i try to only record the more interesting, readable ones.
below is an index with goals and links, and below that an explanation of my methods.

here are some of the things i plan to do in the future (from my notes):

1. consistently develop the association between going to a place with water in dreams and lucidity. once lucid, look at your hands and rub them together, then sustain the sight of the water, the shore, and the land behind you. focus on all of your senses. then connect with the four environmental directions - water to the west, earth to the north, air to the east, and fire to the south. become able to sustain fine details in this location so that it remains a home base and place of power supportive of high lucidity. repeat to yourself that you will be lucid beginning there every day.

2. condition your dream body and dreaming attention. work on your chakras/general energy work and create music to aid in doing this 10/22. do tibetan sound healing 9/30. use sub-harmonic frequencies to induce an altered state 12/4


3. dream characters: have a conversation with someone. make them lucid. go to a place with a lot of hot girls and talk to them without touching any (reducing grasping/impulses) 11/2. turn malevolent dc’s into friends or neutralize them non-violently 11/2.

4. female dream guides:

5. play music, instruments, summon sounds...

6. experiment with controlling the weather. watch a lightning storm.

methods:

(this is what i decided to stick with since late sept. 09)

sort of a summary...

i grew up close to the beach. i have had many cool dreams where i was at a beach, looking at big waves, or at another place with water. my first remembered lucid dream occurred when i was 7 or so and took place in the ocean, where i was swimming and breathing underwater. not long after i rediscovered lucid dreaming and joined this site when i was 19, i had an immensely real lucid dream where i was floating offshore at a beach i'm very familiar with. it was like i was transported bodily into the water. so, i consider the beach to be my place of power in dreams.

i call what i do 'self-programming.' i use water itself to help me become lucid (as a reinforced, stable dream sign). when i pour a glass of water, use the sink, take a shower, see a pool, lake or the beach, i try to connect with the element of water. the mantra i use is "in my dreams i will see water. i will realize i'm dreaming and look at my hands to stabilize." a few times a day i watch the video i made (mantra in text over a sequence of images of water locations, video...), meditate/visualize, and write my intentions on a white board.

i also do some of the tibetan dream yoga day practice: i try to recognize all phenomena as dream-like and illusory, and say to myself that i am dreaming, this is a dream body and i am looking at a dream computer, and so on.

before bed i review the day as if recalling a dream. i repeat my mantra each time i fall asleep. i almost always wake up naturally at around 3 am, and then turn a night light on, watch my video on my ipod, and go back to sleep.

Mariano! i'm trying to take the things from dream yoga that worked for me and make my practice a bit more personalized. i would be doing the night practice but my quality of sleep hasn't been very supportive of it. i moved back home recently and i wasn't able to keep a dream journal for a while, so i'm trying to get back into doing that and keeping track of my sleep patterns more. i need to work on my mindfulness too... thanks for stopping by!

realized i was dreaming this morning, but the transition to wakefulness made it hard to remember anything besides the fact that i was lucid for a short time. i didn't stabilize (which is partly why i don't remember detail), but i did go up to a DC and said "who are you!!??" haha.

almost three lucids this morning. once i was lucid in the second dream i lost control and at some point entered another one, forgetting most of what happened previously (but i do think i remembered to stabilize somewhat). in the first one i'm walking on a sandy beach in the evening. i say to myself "i am dreaming" but it's as if i'm saying it in real life and i'm not really lucid or 'there'. but this is good because i'm starting to reinforce my technique again.

in the third dream i'm overlooking a room with several cats in it. i get them to follow me and i walk into a street and look at my hands to stabilize - i focus on awareness less than i should and mainly think about how the elements of the dream are a bit alien, but i can go along with it and immerse myself in its content.

i see two unfriendly looking men with shaved heads and try to use telekinesis to knock them over but nothing happens. then i start to operate on dream control alone and the quality fades as i begin to fight (not something i normally care to do). i am unarmed and a guy with a sword attacks me - i really should have used my cat friends to fight with me. i jump up and put my feet around his grip and twist the sword out of his hands. i grab it and carve some words on his chest, probably to warn his friends. i wake up feeling positive about my life (haha).

thanks, man. one of my goals is to familiarize myself with birds in dreams: become one of them socially and physically, and spend some time as a crow to the point where that form is comfortable to me. non-human intelligence fascinates me.

so. this morning i was lucid a bit, but it was kinda weird - like i wasn't myself and something different than usual caused me to change my relationship with the dream. i was in what seemed to be a back yard with some vegetation, and someone was there. i told him i didn't think i would be in the dream for much longer and told him my last name as if to confirm our meeting (my last name is rare so it differentiates myself well). i wouldn't really count this as a lucid - for me a lucid is more... in 'real time' and has a clean transition from sleep to wakefulness where i have a stronger feeling of having been there.

there was this other semi-lucid where i was mainly running on what i would call 'dream control without consideration.' really random. i try to summon a shotgun, but nothing appears and the *pow* in my head doesn't do anything. then i turn and see a handgun on a table and find that it works, so of course i shoot a lemur. fuck you, lemur. just kidding, lemurs are alright. but still, weird because i'm anti-gun, anti-lemur violence.

i'm feeling confident with what i'm doing now (dream habitat). it suits me well. i've been reinforcing it when i go to the beach; when i road bike there i can stop before turning back and review in my head that i will go there in my dreams and stabilize my sight of things before doing anything. the association between that location and dreams and lucidity gains momentum nicely.

i really want to interact more with people in my dreams. if anyone wants to go for some shared dreams let me know. i'm mainly trying to master the basics now, though haha. i've practiced enough dream control for now, and i'd like to focus more on quality.


i want to have a few dream allies who i meet up with regularly. not necessarily RL people, just dream characters. i seem to be attacked every so often when unarmed and outnumbered so...

how about this: two man-sized river otters and a red-tailed hawk. all of them can speak. the hawk would be a good guide, and the otters would be adept on land and in the water. i used to read a lot of the Redwall series of books, haha. so... the hawk obviously has some rad talons and a beak. the otters, i'd like them to each have a long bow and a nice broadsword.

Well, you know that Raven Knight and I share dreams. I give you permission to enter The Tower.

If you want to have those dream allies, just visualize them in waking life. Meditate, and think about what they look like, what they would say to you. Next time you LD, ask to see the King of Hawks.

this morning i didn't actually go to the beach and become lucid, but i did talk to some people about going to torrey pines beach. i'm pretty happy, i wasn't expecting to have these dreams so consistently until after a month or so - i'm definitely thinking about this stuff more often. i think the first time i tested out my technique (for only a month) i had 6 lucids, most of them at lakes. my location is more specific now. i road biked to the beach again this morning and spent some time reinforcing becoming lucid there. i think i'll be spending even more time there next year once i can get a surfboard rack for my mountain bike.

Awesome. This will be a great way to incubate this. I have a theory that we are naturally drawn to archetypes of our dream guides, spirit guides, and spirit allies, but we don't actually create them.

this was a great dream, though not completely controlled because i was mainly following a sequence of events that was apparently a memory of when i was a year old. i didn't stabilize.

A new aquatic friend

i'm floating offshore - maybe 50 ft. out. the beach has certain qualities i've seen before in special dreams: there are no waves, just gentle swells. the water has no sediment but is still partly opaque. at depth light is being reflected back, but in a textured, undulating way that is definitely alien. the sky is beautiful - it's cloudy, but it's perfect because the softly muted light adds to the effect the water gives.

a few giant bubbles form near me. the bubbles are red around the outside and don't noticeably break at the surface. one forms beneath me and shoots me out far into the ocean. i'm submerged and see a giant black fish approaching me - it has a long head, maybe 15 ft. from top to bottom. at first i'm startled but remember it's a dream as the fish lightly pushes me back towards the shore. i stroke the space between its eyes - it's soft and feels like it's covered in algae.

we get back to the sandy beach, which the fish is somehow perched upon. i want to thank it. i put my head against its head and sing a tibetan mantra - it ends with a 'hung' and i draw out its sound for several moments.

our heads are resonating together. it's as if what separated myself from the dream is dissolved, and i have a non-dual experience for several moments.

i wake up in a non-lucid. i'm in a workplace. there are a couple pretty girls there and i tell them i was saved by a fish in a dream. they couldn't care less - perfect. i wake up.

this means i have partly accomplished my dream goal of doing tibetan sound healing. it was so effective... this dream has made me want to experiment more with meditation in dreams, and to do the entire sound healing session.

a gay guy starts fighting me because i don't want to touch him... something weird like that. i realize i'm dreaming and the fight becomes sorta comical. i'm holding onto a soda can - i release it and it flies like a little rocket and bonks into him. then i turn into a giant and smash him with my hand. then somehow i realize he has a daughter and i make friends with him and shake hands so that i can go into his house. i walk in and a pretty girl is descending a flight of dark brown wooden stairs. i whisk her up to a loft where there is a large bed/couch thing with other girls on it. i start doing her doggy style. i'm still going after a while but i lose lucidity from looking at a distracting tv screen.


in the same area are some guys that i know somehow. i get the feeling that one is tommo from the forums. there's another guy on a computer but i can't place who he is. then down the street there's a huge commotion about something like furries or catgirls being fully legalized. we celebrate. funny.

there was also something to do with swimming around and a boat at sea, but i didn't become lucid then. i just need to have more dreams specifically about my beach, then i'll really be able to ingrain that location.

i've been reviewing forms of pagan magick and how i'll use this in future dreams. i like the freedom it gives me because i can incorporate my tibetan buddhist inclination. it's entirely open to your own path to spiritual development.

Last night dreamed of bodysurfing. I caught a wave all the way into the mouth of a river, then I started going downhill!

I also had a NLD of beating up a gay dude.

synchronicity? haha. and good thing i didn't start that fight, that would've been messed up.

surfing or bodysurfing in dreams is amazing - the ocean takes on a different kind of power.

i become lucid in a pool. i'm in the middle of teaching some young children about thinking freely - something i've done before in dreams and i enjoy. my vision gets distorted (it's already late in my sleep cycle) and i'm fully aware i'm dreaming but my dream body is sort of wandering around. i let myself sink into the pool - the kids freak out and are afraid i'm going to drown. when i surface my vision is better. there's an image of an old woman who is obviously irritated that i'm teaching children things she doesn't approve of. i'm standing on a walkway over the pool and i think about stabilizing. i look at my hands - i see them clearly. but... then some strange shape appears, which i manipulate somehow... weird. the kids say odd things like "where are your tickets!?" and i wake up.

it's kinda tricky when i'm lucid in places with water besides my beach. there are normally several people in those locations who distract me - my beach is more private and supportive. i'm mainly happy i was thinking about stabilizing despite the distractions.

That sounds like a shared dream to me. Interesting.

in the last dream i had that was similar to this i was teaching some kids a buddhist concept. they seemed really interested and happy. but in this one they seemed anxious about something - possibly the old woman i saw.

kinda cool because i'll probably end up being a professor at the university near where i live. maybe i can develop my teaching skills this way. i should meet more younger people in dreams and mentor them a bit.

I had a dream about a beach recently, because I bodysurf. Have you ever been to Makapu'u?

i don't really know much about Pan - it seems that most times you see him he's nudging you to explore deeper parts of yourself. yeah... paganism is generally really supportive of several forms of personal development.

Childhood

i'm at recess with a lot of kids i went to elementary or middle school with. we're walking along, about to play basketball and i realize i'm dreaming. i feel like i'm reliving part of my childhood - i go along with the feeling. it's like i've gone back in time, and i enjoy the feeling of youthfulness. i think about stabilizing but the dream carries me off and i become non-lucid.


Why do i keep making this suggestion

i'm walking up a flight of steps and see a woman in the driver's seat of a pickup. she looks like a cross between dianna troi from star trek tng and my 5th grade teacher, who was 22 at the time. she has long brown hair, dark eyes, and a friendly face that's tanned. she recognizes me, steps out of the pickup, and seems really happy to see me.

i look at my hands and try to stabilize but it's late in my sleep cycle and hard to maintain the dream. she seems to want to do something but says, "oh, i can't go out [like to hang out] - i haven't had my exercise yet." i tell her we should have sex right there on some hay to solve that problem, and her eyes light up and she says yes enthusiastically.

hot sex. you know. i don't remember details.

after we're done her two brothers come out and ask if they can get me anything (wow, how nice considering i just shagged their sister). i want to get away from them because they're distracting - i step outside of the building we're in.

i try to stabilize again. i look at my hands but don't fully sustain my sight of things.

the woman is sitting near me and i say that that was really nice.

then i put my privates in a cup of ice to help them recover. yeah... then i wake up.

i need to learn to stop what i'm doing and go to my beach when i become lucid somewhere else. erf. no more sex for a while.



-- oh, almost forgot. this morning i went to play tennis and there was a girl in the court next to mine who looked like the woman in this dream, just younger. she was probably a year or two younger than me. thought that was cool.

Ice? WTF? Do you usually do that? That is hilarious.

I also dreamed about a woman, it was almost-sex... Anyway, I saw her, or could've seen her the next day- well the whole thing is in my DJ.

hahaha no i don't normally do that. i think my business area was sore and needed some ice. i wasn't really thinking about it. maybe i should learn a post-sex rejuvenation spell instead...

and yeah! i read that about the red-haired woman. nice.

Malfunctioning Teleporter

i'm in a classroom standing up facing a bunch of students who are sitting at their desks. i walk over to a light switch to see if it does anything to enhance the dream. i can't tell if it has an effect, but i turn around and the students all begin to stand up and look at me. "ok, this is creepy," i think to myself. "i want to go to my beach."

i close my eyes and begin to see a computer screen - all i can see is the screen. it looks like it would belong to a little asian girl - it has a hello kitty feel to it. a box with an image of a beach comes up and enlarges (i read that tenzin wangyal rinpoche used a computer to bring up tabs of different locations and enter one). but it starts to move sideways as if viewed from a train.

i'm at this beach (instead of just seeing the image), but it's unfamiliar. it's really pretty and it looks as if it just stopped raining - the light is muted but the colors are vibrant. there's green vegetation along the shoreline, and it seems that i may be in hawaii or maybe southeast asia. the movement of my sight of the beach is making things difficult and i go semi-lucid as i change into third person view.

i pass a Bon Buddhist shrine or stupa (Bon was the indigenous religion in tibet before buddhism came up from the south and was partly integrated with it) and see decorative walls possibly made of concrete. i hear people talking about them, like tourists complaining that they're not marked and you could fall off if walking on the curving lower ledge. one wall i stop at is pretty - there's a fish at the ocean side shaped from the end of the material, and it's all painted. i wake up.

i liked the way i changed locations - it was really easy just to close my eyes, see the place, and find myself there... i'll just have to work out the glitches. i should probably look at my hands right after changing locations to avoid going into third person view and losing some lucidity.

Good job getting to the beach! Sounds like typical tourists, wanting us to hold their hand through lalaland so they don't get hurt. :lol:

i'm out boogeyboarding. i'm practicing going under waves while paddling out. back on the beach there are a lot of people around and i realize i'm dreaming. i see a surfboard rack and have a strong desire to go surfing - i completely forget to stabilize. i grab a board and start walking to the water - i check to see that it has a leash (haha i don't know if that would really matter) and i come up to a hotel luggage cart. what the crap. i put the board down and start to get a piece of equipment off of the cart (why?). i say "i will stay lucid" a couple of times, maybe because i half-realize i'm being pretty random. then someone steals the board and i spend the rest of the dream non-lucid trying to get it back.

a few lucids this morning. none were very long, though - i was mostly interested in following the plot already in motion and didn't think to transport myself to the beach and really stabilize. (for anyone who hasn't read earlier posts, the beach is my chosen place of power. it is a place that can really increase my dreaming attention - i had a life-like lucid dream there over a year ago and want to have many more in the future.) but i had another lucid vision, this one of a giant wave about to break.

Again with the girls

i'm in a classroom which seems to be for some kind of animal studies program. i see some aquatic animal - maybe a dolphin. my friend is there and says he's going to skip class the next day, i say that i can't because i'll be working with huskies - there is a girl near me and i hope she hears that and is interested.

i become lucid. i start to change my personal gravitational direction - people in the class watch as i fall towards a wall or the ceiling. pretty fun! i worry that i won't be able to remember much and i look at my hands and try to glance around me. i go up to a blond girl and try to get her attention - she ignores me.

i walk out of the room into a hallway and a girl walks towards me - i'm instantly drawn to her. she's stunning - she has long, straight dark brown hair, a really pretty face that's a bit tanned. she looks like a taller version of a girl i went to high school with. we're walking together a bit fast. i put my arm around her and she starts talking about how much she loves me. aww :smitten: i look at my hands and try to sustain the sight of the floor.

i gradually lose lucidity as she starts talking about weird stuff - she says that a girl she knows of was 'wrecked' mentally, maybe because of some incident. we're outside on a concrete walkway that curves around a tall cylindrical structure. i see an old friend and start to wake up.



Astral sight

this one was pretty cool.

i'm the leader of a group of people during a food shortage. then i'm stuck on a conveyor belt - i have the feeling i'm being processed for food. a bald eagle flies over me. i'm semi-lucid and try to float over some pieces of machinery. i float off to the side out of control and land on some grass beneath the belt

i find myself in a dream body that is asleep - i'm pretty aware. i have astral vision - i can see through my eyelids. i want to roll out of my dream physical body, but i'm stuck. the first time i try i move a bit though, and can see and feel different energy patterns as i'm several inches outside of my body.

my perspective changes so that i'm looking down at my head. my vision is focused to a small, circular area. i can see the skull of my dream body, which then turns into an abstract spiral of energy. wow. then a non-lucid FA.


DC business

i'm in a room with a lot of long, wooden seats. there are several women there talking about how it's been a long time since they last had sex. i become lucid and say "do dream characters have sex? i mean, would you have sex while in my dream?" one woman stands up and says "oh, sure!" i look at my hands and rub them together - cool sensation. i make glances at a large table in front of me and the floor of the room. i lose track of the woman who stood up - it seems she left something on the table. i want to check out what it is but i wake up - right when i normally get out of bed.

i did a good job trying to stabilize, but i really should have ignored what was going on and teleported... i'm kind of interested in how to turn a LD into an astral projection though - it was a pleasantly odd feeling to be part way out of a dream body, but it could've been just a part of the dream.

a couple new things this morning - kinda cool. didn't really stop to stabilize.

i’m running away from some kind of animal that was hurting me. i enter a room where i feel safe and become lucid - it’s as if once i’m safe i can stop and assess my surroundings and everything becomes more focused. i am drawn to a naked girl sitting cross-legged on the floor. i ask her if she is a. (she looks kind of similar to a girl i know) but she says, “no, i am t." (a japanese name, though she doesn't look japanese). i get the feeling she is a goddess that i created. she is sitting under a tree. the tree starts to grow around me and lifts me up. the branches look like those of a fern. the tree forms a seat that i settle into - a really cool feeling. :D then i wake up.


Flying makes koalas mad

i’m on a swing that flies dangerously over a street. i become lucid as the swing continues its forward motion for a long distance and i start to fly. i fly into a large mangrove of trees and see a bunch of animals - there are koalas, giraffes and some others. they all seem to be angry about something, maybe that i’m flying. the koalas have funny looking frowns. i rub my hands a couple times, and when my vision starts to fade from too much movement i focus on one object until it is restored. i see a strider from HL2 walking around and i want to take it down w/ an rpg.

i make a ‘pachoo!’ kind of sound but i can’t summon one. i become semi-lucid as i land - an angry dog runs towards me, but i kneel and expect him to be friendly and he is. a man gets me to follow him into a building and shows me some food or something and i wake up.

Super cool dreams. I like the seat of ferns, and the grumpy koalas.

I had dream where I was in the Outback.

I also had a dream about a food shortage.

- a few people come to the school that i’m at and make me go with them to see a video on being a better employee. i’m driving them somewhere in my old car - i’m driving too fast and become semi-lucid. then i’m outside with them and more lucid. i lift them up with telekinesis and neutralize them somehow (they are mean) then lose lucidity.

Spoiler for completely inappropriate:

- (this was a really nice looking lucid until after i went up to the girl) nobody will go with me to a dubstep concert. (come on!) i’m walking around and i become lucid. a really attractive girl is walking nearby and i go up to her and say “hey girlie.” (fucking shitting fuck stop doing that, man) she asks if she knows me and i say yes and we start to have sex. (stop now before you do anything weird!) but... the most clear part is where i put strawberry ice cream on my dick and she puts it all in her mouth. i don't know where that came from, but i think she enjoyed it.

this was a pretty long dream, but was hard to remember upon waking. everything was clear and realistic, but i was doing so much that i lost track of what happened - i kept on moving to different locations. at least i didn’t sex up any girls. i still didn’t go to the beach or really stabilize, although i was able to sustain my sight of the sun.

Lots of flying

i’m living w/ canceled czech in a house with some other people. i go over to him and he’s at a desk working on something. he looks just like he does in his pictures. i see his last name written on a piece of paper (which i already knew) and ask him what his first name is (which i can’t remember - i'm bad with names). then i’m outside, hovering over this doucher i used to know, who is running away. apparently i’m trying to kick him over. this is the second time this has happened this morning and i become lucid.

i start walking and i see the sun low on the horizon - it’s huge but its light is very soft; it seems to be close to setting. i sustain my sight of it as i walk towards it, and my surroundings are very stable (at least i was going in the direction of the beach). i’m in an area where there are large hills and trees and i decide to start flying. i jump up and arc so that i’m almost going face down, and as i start to fall i use gravity so that i’m moving down and floating over the ground, then i pick up speed and altitude.

i hover through a grocery store - there are some dc’s talking. i remember a woman telling me about something i can’t remember, but she seemed so real. i’m back outside and i fly towards a few cars that are on a road. i want to try to increase my flying speed. the cars are going a decent speed and i match it. what seems to be a porsche on the left spins off the road. i pass the cars and end up in a building. it seems to be a really rich person’s house with an enormous front door. i feel like a fly that’s stuck inside bouncing off windows and walls. (in past dreams going through walls was easy, but this was somehow different because i was flying) i’m at the top of the door and i push on something so that it opens and i fly out. i’m back at the grocery store and someone comments that i’m back. i wake up shortly after.

i know i don't normally post non-lucids, but i had some interesting dreams this morning. i'll share a few parts.

very philosophical dreams - my dream body seemed to be trying to exert lucidity at several times, but i was not technically lucid.

these two dreams were pretty significant on an energetic level:

there is a movie playing in a video store and a song comes on that really grabs my attention. it sounds like mid-tempo tech house, and it has a synth that’s vibrating so that my first chakra is going crazy and the sensation feels like i’m almost being pulled upwards. i want to harness this kind of power in the future.

i’m in a room with a native american woman. she’s definitely a bit older than me but i'm still attracted to her (i like older women - the wise, hot ones at least). she has long, straight black hair and a slightly rounded face. i tell her that i have a little bit of a native bloodline but i’m ashamed that it’s not very much, and she says to not worry and that it doesn’t matter. we press our bodies together. she's emanating a lot of energy, apparently from her second chakra. it feels warm and amazing. i've never had an experience like this before. i didn't technically have sex with her, but it was definitely more intense than the regular sex i've had in dreams (and rivaled that of waking life). i perceive this woman to be my tantric teacher and plan to find her in the future - until then i want to abstain from chasing around all the other dream girls.

i see a couple - maybe in their thirties - and we talk about shared dreaming. one of them says that if a certain animal appears then you can be sure that the dream is shared. after that i see eagle feathers of some sort, which are being sold at an incredibly high price. i also find my dream dog: he is at a dog daycare place and i go to pick him up. he looks like a chesapeake bay retriever with straight hair instead of curly. i give him a huge hug and we’re happy to see each other. this made me think about having a dream dog and using him to track certain people.

i foresee something reminiscent of the matrix. certain people learn to inhabit the dream world and use it to dominate others and fight. i learn that in the future we have to apply all of our abilities in that world to make it safe and have more positive potentiality again, and that the way to do this is completely non-violent.

i’m walking with a friend. we start to discuss how christianity is responsible for a significant part of the world’s environmental degradation. we talk about its extirpation of belief systems which regard nature as sacred and replacement of these with a system that legitimizes the domination of man over nature, manifest destiny, and the conversion of ‘pagans.’

i was also aware of the transition from sleep to wakefulness, and noticed something interesting - it seemed like i could sense my energy body’s frequency and that it was lower when asleep and became higher upon waking.

three lucids this morning, but none are worth a normal entry. i did go to the beach non-lucidly... i'm getting there.

as you can imagine, most of their content involved sexing up girls :?. one was kind of funny though: i'm with this girl and she starts to deflate like a balloon. then i'm sad and un-aroused.

well hey - so far in october i've had 11 days with lucids, 18 individual dreams. i'm definitely sticking with what i'm doing now - it's only a matter of time until i make my stabilization process a habit :D.

had a lucid this morning. wasted it. two really hot girls were in my house - i actually started to wonder if it was a dream or waking life because they looked so real. i normally have no doubt that it's a dream. i tried to take one up to my room but she vanished. i haven't had a whole lot of self-control in dreams recently.

so my goal is to completely abstain from lucid sex until i achieve some of my main goals in setting up dreaming (first several goals on the first post). when the time comes i'll find that woman who seems to be my dream tantric teacher. then it'll actually be meaningful instead of mindless.

in waking life i've been working on being free of desire. whenever desire arises i observe it without reacting to it and stay steady until it passes. i try to see the female form as just a biological structure. i'm not trying to be asexual or repress anything, i just really want to be more in control. i've had so many opportunities to do really important things in lucid dreams...

i've been keeping up with my ritual of road biking to the beach every other day and doing my whole practice there. just a matter of time until i completely stabilize in dreams on a regular basis.

yeah! it seems like in most of my non-lucids i'm smoking a joint with a guy friend or trying to have sex with some girl... but often the friend is offering me something and the girl is wanting it :D. maybe that one girl who i later meet in waking life will have fond memories of me before the dreams in which i'm actually lucid and in control of myself at the same time ;)

How about becoming a buddhist monk in your dreams? haha

i don't know - i bet they do lots of awesome stuff in dreams besides just being themselves ;) .. but yeah, there are buddhist teachings that were re-discovered, transmitted or newly created in lucid dreams by practitioners, so i'd like to do that.

two lucids this morning, kind of different. though i didn't stabilize in either and wasn't very in the moment, i did go to a beach and later was completely neutral in a dream (instead of running around doing dumb stuff). so that's good. :)

i’m on a beach. the sand is pink-ish. i feel like i’m in a post card for some mystical floridian paradise. i hear my dad’s voice - he says something like “some varieties of sand are actually bits of coral and will cut you!” i turn around and it seems that i’m on a mystical, foggy floridian golf course looking for golf balls. i remember i was supposed to go to a beach and become lucid.

it starts to get closer and i’m pretty scared, but i have an ‘oh yeah, this is a dream’ moment. i see a statue and recognize it - “buddha!” i say. i see a couple monks and i go up to them. we start chanting ‘om mani padme hung’ and the beast never attacks. i end up in a non-lucid dream.

Desirelessness

i’m trying to look at dv dream journals, but am in a large, tall closet. there are ribbons indicating different categories of journals - i ‘click’ on one with my mind and something tells me that banana looked at my entry.

i realize i’m dreaming. the closet it maybe 20 feet from top to bottom and there are many pictures on the walls, apparently of girls. i remember i want to work on being free of desire and i start to float around like a balloon... i'm not really thinking much after this. i float up slowly towards the ceiling and try to be steady and not enticed by the images. kind of cool because i wasn’t doing much of anything, which doesn’t happen often in lucids. then i start to float downwards. when i’m close to the bottom i see some gross pictures and then some senior women appear and try to seduce me. i’m grossed out, lose lucidity, and gtfo.

I'm jealous of your lucidity. what methods are you using?

hehe. well, like i've said before, my place of power and stabilization practice (goal #1) is to me the most important part of my dreaming. there's a huge difference between regular lucid dreams and high lucidity; though i get lucid fairly often i'm still mainly anticipating when i'll make a habit of doing what i need to do to have really high quality lucids.

but anyways, i'll make a list of the specific things i do on the first post :)

yaay i get to add a higher level of lucidity for the first time in this log!!

yesterday was the first time i paired images of certain friends with a picture of a beach i associate with lucidity. a few friends kept coming up in NLDs and they live far away now, so i can't do any state test during the day with them physically present. this got me lucid in the second dream. using the same method with pictures of girls i'm attracted to made me lucid in the first one. so that stuff's a supplement to the rest of what i do.

Screwing around, pt. 1

i’m laying on the floor of a big, spacious car with two really hot naked girls. i’m looking at their legs and realize i’m dreaming. i look at the car windows, which are slightly foggy and wet - maybe from light rain... or other things. one girl starts to give me a blowjob (hard to resist at this point), and the other crawls to my left side and sort of snuggles against me. i stay like this for a little while but then my sense of feeling starts to go (especially down there) and i wake up.


Screwing around, pt. 2

i’m in a music store and some kid walks by carrying a loose guitar string. the string pokes me just beneath my eye and i start yelling at the kid. i go up to the counter and see a. (a friend who now lives far away). some music is playing and i start to move in a circle with my upper body while my feet are in one spot on the floor.

i realize i’m dreaming and decide i want to break dance (not something i ever do in WL). i spin around for awhile with my arms holding up the rest of my body and i actually get tired and stop. some old white guy in a plaid kanga hat is furious that i’m dancing and marches up to us (we’re now in a misty, green yard) and i say “hey guess what!” and grab his hat. i spin it off into the distance and say “this is a dream!” he run’s off to get it and goes under a big tree. he starts picking up some round, spiky seed balls and throws them at me. i have his hat again and i block the seeds with it and wake up.


Car to beach transport

i’m driving up to what seems to be a gas station drive through, where you pay someone at a window and people fill up your car. i start to remember that i don’t drive anymore. i drive past the woman waiting for me at the window and look at my wallet, which i had out. i open it up and realize i’m dreaming. i let it drop and then i’m in the back seat.

wow. i’m looking at the front half of the car and it looks life-like. i feel like i’m completely ‘there’ and in control of myself. it seems like my left eye’s peripheral vision is gone though. i look at my hands, also real looking, and back at the seats. then i close my eyes and try to teleport to the beach.
i start to imagine myself tracing lines in the sand with my hand. then i start to see this but i feel like i’m laying on my side. my vision shifts so that i’m looking at the ocean. its details are so intense. the surf coming in is so textured and looks really cool. i feel great. there are people off to my left with flashlights (it seems to be late evening) and they are laughing and running away from the incoming water. i look back at the water.

my vision is worse to my left side. now it looks like there is a black surface on the side of my head and someone is pointing a flashlight at it. it seems like i’m about to fall over and i wake up, feeling happy. it’s the time i was supposed to get up.

- i was gradually becoming lucid because of the dream sign of anger and fighting. then i’m floating up the side of a building while holding on to a drainage spout. i know i’m dreaming but i’m not fully in control of what i’m doing. i see a sunflower that somehow grew in a space to the side of the building. i wonder if i’ll be able to remember details about the odd top level of this building. instead of a flat roof there are a lot of box-shaped structures, which look interesting as if they form a pattern. i’m on top of a ledge and i see a girl. i try to say hello but my voice comes out funny. then she’s gone and there are a bunch of cats around me. they are either red, blue or white. i think about the ratio of cat colors, i guess there were mostly red cats. i wake up.

- i’m at a beach in hawaii - it’s partly obscured by buildings. i look at the water - the waves are huge! i admire them and... i don't know what happened - obviously i forgot to stabilize again. but yay for getting to the beach.

that's 4 consecutive days with lucid dreams. KAPOW! :banana:

...Well, since I seem to be stuck here...

i’m in a classroom. i walk to the window and see a bay - there is a blue whale swimming over it in the air! i become lucid. i look at my hands and try to look at the bay but i don't have a great view of it. i'm pretty lucid but i feel like i need to get out of this place and to the bay to really be able to stabilize. i walk out into the hallway and find another window. i try to go through the wall but i can’t. what's the deal! i go back through the hall and find a door that says ‘girl’s locker room.’ well now that i'm here... i walk through and stop for a moment to look at my hands. i take a left at the showers and notice that i have an erection already. i'm just kind of enjoying the feeling of being able to do something impossible in WL. there is a girl who finished showering - she’s all wet and blonde and curvy. she sees me and says “oh my god” and i walk up to her. i smell her - she smells nice (yay for smelling in a dream!). i try to put myself in her but i start to feel my sleeping body and i wake up.

yesterday i kind of slacked with my 'no lucid sex metaprogramming,' but at least i saved it for the end... hey i don't get opportunities like that much! she was all wet!

yesterday i know i was lucid at some point, but it was really early in the morning and stuff happened after it so i forgot.

two-ish lucids this morning. i was semi-lucid for more than that but these stupid hoes kept making things difficult! there were ho meetings going on in half of my dreams. i'll just share the more lucid parts.

1: i drive a car into a garden center. i try to smell some flowers - they move around in response to me. hoes distract me.

2: i float quickly away from two huge snakes in a red sandy dune towards a park. not as good as the beach but there's a little lake there, so i look at my hands and the water then the wooded area beyond. the table i'm standing on starts to spin and hoes distract me.


yeah... i made a little stabilization progress, so that's good.

since the last post i've had a few semi-lucid dreams. after that 4 day streak i've been having them every other day. in summary:

- random semi-lucid. there was a lot going on, and it was really hard to remember.

- i see a friend who's a dream sign, i run through a building going up ramp-like floors trying to get to the surface.

- i'm face to face with an ex-girlfriend. she looks pretty and i smell her a little - she smells quite pleasant (haha i'm happy my sense of smell is starting to get activated). i try to get her head down to give me a bj.

* also, i modified my progress charts. when comparing last month to this month (about half a month), there have been these two improvements:

1. higher percentage of lucids in which i look at my hands (which indicates that i was truly lucid and attempted to stabilize).

2. higher percentage of lucids involving a beach.

i've been having a lot of dreams near a body of water, which is great and means that my method is becoming more ingrained and effective. i began to stabilize in this one, but didn't get too far - but still, i'm happy.

Mini-beach

i’m running away from a crazed monkey. it’s dark and i jump up into a tree, let it bend, and pop out the other side, then keep running. i find myself at a shoreline and say “haha! this is a dream!”

i look at my hands and then the water. i can see the water clearly, but my peripheral vision is bad. it turns out this is a sort of mini-beach and there’s actually something past the water. a big swell passes through me, and the water runs out of my eyes. i look at my hands again. a big black lab runs behind me and seems to be barking at me. i try to ignore him and keep from getting distracted but he keeps barking and i say “stop!” i wake up shortly after.

Cool! My familiar is a reptile with a large head and mouth, but he sometimes appears as a black lab so as not to scare people.

that's interesting that you can still recognize him when he takes on a different form. and black labs/chessies are awesome! :D

i had several LDs today and yesterday, but i don't really think they're worth sharing. unless something interesting happens or i get closer to completing goal #1 i probably won't update.

i matched my lucid count from last month and it's only the 20th, so that's good.

i’m in a garage looking at a large box containing an old record player that i’m trying out. i tell my mom that i’m going to go check on my horses - i had just bought two horses from my old neighbors. the horses are like my best friends and i take good care of them, but they aren’t trained to be ridden yet. i’m in their corral in a forest and i lovingly run my hand down one of the horse's cheek. i walk out the gate.

i’m near a beach and it seems that some pipe has ruptured - brown dust is billowing into the sky. i’m walking along a river and realize i’m dreaming. the forest is pretty lush and it's very peaceful near this river. i walk into a courtyard near an arc of high walls. it seems to be dusk. i feel pretty good being in this place. i fly up on top of the wall and start walking to the west.

i see the ocean, but i can’t see it too clearly. i keep walking and reach a ledge. now i can see the surface of the water better. my (waking life) dog is there. but before i can think to look at my hands a speeding van driving below me towards the ledge slams on its brakes. this looks and sounds so real and i’m a little freaked out - i say “god DAMMIT!” in surprise and go semi-lucid. i don’t know what the men exiting the van are doing but i go down the ledge and run towards what appears to be a plane on the ground.

i’m running through an aisle crowded with people and struggle to get through. then i exit through doors like those in a tram and i’m in another transit place with an old friend. i say something to him and the dream just kind of dissolves into my waking state.

In which i continuously beat a monkey over the head with a hefty stick

i get lucid somehow and i’m trying to fly around. i shoot one arm into the air at a time, striking a pose like a superhero and it works ok. then i’m flying in a wooded area and things are more clear. i follow a few giant hummingbirds - cool! they're big, colorful, and their wings are a blur.

i see a wooden walkway winding into the woods - i think that if i follow it i can get to a place with water and stabilize completely. i land on the walkway then follow it to a small pool. a little monkey is there. he jumps on me and bites my ear and a finger off. i look at my hand and the missing finger and decide that it's time to kill the little motherf**ker.

i'm semi-lucid and suddenly i have a nice, hefty stick. i keep hitting the monkey over the head. i start to multi-task: while i'm whacking him i'm thinking about how i need to go to a place with water in my dreams. it seems that i am next to an indoor pool which flows under a border and into a larger, outdoor segment. i go outside and into the larger part of the pool and continue to beat the monkey over the head.

dream control experiment: holodeck interface

time for an update!

since the last post i've been lucid something like every other day - this morning i had about 4. i'll share some of the interesting bits. there will be plenty of full entries in the future so don't worry :)


- i'm floating over a series of ledges, lakes and ponds and i see a giant ostrich. i follow him downhill to a stream. there are a bunch of injured wolves near it... the next time something like this happens i need to try out healing powers.

- i'm riding my bike southbound along the coast. the ground turns to solid ice. the surroundings are reflecting interesting color patterns off the frozen surfaces. when i'm more lucid i look towards the sea. i'm at an inlet and can see the land from across some distance. the ocean is frozen!!!

- later on i'm at a different coastline. i decide to fly into a nearby boat. i begin speaking to the onboard computer (like in star trek tng). i tell it to bring us about at half-impulse. it seems to work. the boat floats in the air and turns to the side. *geek out*

Lol, onboard computer, huh? Very nice.

My lord. That's fantastic. Are there any particular techniques that you're using because that's a very good lucid "resume"..hah.

Lots of water in those Lucid dreams..I find that for me that's usually associated with a sense of freedom/ happiness..different for everyone probably though

yeah it was cool. this was actually an idea for dream control i had near the time i was starting out. like in the holodeck of a starship you can use the computer to do pretty much anything if you expect the interface to lead you to that outcome.

yes, i purposefully have a lot of water in my dreams - i think i have a similar association. :D

more lucids, but i decided this one non-lucid was more worthy of being shared:

this dream was pretty profound. i don't really understand the concept of inorganic beings, so i don't know what to make of the being that was in it...

in the dream i see some kind of creature that looks like a large fish, almost like a manta ray, but definitely alien. it's a dark color and seems to want to help me somehow. at some point in the dream i find out that the creature has strong psychic powers. it approaches me and begins to vibrate my body at a sub-harmonic frequency. the vibrations induce a very altered emotional state in me - it's like the resonation is unlocking some part of my mind i hadn't tapped into before.

for several moments i experienced an emotional state that was completely new to me. it was pleasant, but i don't know how to explain it.

i’m riding my road bike in the sand by a beach. i pass through some people and their folding chairs, then i get on the flat part closer to the water and pick up some speed. i’m riding to the north and i look at the water and realize i’m dreaming. i see a little wooden pier. the water looks very clear and calm, and there are more people.

i decide to pick up some speed just for the fun of it. then i stop and walk to the west. i look in the air and see two meteors zooming toward the earth - they have tails of bright dust and are maybe only a couple miles to my left. i look at my hands to keep steady and i hear a huge cracking sound followed by another. the sounds are pretty amazing but i keep calm - all the people in the area leave. this part was pretty nuts, actually. very enjoyable.

when i look back towards my surroundings i see that i’m walking towards a pool and there is another to my right. i walk to the one to my right, which is closer. it’s a pretty small pool and there is forest curving along it just behind. i look at my hands and then the water, repeat this, and look at the trees. the forest looks so real - the colors and textures of my vision are amazing. i see a squirrel in a tree, who looks life-like. (at this point my mistake is that i stop stabilizing and wander off) i start walking and enter a building. i find a duck and kind of play with him - he’s cute and nibbles on my finger.

i walk into another area - it’s like a strange high school with walkways and rooms staggered at different heights. i decide to turn back and go back to the pool but i get lost. i pass by someone, ignore them and hope they don’t bother me. i find the main door, wonder if it’ll be locked, but push it and walk through. the principal is there and tries to get my attention. i keep walking but i get distracted. i end up getting close to the beach i started at, walking next to an old friend. we both start humming a Rush song (mystic rhythms), comment on it and i wake up.

i walked on water for the first time in a lucid dream this morning. it was fun! i was actually just walking around and looking at some pelicans and otters floating in the flat sea for some time... so there's not much else to write about, haha.

in one of my lucids yesterday i felt rain for the first time. it was pretty great. just thought i'd make note of it :)

...still working on getting to 'medium-high lucidity' consistently.

this morning was interesting.

i woke up at 3:40, and from then on until 8 or so i was having this series of lucid dreams in which i kept practicing and getting better at controlling my dream vision and not waking up.

in the past i have had dreams in which i felt like i was going to wake up because my "eyes" were closing on their own. but here are the notes i made early in the morning which kind of summarize what i was doing:

having the feeling that i can’t keep my eyes open doesn’t mean the dream is going to end. if i close my dream eyelids while still seeing, my vision is more stable and the dream may be extended - by doing this i overcome the limitation of expecting a dream to end in this way. (it is easier to do one eyelid then the other) i can stay in the dream by maintaining this dream vision (unimpaired by my physical expectations of sight) or allowing it to go, focusing on something to keep my awareness close to the dream state, and wait/force a scene change (such as looking at my hands, an object, or thinking of a location).

turning around sort of slowly is good for increasing clarity - it makes you aware that there is a much larger scene around you than just what’s in front at a given moment.

Aren't they? Man I've had some strange things happen in dreams. The 'gummy bear' dream takes the cake though.
