Basically, it's the middle of the night and the moon is shining really brightly so that the clouds are luminous, like from certain movies and it's very beutiful. I'm stood (firmly) on a layer of very thin cloud, just a metre thick or so, basically a small level of fog in the sky. I can see through this to city lights far below, and I recognise it significantly as Bradford, not just a random city. The greatest spectacle though is what's above me. There's just this endless mass of really thick cloud above me, stretching out forever in all directions! I know it's just a dream, but the sense of vastness is incredible, almost disturbing. It's an ineffible feeling, some kind of combination of wonder, fear and thrill. Usually when I have the dream I'm holding a very long pole and touching the cloud layer above me. I break it, as if the cloud has skin, and this white fluid stuff leaks slowly out. Strangely enough I can feel the end of the pole as if it is an extension of my body and the stuff feels icy and cold.
I think this dream is telling me about my atheist beleifs and their limitations , which I won't go into in one post alone because I want it to look shorter. Yes, that's how things get done around here! Give it a few replies first :D. To be honest I am interested in dream symbolism because it's surprising how accurate it can be, but I don't trust my subconscious too much. It could be on to something, but doubtless you do get random dreams that mean nothing. Any comments about the dream are welcome.
