Dream recall methods.
In this thread I'd like to collect (for different reasons) the methods/ways, in which those with good (nearly flawless or flawless) dream recall go about recalling their dreams and/or intensifying dream recall.
Do you merely will yourself (before sleep) to recall your dreams after awakening or perhaps set an alarm clock or will yourself to wake up after every REM period? Perhaps you just put effort into recalling dreams upon awakening without much previous preparation? Or do you use other ways?
Not to seem rude but I'd like to recieve replies only from dreamers with high dream recall (at least one dream a night).

1. Write down even the smallest fragments of dreams. Dreams seem to reward attention by giving out more dreams.
2. If I don't recall anything, I still write down something, like "recalled no dreams". This keeps me in the habit of journaling and paying attention to my dreams.
3. I don't set alarms or will myself to awaken regularly. But, if I do wake up and recall a dream in the middle of the night, I scribble down a few words to remind me of the dream in the morning.
4. Dream recall simply increases with time and diligent recording. Give it a few months... or years.
5. Don't make any sudden movements in the morning, that seems to clear out the dreams right away.
6. Don't allow yourself to drift around in other thoughts upon awakening. Focus on replaying all of the dreams in your head before writing them down. Otherwise, you might lose them.

For me, I write in my dream journal everytime I have a long dream... It usually boosts my dream recall up for a long while. I have pretty good dream recall naturally though, just like I said, give it a boost everyonce in a while.

When you wake up, don't move. Recall, recall and recall. When you think you have everything, get up. If you just can't remember anything then spend the first morning hours thinking about "What did I dream about...? What did it involve? Friends? Nature? School? Cars?". Maybe your everyday actions can trigger your recall.
I write down some keywords in the morning, then in the evening I write the whole dreams in the journal. This way I have to remember the dreams the whole day long, which, in my opinion trains my brain to have better recall. I won't forget them entirely because I have my keywords. Sure, I may forget some details during the day but that's just because I'm not good enough yet.

I have 2 journals by my bed, One is for bullet point style notes that I can scribble in so I don't forget aspects of a dream which I might if I were to start a cohesive journal entry.
I enter all the aspects of the dream in my rough journal, I then copy it up neatly into my Dream Journal (usually straight after) Also, If there are specific images in the dream I will draw them, that way, simply looking at the images reminds me of the entire dream.
I also use WBTB after 6 hours of sleep.
