ive started keeping a DJ since about Tuesday or Wednesday, ive got one little memory of a dream, like literally one event in the dream that lasted about 5 seconds. most other nights i havent had a dream i could remember, how can i improve recall without taking anything?
Your dream recall will improve with time. If you don't remember the dream that night, then write date and write: This night I didn't recalled my dream. or something similar....
Write everything, every detail you can remember.
After 3 days of my DJ-ing, I remembered 3 dreams completely :D
It varies from person to person
It takes little longer to get your recall than 2 days. But you will get it. The more you thinking about your dreams and how you want to remember them, the more you will.Quote:

You can try some memory exercises before sleep as well. ill just list a few that ive found helpful...
1. Mantras - its basically a form of auto-suggestion and can be very helpful in any area of lucid dreaming. With mantras, you would make up a phrase about what you want to accomplish. Repeat this before sleep, and while you are going to sleep in your head if you like. Believing that it will happen is always an important ingredient as well.
2. Reading your Dream Journal. This can also be just recalling your most recent dreams straight from memory. See how many dreams you can remember in the past couple days, the past week, the past month, etc..
3. Recall the days events in as exact detail as possible. Do this as many days into the past as possible.
Repeating any one of these pre-sleep exercises on a regular basis will give recall an effective boost.
I am the same way, I've been actively trying to recall my dreams but to no luck. I sometimes get my dreams confused with my hazy thoughts right after I wake up. It's annoying as hell to do everything(I've made my questioning of reality a habit now and still nothing) and still come up short. I'm not giving up though, I'll be dammed if I can't get one lucid dream after all these years.
Have you tried any other techs? RCs can't just be a straight up habit. They need to be accompanied by the realization that this could be a dream and checking reality to be sure that it isn't. Emotions, visualization, thoughts. These are good things to add to RCs or any OCD person would be always lucid if they just checked the clock every 5 minutes and always double checked, but they aren't.Quote:

Keeping a steady sleeping schedule is very key to dream recall and LDing. In most people's opinion. :P keeping a DJ is great. I have my own method of DJing that I think can help people a lot if they use it, but that is just my opinion. Haha. Pushing my own product, link in signature.
It can take a while, but getting plenty of sleep should help. It is generally easiest to remember a dream when waking up from that REM cycle. So if the time isn't working after 8 hours of sleep for a week try changing it. I recommend WBTB and micro WBTBs as often as possible, it has an amazing amount of reasons that it works, I can explain if you wish.
