Need help interpreting a serious nightmare.

Usually i can interpret my own dreams, but i can't get past the emotions of this one...

NIGHTMARE!!!!

I am at someones house with mum and dad, it looks similar to Kelly's flat. I am in the sitting room.
My brother is at the far side of the room drawing a black and white portrait of a little boy who is African.
My mother is on the phone. Its near Christmas time.
I am talking to my father about Curtis, asking him if he can stay with me for Christmas.
Dad says he has no objection but i must talk with mum.
He gets up and goes into the kitchen.
I try talking to mum and i ask about Curtis and she storms out in temper.
I follow her.
She is screaming and shouting at my dad.
The argument progresses and we end up arguing in the garden, it's a cold starry night.
My mother asks if anything happened last time he was down. I say no and she calls me a liar.
My father is in the doorway and asks her to calm down, which enrages her further.
she says i've already had it, and god knows what's happened meaning sex
She yells this out in the dream:
'she's had tests done for HIV and aids, everything. By the front and back doors, everything, by all the doors, you'll find the same thing.'
I think she was implying that I'd had sex everywhere....
I swear i've not slept with him.
My mother becomes violent and we struggle.
She starts to fight with me, kicking my kneecaps. My father is yelling at her to stop.
I find myself getting weaker.
My mother is sobbing, i realise she thinks she's lost her little girl.
I think 'why can't she just love me?'
I wake up sobbing and crying.
this was a horrible dream. My mother can react badly, but i don't think she'd treat me like that!
I have no idea what this dream means. Something so violent is more than plain anxiety

No, it is all quite literal. Yes, it is very extreme, but I suppose it is meant to point out to you that it is your easy going evaluation of the situation which might be a bit out of balance.

where there is smoke there is fire. Our Dreams come to us like Oracles and not everything they tell us is Welcome News.

i wouldn't be that worried. it probably just the worst senario your mind could come up with. im sure it wouldn't actualy happen like that. parents are more uderstanding than that. if they weren't id be living on oconnels street by now.

yeah, that's what i thought. by coming up with that scenario, my brain was kinda sorting it out.

The other response you got put me to thinking. Yes, in most every case, anxiety dreams go entirely over to the extremes. We have a bit of nervousness about taking a Test involve a dream where none of the classes were attended, none of the books were read, and trouble finding the room where the test is being given. We have nervousness about how the public perceives us as transformed into a dream of being utterly naked on Main Street on a sunny Sunday morning.

But, the point is that such anxieties, though blown out of every proportion, do exist in kernal embryonic form.

So, yes, there is something to worry about.

The Dream of not studying asks us to be a bit more organized in our study habits. The Dream of being naked in public asks us to maybe consider polishing our shoes before we go out. And the dream of having a raving screaming Mother probably wants us to show a tad more discretion and deference toward her in regards to ... well that is a complicated family matter, isn't it.

Hmm...i still think i'm going to have to bite the bullet and just ask her right out what it is i want.
Namely my boyfriend staying for christmas.
After all, she could say no. But i think that would be mean, considering it's christmas, and he IS my boyfriend.
re the avatars, yes, they are rather good aren't they?
Lauren Bacall is a stunner...wish i looked like her...I'll have to go and buy some good makeup.

What I have found interesting and curious is the metamorphous that occured in the appearances of some of these Actresses from the time of their early twenties to their thirties. Davis, Hepburn, Crawford, Bacal... all went from being merely beautiful to having almost legendary characters of structure and expression in their faces. I have not seen it lately though. Perhaps the Studios used to homogenize its young actresses, being careful to shoot them most generically, but as they became Stars, would then take the other tact entirely, choosing instead to emphasize their individual distinctions.

As far as Actress Charisma goes today, I am most curious about how little Dakota Fanning will get on as she matures into adulthood. If her magneticism lasts, then she will almost certaintly be a MegaStar of the First Magnitude... even if she should turn out to be somewhat snakey-faced... as Crawford and Bacal and Davis were a bit snakey-faced, that is, were at variance somewhat with the standards of a perfect classical beauty.

First of all, thanks for your welcome! In regards to your nightmare,(if you want my opinion) I think that its more important that you focus on the feeling behind the dream and not just the superficial content. Don't bother trying to get past the emotions-they are all that matter. The actual "action" of the dream is just your minds way of representing the message that its trying to carry over to you, in this case, maybe that inside you have some fear that your mother will stop loving you if show affection to anyone else. Obviously,since i don't know you i can't say this is for sure what the meaning of your dream is; as im sure you've heard it before, you know yourself best and can interpret your dreams better than anyone else. Anyways, I hope everything works out for you!

Hey, i did ask her, and she said no...no violence anywhere!!
I think that dream was a way of ironing out my fears in a 'safe' environment if you like...at the time, it was quite a scary thing...but i'm beginning to see that if you want something in life, you just have to ask for it, the worse that can happen is rejection, and then you've lost nothing.

Hey there,

I would say that your parents are very stong influences in your inner world and in your estimation and judgement of your self and your actions. You have to decide (and you will inthe next 5- 10 years) how much of what they think is right is right for you. Until then, mostly because of your unique personality you will be put upon in your dreams in this way.

BTW Bergman is one the great stars of all time, and one hell of a woman.

I would say this is true enough...i guess i'm just beginning to find out what i want for myself. It's something i've been thinking about a lot lately...and i've come to the conclusion that at the end of the day, i can't live my whole life asking my parents permission...there are some things that i am going to have to do for myself.
