Any thoughts on how to raise awareness from a low level lucidity?

So, I've managed to attain lucidity 8 times in my dreams as of right now, yet in everyone of them I seem to experience a very low level of lucidity. It's a little hard to explain but, the best way I can think of it is that I kind of feel very sleepy :yawnorama: when I get lucid. I mean, you know when you feel sleepy it's like you can't think straight, or your focus is a little off and you don't feel like doing anything. Well, that seems to happen to me whenever lucidity arises. Also, usually whenever I get lucid I try moving around to explore the dream world. However, the low level lucidity causes me to shift back and forth between both the dream world and waking reality, so that whenever I try moving it feels as if I'm trying to move my actual body in bed and not my dream body. :wtf: When this happens I encounter SP and my whole body is incapable of moving while in the dream. The low level lucidity also collapses the dream within seconds of becoming aware of the situation. Is this something that's best to exceed with more experience or practice, or is there something else I can apply to solve this particular situation?

I know it's a problem of dream control and stabilization, but many of the stabilization techniques require some type of movement, but my freaking body won't move! :whyohwhy: Maybe I'm rushing things a bit; perhaps it's best if I don't move at all for now and focus on getting used to the experience of being aware in a dream, instead of rushing out to play as soon as I get lucidity.

It's just there's so many stuff I want to start doing in my dreams right now! :morecrying:

But I'm not losing hope people, I'm getting through this either way. There's no stopping me having my lucid dreams now, even if I have to take this a step at a time!

Hi,

Movement during stabilization is not a mandatory
The whole purpose of stabilization is to drag you away from awakening and keep inside the dream
There are many ways to do that without moving as original tutorial provided:
- Interacting with the dream world (by making use of senses)
- Focusing attention in one particular element of the dream
- Looking intensively at one's hands or body parts
- Doing verbal commands (yelling "Stabilize now!", etc.)
Also you can try to get on basics of DEILD Technique
It will allow you re-enter dream in most cases if you will be unable to stabilize before dream crashes.

When in risk of moving your physical body you can try to levitate, move by thoughts or visualize your dream body moving

Stabilization might solve problem with sensing real body i belive
It might be the case that your feeling physical body because dream is destabilizing
If that's true then you can use 'Sudden Sensing Waking Body' as a sign to use stabilization technique which would be kinda cool
Experiment with stabilization and if that won't solve the issue i can give you a couple of ideas :)

DEILD is Simplified WILD
It works the same way

Your keeping consciousness while your body falls asleep

There are many ways to DEILD
Some people might be able to DEILD after natural awakening
Unfortunely natural awakening one does not seems to work at all for me
I'm able to DEILD thought from Destabilized Dreams (Lucid Dreams & probably Nightmares)
Also from dreams that were interrupted by using alarm that turns itself off automaticly (Aka CAN-WILD)

The crticial point for DEILDs seems to be waking up during active REM Phase, so we can easily slip back into dream
That's why i'm using three alarms:
1st Rings after 7 hours and 10 - 30 minutes
2nd Rings 30 - 35 minutes after first one
3rd Rings 30 - 35 minutes after second one

I haven't had any lucid dreams yet from DEILD during last five days of attempts
Furthest i've reached was strong uncomfortability strike & WILD Transition Sensations

Either way imo DEILD seems to be more fun than WILD :cheeky:
I had way too much troubles with retaining awareness at WILD

Yeah, but to be honest those effects are pretty cool imo :cheeky:

I wouldn't call Sleep Paralysis encountered during WILDs an absolute paralysis
Correct name for this kind of paralysis we might meet during WILDs is REM Atonia
It in fact just makes it a little harder to move (Atleast for me)
With enough conscious effort i can easily break out of it.

Along with possiblity of 'REM Atonia' you may encounter other WILD Noise (Vibrations, Hypnagonic Stuff etc.)

Right off the bat i'm gonna try to summon my "personal spiritual partner" to experiment on dream control a bit, it's gonna be done in a flashy way but can't help it..

Yeah, guess I just find myself always wanting to go out and run into the dream world without first stabilizing it. You're right though, it's most likely the collapsing of the dream what's making me feel my physical body the moment I become lucid. I will focus more on my senses the next time I achieve lucidity before I think of doing anything else. My control of the dream isn't sufficient enough right now to stabilize it yet. Cool! That means more practice is needed, and that's something I can and will gladly do! :)

It's interesting how a very low level of lucidity takes considerable skill to get proficient at. As soon as I become lucid the state is tough to sustain; concentration and focus require discipline to retain, let alone direct it towards stabilization of the dream world and the lucid state. It's like learning to walk all over again. Well, there's nothing left for me to do but to keep on practicing!
