Extraterrestrial visitor

let me start off by saying, i haavnt had/been able to remember a dream ive had in years.. literally years. So when i woke up this morning i was running for a notebook. Id also like to point out, I am new to the forum, as it would have been pointless for me to be posting here a week ago due to my lack of dreaming. anyways here is everything i remember about last nights dream.

i was sitting in the back yard with 3 or 4 people(not sure whos back yard, not sure who the people are). none of them i remember who they were - i think they were just randos. I remember i was out on some sort of swing type thing with 3 people one of them being the 2 kids i was with's father. we all witnessed an alien craft that looked makesh+ift - made ou+t of wood and the dome part that was over his head was like thick clear plastic(like those clear plastic zi[pper 'bags' people put sweaters in in the spring. as soon as it landed i ran over to greet him and the visitor came out of his craft and greeted me. no one else who was in the dream before came up. the visitor was short, like maybe 6or 7 inches tall.
it came with me with little talking. i said hello, it sorta waved and then it was in my hand and i ran back to the swing to show people. only one person was there, the kids dad. he was amazed. i dont remember what i went to do but i had him hold it, i went in the house and noticed the one of the 2 kids(which at this point in the dream i recognized as a recent ex) was sleeping on the couch with her eyes open. when i came back outside, the dad and visitor were nowhere to be found. i went back to the room and the dad was laying in his bed with the cover's pulled up high smiling(sleeping w eyes open), while the visitor was in a large fish tank with a light and cover and some things scattered about, with heavy objects on it probably to keep it from escaping. the creature was 'skipping' from one end of the cage to the other. jumping up and hitting its head on the cover making a loud noise - it didnt even notice me enter the room.
this is all that i remember, i then woke up. the weird thing to mention is that i havnt remembered or had a dream in years...and when i do, i wake up all happy to tell my gf "hey, i remembered a dream last night!!!" but then even before i can spit those words out, i usually forget waht it was about. not this case. i woke up and remembered everything. walked around the house thinking about the dream for a good hour before i decided i should write it down. i cant help but think that this means something. i just wish i remembered it more clearly, or that i hadnt woken up when i did.

i remember when finding the alien, i was ecstatic - i had no feeling of fear more like, i was at ease with the fact that this was happening

the only emotion i remember feeling during the dream was excitement.

I have long believed in aliens and thought that many other people knew and that we were being kept "in the dark". personally i dont think this dream has to do with actual aliens, but that the vision of seeing an alien signifies something that is out of balance in my life. I guess to tell you about my life right now, would be pretty lack luster. im in between jobs and have been looking for a few months. i live with my gf and her parents and weve been looking for a spot for a long time, but cant due to lack of credit and due to the fact that we have 2 dogs. if there is anything else i could provide to help you analyze please feel free to ask. I'm not sure what im looking for in having this analyzed, I just think this dream muse have an important meaning for it to be remembered when every other morning i wake up with a blank mind. (which im not sure is healthy either...)

I may be wrong of course, but I wonder whether the little alien is your perception of your own subconscious. :) Since you recall your dreams so seldom, and yet are so excited whenever you do encounter them. Now in your dream your subconscious is very short, but in reality it is pretty vast, but you only see a tiny part of it thus far. You perceive it as being caged, not allowed to roam free.

Perhaps it is time for you to get to know your subconscious better so it will not be alien to you. You actually dream several dreams every single night, everyone does. Your lack of dream recall is not unusual, since most people forget their dreams. However, improving dream recall is a learnable skill. Perhaps the little aliens visited you to invite you to explore the vast unknown of your subconscious with him? :)

I think your belief that aliens are real is significant for this dream. Your mind chose this image to illustrate a point that it considers real and important but perhaps just like aliens are often not taken seriously by others, neither are dreams. But dreams can provide us important knowledge about ourselves. All the best!

MAKING ALIEN EX FRIENDLY
This was an alien idea that now greeted you in a friendly way, which was the reason for your excitement.
One of the two kids was a recent ex.
So either it is about your recent ex and she was the alien idea you wanted to make friendly, or she represented something else like this. So, resolving the break-up or becoming friends with your ex, even if in your own thoughts.
Or making a separated or alien idea friendly.

The clear dome can be how you saw through to it, that maybe you had put away like in a zipper bag. in a makeshift way. It was no permanant solution.
Unless it could be in relation to your current girlfriend, or triggered by your fear or a situation it will happen with her, and you made that alien idea friendly.
Your extraterrestrial ecstasy happens when you rid the alien or wrong idea.
But can it be your dream of leaving your makeshift parents place?

GREETING YOUR EX-traterrestrial IDEA
In the back of your mind, or your private side, you were swinging back and forth getting nowehere with it, or were swinging another way or wanting to.
The father was the main or mature thought, the two kids its offspring or ungrown versions you probably want to be like that. So you wanted your idea of your ex to grow up, which is why the alien was so small.
This includes why only you greeted the visiting thought, at first. The thought talked to you, and you said hello to it or welcomed it, so you now had it in hand.
You went back to where you could swing it, and only the fully grown thought was amazed; only that could register it and hold that thought.

WAKING YOUR EX
So you went back inside yourself and then you noticed the thought of your ex, which was slweeping but you had your eyes open to it.

JOINING WITH THE NEW IDEA TO MAKE IT GROW
So, outside of this, you could not join your new visiting idea and growing up or maturing idea, to the ex idea.
So you went back and saw that adult idea asleep with eyes open just like the ex idea, and so smiling because you knew you had the connection now, to fix it.

So the new visiting idea was now contained in you, and lit up - or you could see it. You had it covered, but it weighs you down and yu had some scattered thoughts about it, yet you were not letting it get away again. Though the idea was skipping from one side to the other, trying to escape, as it was still hard for you to contain it. The idea made a lot of noise in you, but you still didn't notice it properly. Or maybe you felt she didn't notice you.

WAKE UP and RESOLUTION
Then you woke up to where you were at in this situation.
You were on the verge of resolving the issue with your ex or being friends with her or what happened, or if it is that, but could not quite. Possibly because you tried to contain it too much, or control it. If you let the friendly alien be itself, and free, it may not have revolted the wrong way, but made a proper revolution, or turn, in you.

LIVING WITH HER PARENTS?
It doesn't seem it can be leaving your parents place which is alien and confines you and weighs you down, and perhaps the father is your girlfriend's, the two kids you two if you feel a bit undeveloped in this way. One is an ex meaning you want this to be ex, but now is sleeping or not happening, yet looking?
Yet greeting the alien idea, the dad being amazed, then smiling like the ex, doesn't fit, even if he means you. Nor the ex overall, I think.

What the dream and ex means depends what most is weighing on your mind.
Why you remembered only this dream is it was so important to you, impacts you so much, and needs resolving.
