The Experiences of Near Death
The source of the near death experience is the testimony of individuals. The NDE is first and foremost then, an experience. You can argue all night long about the objective experience of the NDE. But science isn't any position to argue what these individuals did or did not experience. The best a scientist can do is hook these individuals up on a lie detector and see if they made it all up.
A scientist can try to explain what physical processes in the brain created the experience.
But for this, one first has to examine the subjective experience of the NDE. For those of you too lazy to do it yourself, you've got me! If you'll give me time. There are nearly 1000 experiences recorded on the website I am quoting from. I'm not any where near done!
The purpose of this thread then is to share these NDEs. And show examples of everything experienced in the NDE, from the classic tunnel, to the not so classic 360 degree vision. Or show examples that defy religios beliefs, such as a homosexual experiencing heaven.
Please have some respect for these individuals, with an open mind, try not to insult their intelligence. Once our minds are fully awake in the morning, we have the intelligence and reason to distinguish dreaming and waking. These individuals claim their experience is not a dream. That their experience was real.
Yet they wake up every morning and still call their dream a dream.
This thread is not to debate whether or not their experience was real. But to understand why these individuals would feel their experience is real. To understand how their experience is vastly different from normal dreams and hallucinations. And to understand how their experience effected them emotionally or mentally.
I'll start you off with some themes in the next post :flyaway:
