In my dream, I was hanging out with my dad. I asked him his name and he said he was Johnny Depp. I believed him, strangely. The weird thing is I'm not even a big fan of Johnny Depp....but my dad and I fight a lot and sometimes he's kind of mean....any ideas?
It sounds like just random dream events to me. In yoru dreams memeories and ideas get fragmented and sewn together alot.
You could try interpreting this by using random association.

If I had to read anything into it... Maybe you feel like you don't know him well enough? That it'd be easy for a dream-you to accept it was somebody else.. Or if you were hanging out and having a good time, you felt like he wasn't being himself.
Or something like that. The only thing I'm sure of is that it's not going to be anything to do with Johnny Depp.

My impression is that you do not sufficiently understand your father. The differences you have with him over these details of day to day living are overshadowing a complete understanding of your father's character and motives.
Think about what your opinion is of Johnny Depp. that will help you understand your father.
Also, look at who your father's friends are, and your father's standing in the community. What do all of the neighbors think of him. His relationship with you is one thing, but look around and see what the rest of the world thinks of him. Your perspective of your father may improve with alittle bit of distance.
