OMG SUCCESS, but i have 2 important questions.

So, let me just say THANK YOU DREAMVIEWS :D! thanks to you i got my first TRUE lucid dream with full consciousness BUT... little dream control. Unlike the first 8 semi lucid dreams i had before, i had control of what i was doing :D Here are my quetions.

1) how do dreams end. Long story :D
2) How do i get more dream control. The narration technique didn't work and my dream was SO dark and the lights wouldn't work. And since i was being chased down by 4 criminals and they were beating me up and...... OW!

Congrats man! As for your questions, dreams end when your REM period is over with... OR if your doing to much at a time in a LD, I.E changing a lot of things at once, chaotic stuff etc can end dreams. Dream control is ALL based on expectation. I'll prob get flamed for this, but here we go. Dreams don't have boundaries, they don't have laws, they don't have science. Dreams are your mind. All the stuff you've read on this site has made you believe that you have to narrate your dream to have control, or that you have to touch stuff and look around. You have come to believe that there is a certain way to attain dream control. Your dream is in your head, so why would you HAVE to do that stuff? True expectation and belief is what defines control, plain and simple.

But for question 1 thats not what i meant. Thanks for your Dream Control answer :D. In Q1 i meant, in the dream, what happens to end your dream? My dream just sorta ended weirdly.

They just fade out, you lose the feeling of control, as you just return back to the idle feeling of watching a dream as usual. You don't get a big good bye or a text book film ending, you just fizzle out when you REM period is over, which can happen in the middle of a free fall, just before you get to where you wanted to go, or sometimes if you are really unlucky, 5 seconds in to your lucid.

When you REM period ends, its game over, no matter what you are doing. You can usually end the dream by doing lots of stuff and basically doing too much for yourself to control. When you lucid, you are handed the reins. If you can't control it, it's gone.

Yeah, I'm not sure what exactly gameoverlord is trying to ask, but when dreams end, it's pretty abrupt, in a regular dream for me, it's like I'm there, then I'm awake with my eyes open, no warning or anything. With lucids, my control will start to fade, stuff gets blurry, you can just tell it's sliping away, BUT, this doesn't always mean your REM period is over. LD's can end in the middle of a REM stage. This is why I recommend learning the DEILD, that way, when you notice the dream fading and you start feeling yourself waking up, you can prepare for a DEILD.

I actually had a funny/weird way of ending a dream this morning. I was in my bed, on my right side. I'm not sure if it was a false awakening, as I remember feeling a jaguar or something under my bed, clawing at my mattress. I remember thinking the if I let S.P. come on it would go away. I did, the S.P. was instant, and I woke up 1 second into it, lying on my left side.

I don't think this was a F.A., as I didn't wake up in the dream and think I woke up, I just dreamed about being in bed.

Still, I'm counting this as progress!

Aw sweet, I'm mere days away now. I wouldn't mind it if I had to wait longer, if the LD was going to be long then. I would wait for a longer LD, and pass up an early short one.

mine was about 10 minutes and very vivid.... espacially the chase part with the criminals.... he looked creepy :( LOL

Couldn't you change the dream? It would suck if you were stuck in a lucid but couldn't do anything, and had to sit through random crap or even a nightmare.

This is why i asked the question. It was my best LD when it comes to control. I had full consciousness and i could think normally and walk normally. Better than my other semi lucids where i was still in 'dream mode' where i knew i was dreaming but had no consciousness. In this dream the best i could do was walk outta the house and get chased by freaks who fought me. kinda cool battle, but i was being cowardly :/. On of them grabbed my shoulders and other grabbed my feet. one of em was fighting me while i was kicking him repeatedly. Soon i started saying ' PLEASE IM INNOCENT and blah blah blah' :D

Well at least there is no pain or fear. When ever I have a nightmare like that, I just feel an "ominous" feeling throughout, not actual pain. Same for fear. Its not like "Oh my god this is scary" its more "When is this going to be over, this is unpleasant."

I have pain and fear :/ My first nightmare ever and it was a Lucid dream FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I never have pain, sometimes fear. I remember once being ambushed by a pack of black wolves, one bit into my arm, but it honestly felt like my dog at home biting it, and she is very tame, it barely even squishes the skin, you know? Thats what pain feels like to me, dialed down to practically nothing.

Fear for me is either just a bad feeling, or the sorta scared-to-frozen feeling, but without the conscious "oh crap oh crap oh crap" going through your head.

The pain wasnt that big of a deal, it didnt hurt that much. I was scared as hell. I was more hurting from running away so much :/

Jesus, thats a bad one. Either that, or I don't get dreams as bad as other people. The only times I have ever been as scared as that in bed was coming out of sleep into S.P. twice and seeing a growling dog on me for a split second. Scared the pants off me, but now I know what it is.

Yes it was, but no more than your average nightmare. It was scary mostly because I was about 6 or 7 at the time. If I saw them now, I would be shocked, but afterwards there would be no fear. Just the immediate surprise, then nothing. I would almost consider it a good thing, as it's a step up from just dreaming each night.

Oh yeah i had a sleep paralysis 'nightmare' b4 when i was 5. I saw bender from futurama and other robots robbing everything in our house :/

That more comedic then mine I'd say!

yeah LOL. I screamed and my mom came saying 'WHAT HAPPENED' and i said 'there are robots everywhere' -.-

Oh well, you were young. At least now it's not a case of nightmares, more the potential from enjoyment. You have already had 9 LDs, thats 9 more than me. But I am close, I know it. Not to be rude, but number of LDs does not prove anything. It just shows how long you have been practicing. However, with each LD you become more aware and in control. I can see you controlling your dreams even more from now on, more so than I will in my first, I think.

Possibly yeah, but some people are better than others. My first LD was such a small one its not even funny :D

I actually had an LD before, but I don't count it as I was not really in control, and it happened years ago. Typical flying one, over some cliffs in a kind of windy overcast time of day. I flew around the cliffs, over the sea, until a black thing dragged me down by my legs, and then I woke up. Lasted a while, about 15 mins I think.
