've experienced it before.
It can be the result of several reasons: Either you've experienced it before but just don't remember, you dreamt it, thought it, or it reminds you have an experience or moment that's very similar. It doesn't have to be an experience or moment, it can be something very small within that moment or experience, like objects, people, scents, etc.
As for the question. can't remember if I've answered this:
Slight empath, I've also experienced most of the clairs at one point or another, except scent and taste.
ever since i believe i opened my 3rd eye ive experienced with some strange and regular/ daily things. weird feelings around the top of my head, temples and just above my ears, like a tapping or buzzing. sometimes just a feeling of 'on' which i cant even begin to explain. these are usually accompanied by a silent, unacknowledged usually though confirmed, communication of feelings, vibes or thoughts.
This is strongest with my immediate family, though i have more control over it in their presence, why i have no bloody idea, and around friends where its more active.
Its not like i can pick out what theyre thinking word for word but i get a vibe and then seconds later theyll speak out loud the vibe i just picked up. some say this is body language but its more than that. i have worn my hat over my eyes completely and still the same thing. how can i read what i cant see? and with such accuracy?
Also weed and ecstasy magnifies it. they didnt before i 'clicked' but ever since i cant smoke or ill hear voices and get the impression they can hear my internal dialogue for maybe a kilometer or two at the furthest. usually its just a few feet but sometimes it can reach to my best mate when hes at the other end of the house. i believe we've spoken like this many times.
One other curiosity, this may be coinsidence but it seems to me that alot of my asian friends are more clued into this than other friends of mine. strange but i guess the asian race has always been quite spiritual in their own way.
Im prepared to be flamed, ive copped it alot before but i have no reason to make anything up or embellish anything.
Take what you will from this, hopefully some of you will know exactly what im talking about.

Could be possible.
I'm Asian. :) Although a good chunk of Asians (both in Asia and living in the Western world) are various forms of Christians or Muslim. A bigger portion is either Hindu or Buddhist. Hindus and Buddhist in general are a spiritual(yes, there is a difference between being spiritual and being religious) base belief. Even those Asians that have been converted centuries ago can't really forget their heritage. My viet friends are all catholic and they were told that it's a sin to believe in reincarnation, that dreams are just dreams, etc. but yet, a lot of their folklore talks about all these things and these stories are still being told to their children, generation after generation. Their cultural holidays celebrate and honor the things that their religion tells them is wrong to believe.
I'm totally reviving this thread! I have new information! Apperently there's this branch of psychic-y stuff dubbed psi. Something else to google. Plus I have some1 who claims to be semi-competent at it able to post here and explain it/ provide links. :D
(Would have had monster reborn card pic here but cant get damn thing to work :P)
Also once again any new peoples opinons + any new information is helpful.
well i'm not sure about providing links but i'll answer any questions you have about Psi or Psionics...
I think I may be an "empath" and an "clairvoyant". Ever since I know myself, I can tell that I can "feel" someone's mood/intentions, not "focusing" "energy" or stuff like that, more like a distinct feeling, like actually experiencing what the person is doing. I always thought that this could be an sign that I could be an great psychologist ( I actually want to become one :D ), but now I am starting to doubt if it's just plain instinct.
I think I may be clairvoyant, because sometimes I can dream tiny bits of the "future" sometimes and have lots of deja-vus (once I dreamed large parts of a day which matched 100%! with the real life thing). Also, sometimes I show incredible acts of agility, without even thinking of doing that action.
i know what you mean on picking up others feeling and intentions. I get that too. I also do dream about odd things i find meaningless, then eventually i'll be living that dream. Once dreamed about watching Jeopardy.. a few days later my rents and i were watching it and i knew i had seen that one before, knew a bunch of answers i shouldntve, and my parents thought i watched it earlier, though i honestly hadnt. As for deja vu, yea, get that all the time too, i just never think much of it.. Even though while im havin deja vu, i know exactly what's coming next, and who'a going to say what. Sorta spooky sometimes.
