Losing my balance when lucid
Hello,
This is a repeating problem for me. Whenever I realize I'm dreaming I loose my balance and have problem keeping on my feet. I've tried spinning and rubbing my hands to counter this. But it doesn't work. I always end up falling and either loosing my awareness of the dream or waking up.
Typical example: Like this night I was having a wonderful dream where I had just spent some time making out to a girl. I was standing in my bathroom thinking about the wonderful girl laying in my bed upstairs. Then I thought to myself: «This is the kind of situation it would make sense to do a reality check even though I'm 100% sure I'm not dreaming» (Those dreams always seem so real, hah) . I did a nose RC. Result - positive? «I can't believe it. I can't be dreaming!» Once more - positive once again. «OK, so I'm dreaming... what to do? I'll go outside. Have some fresh air. Haven't tried that before.»
But immediately after stepping out side my front door, I start raving about. No balance at all. I end up falling on the ground disappearing into darkness. Dream over.
Another problem I have when I figure out I'm dreaming is that I sometimes just exit the dream I'm currently at and end up trapped in my bed. I thought it might be sleep paralysis. But things are happening around me that kind of proves I'm still dreaming. I've managed once to get out of this state walking about in my bedroom. But then I loose my balance.
Have anyone else had similar problems keeping control over their own body once becoming lucid? Does any have any good suggestions what to do about these problems? Like I said spinning and rubbing my hands had little effect.
