Thread: the lucid progress log of cygnus

yeah! great idea. i was really just focused on stabilizing because my vision wasn't normal...
i wrote a while back about finding my 'dream dog,' but this one was a black lab, not a chessie. but they're very similar... maybe it was the same one and he wanted my attention!

i actually had several lucids this morning, but only one was really worth noting. i was at the beach (yay), but i didn't look at my hands... at least my vision was normal unlike the other day.

- i’m walking to the north along a beach. i realize i’m dreaming, stop walking, and look at the water. somehow it turns into a forest and i go semi-lucid. there are small dinosaurs running across my field of vision. i just kind of look around wondering what to do. i fly up into a tree. there is a gorilla nearby who throws something at me - i wake up soon after.

Cool! My familiar is a reptile with a large head and mouth, but he sometimes appears as a black lab so as not to scare people.

that's interesting that you can still recognize him when he takes on a different form. and black labs/chessies are awesome!

i had several LDs today and yesterday, but i don't really think they're worth sharing. unless something interesting happens or i get closer to completing goal #1 i probably won't update.

i matched my lucid count from last month and it's only the 20th, so that's good.

the first half of this dream was actually very pretty

Holy crap a van!?

i’m in a garage looking at a large box containing an old record player that i’m trying out. i tell my mom that i’m going to go check on my horses - i had just bought two horses from my old neighbors. the horses are like my best friends and i take good care of them, but they aren’t trained to be ridden yet. i’m in their corral in a forest and i lovingly run my hand down one of the horse's cheek. i walk out the gate.

i’m near a beach and it seems that some pipe has ruptured - brown dust is billowing into the sky. i’m walking along a river and realize i’m dreaming. the forest is pretty lush and it's very peaceful near this river. i walk into a courtyard near an arc of high walls. it seems to be dusk. i feel pretty good being in this place. i fly up on top of the wall and start walking to the west.

i see the ocean, but i can’t see it too clearly. i keep walking and reach a ledge. now i can see the surface of the water better. my (waking life) dog is there. but before i can think to look at my hands a speeding van driving below me towards the ledge slams on its brakes. this looks and sounds so real and i’m a little freaked out - i say “god DAMMIT!” in surprise and go semi-lucid. i don’t know what the men exiting the van are doing but i go down the ledge and run towards what appears to be a plane on the ground.

i’m running through an aisle crowded with people and struggle to get through. then i exit through doors like those in a tram and i’m in another transit place with an old friend. i say something to him and the dream just kind of dissolves into my waking state.

In which i continuously beat a monkey over the head with a hefty stick

i get lucid somehow and i’m trying to fly around. i shoot one arm into the air at a time, striking a pose like a superhero and it works ok. then i’m flying in a wooded area and things are more clear. i follow a few giant hummingbirds - cool! they're big, colorful, and their wings are a blur.

i see a wooden walkway winding into the woods - i think that if i follow it i can get to a place with water and stabilize completely. i land on the walkway then follow it to a small pool. a little monkey is there. he jumps on me and bites my ear and a finger off. i look at my hand and the missing finger and decide that it's time to kill the little motherf**ker.

i'm semi-lucid and suddenly i have a nice, hefty stick. i keep hitting the monkey over the head. i start to multi-task: while i'm whacking him i'm thinking about how i need to go to a place with water in my dreams. it seems that i am next to an indoor pool which flows under a border and into a larger, outdoor segment. i go outside and into the larger part of the pool and continue to beat the monkey over the head.

time for an update!

since the last post i've been lucid something like every other day - this morning i had about 4. i'll share some of the interesting bits. there will be plenty of full entries in the future so don't worry


- i'm floating over a series of ledges, lakes and ponds and i see a giant ostrich. i follow him downhill to a stream. there are a bunch of injured wolves near it... the next time something like this happens i need to try out healing powers.

- i'm riding my bike southbound along the coast. the ground turns to solid ice. the surroundings are reflecting interesting color patterns off the frozen surfaces. when i'm more lucid i look towards the sea. i'm at an inlet and can see the land from across some distance. the ocean is frozen!!!

- later on i'm at a different coastline. i decide to fly into a nearby boat. i begin speaking to the onboard computer (like in star trek tng). i tell it to bring us about at half-impulse. it seems to work. the boat floats in the air and turns to the side. *geek out*
