I'm Forynia, and this is my dream journal. I want to keep this updated with any new or interesting dream developments as I try to improve my recall and the amount of time I spend lucidly dreaming. I hope you enjoy any of my dreams you may choose to read. Also, please comment on anything if you feel the need to say something or provide me with your two cents. I wouldn't write them in this forum if I didn't want anyone to see them. ~_^
I also host my Dream Journal on deviantART now. Here's a link to the journal that archives all my dreams: Link! That's the place to go looking for a specific dream, as each is its own deviation and is linked in the bottom of that journal, so its easier to find than sifting through a thread.
I tend to get wordy, so here's a key:
Normal dreams are in Green.
Lucidity is in Blue.
Comments are in Red.
Code names for RL people who have or may appear in my dreams.
Mom - my mom.
Dad - my dad. Duh. -_-
Mey - My younger sister. RL age 14.
Quin - My younger brother. RL age 6.
Leo - ex boyfriend, dated for...5 years? Still friends.
Ai - Best friend since 6th grade. still in touch.
Lya - Best friend since freshman year at high school. Still in touch.
Trace - ex boyfriend. Dated for a few months. He hates my guts now. Blames me for ruining his life by breaking up with him or something or other. :|
The Rosses - Old family friends. There was some bad blood between us for a while but we've recently reached speaking terms again.
Papa-Bob - Grandfather on my father's side. Died late november 2007.
Mama-Toni - Grandmother on my Father's side. Good baker. Sweet but smart and loving.
Dell and Lene - Grandparents on my Mother's side. Sturdy, reliable, kinda rough around the edges but very dear.
Current Dreaming Achievments:
Occasional, accidental, limited lucidity.
Two distinct dreaming Personas gained, one female (like in RL), and one male.
Current Dreaming Goals:
Increase my Recall. I have many smaller dreams than some of the first ones I've recorded here. I'm pretty sure "The Island" and "When I was held captive by aliens and married their King" probably spanned several dream cycles during the night because of their length, detail, and the clarity with which I remembered them in the morning. I want to remember more of my other dreams, as well.
Known Signs:
I often dream that I'm a guy. Obviously not real. XD
Visited In-dream Locations I've been able to remember:
Steam City.
One of the oldest and most established dream locations in my mind. Steam City is is an overcrowded cement city constantly coated in its own artificial steam generated by all the steam powered technology it uses. Cold, cement surfaces with minimal windows make up the majority of the constructs. Many-jointed pipes emerge from the walls and sink down into the city's underbelly. There are no parks, and few open spaces, even in the richer parts of town. Crime is rampant in the city, though besides a steady hissing from nearby pipes and a regular thrumming coming through the cement ground very few sounds can be heard unless you are very near where something is happening.
There is a canal running through the city filled with icky-looking green water. Near the canal is a darkened, low warehouse that can be lit with a single hangng lightbulb. Also in the city is a small office building only a few miles from the warehouse and the canal. On the second floor, with windows facing the street, is a small office where I live and work. It has a large desk, a squeaky chair, and dingy case file cabinets.
The Island.
A large island in a warm ocean that has two climates, one semi-warm plains climate in its southern reaches where many many miles of empty plains lay and one large mountain range in the northern end covered in snow. At the very bottom end of the island a bluff cordones off a small copse of trees and a small bay with a rocky beach.
There are a few villages in the mountains, but I've only visited one. To get to it, you have to go down a hole in the mountainside that presents an interesting sledding challenge and continue sledding through an icy cave carved through the bottom of the mountain. The village lies in a sheltered valley on the other side of the cave. There's a sled shed at the top of the cave pass to make it easier to reach.
The plains are usually inhabited only by a large herd of horses, and are otherwise empty.
More forthcoming.
