My dream signs...
Seeing an old friend I no longer speak to

There are a few more but my most frequent/effective one... disgusting toilet dreams, I always have weird dreams where toilets are overflowing or really dirty and I have to use them. Sometimes the doors wont lock too and people can see me! - I don't know why I have these as toilets dont freak me out in RL lol. I get strangely upset/stressed in these dreams but they do help make me lucid :)
A single dream sign that has contributed for me attaining lucidity for a short while was hearing a dream character making contradictory statements. I generally have a good flow of thoughts and in waking life can distinguish good reasoning from bad one, alas it took me the same dream character asking me whether I thought she made sense or not for me to catch on.

But anyway, I have a few dreamsigns that I've been noticing more now that I've started thinking about it, although some may be less personal and more universal.
My most common is probably when I am looking for something, either an object, a person, or an escape route, like a doorway or a hole in the wall, and I just can't see a thing. It's like my vision goes all dark and brown and blurry and I can't focus on anything, and it's very frustrating.
Another is probably a side-effect of playing a lot of Assassin's Creed :P Almost any time I dream that I'm trying to hide from someone (or something), I'll either end up hiding in plain sight (like lying down next to a pot plant), or I'll be in a decent spot but the chaser will know exactly where I am. When this happens I usually know that they know, and it's like they have a map that I show up on as a little red dot. Sometimes I might have a map too, or I can just see their map in my mind, and I know they're still coming for me.
This one is definitely personal, and it's kind of like a recurring format for a nightmare which usually varies in setting, but not plotline. It involves a "good" ex-boyfriend (F), and a bad one (J). It'll start out I'm with (F), maybe with some other people, then I'll suddenly realise he's gone and (J) is in his place. At this point I freak out, but try to stay calm because I don't want (J) to realise I've noticed it's him, or something. It's kind of like I think I might have somehow travelled back in time and now he's my boyfriend again. After a little silent panic, I try to come up with a plan to escape, which usually involves a lot of running (but in these ones it's usually the opposite of the sluggish running you get in most nightmares, it's like I can run really fast, and for EVER. Not always though), occasionally the aforementioned hiding dream sign, and often a bit of silent screaming for help (which is of course a pretty universal dream sign).
So yeah, that one is a pretty scary one, although I'm getting it less these days.
Now, I know flying dreams are common, and maybe even ones where you have trouble getting off the ground, or staying up without having to do some ridiculous paddling, water-treading motion that usually doesn't work anyway :P but what often happens to me is I'll be flying, going pretty high just for funzies, a bit of an adrenaline rush, but then I'll start drifting towards these massive or otherwise unavoidable power lines, or if indoors, a ceiling fan. Sometimes, by the time I realise the lines are there, I'm completely surrounded. If I end up getting caught in the powerlines, nothing really happens except I get absolutely terrified and struggle to get free.
If I ever dream that I'm driving, then I have absolutely no control over my car at all. It doesn't really go off the road, it just doesn't drive properly, won't go up hills, etc. Now that I think about it, that's probably due to the fact that my poor car breaks down so often I have this subconcious fear of it breaking again. Also, it's an automatic, but I always dream that I'm driving a manual, which is weird because I have trouble driving a manual in real life, but not in dreams.
Something else that seems to happen fairly often is a kind of deja vu/repetition type thing, where I go through the dream once, and then it seems to start again and ... well it's like watching a walk-through of a video game, except I've lived through it instead of watching it, and now I know exactly what I'm supposed to do and how to do it.
Um, I have short hair, and I often dream that I'm looking in the mirror and I notice it's grown long again, or that it's not really short but I wear it in a way that makes it look short.
Also, TALKING CATS. Talking cats that sometimes change into things that aren't cats. Like cows that chase me. Or crickets. And then I'm left wondering why I thought it was a good idea to buy a pet cricket.
This one is something that I thought was a dream sign until recently, but it could also be that hypnagogic sleep paralysis thing. The last time it happened I was lying in bed just after waking up (or dreaming that I'd woken up, maybe), and I was absolutely certain that there was something on the other side of the room, and although I couldn't see it I imagined that it looked like a cross between a grass-hopper and an alien, about the height of a child, but capable of rising a lot taller if it stretched its legs. I just had this accute awareness of it being there, but my head was turned to the wall and I couldn't turn it, no matter how hard I tried.
The part that makes me not sure if that was sleep paralysis or a dream is that I get the same thing sometimes when I'm definitely dreaming, combined with the first point where I can't see.

So far, I've discovered one: an inability to inflict violence at all.
I GET THAT SO OFTEN. Like I try to punch or slap someone, and no matter how much force I try to put behind it, the impact is just so weak.
Some I can remember by now:
-Cannot run or move faster
-Guns that don't properly shoot
-Beautiful gardens, parks or trees
-Huge open spaces
-Cemeteries
-Seeing or talking with family members who passed away
-My grand parents house
-Weird machinery or factories
-Finding hidden music collections
-Finding lot of money in the street
-Having trouble in haunted places
-And recently I realized I'm dreaming a lot about traveling (buying tickets, driving to the airport, losing the flight, etc.) perhaps because of the air traffic where I live, and it's working really good!
I realized that in my dreams im scared to be in high places. In reality i do not fear high altitudes but in dreams it's very frightening to me, and even if im lucid im scared.
Well with my track-record of the last 2 dreams I've had...crossdressing. Which is embarrassing as hell but it has happened in the last 2 nights since I started to try lucid dreaming again 3 days ago. Those odds seem very hard to go against at the moment. :paranoid:
My latest dream signs include locking doors and needing to pee.
Hmm, I guess my dream sign is weird weather :D I always get weird weather in dreams.
Confusing staircases, elevators, mazes
Changing faces on my cell phone, getting arrested, anything reminiscent of mardi gras.
Hmm, several, but here are my main ones:
Escalators. These are an extremely common dream sign for me, probably due to my odd childhood fascination with them. Usually they're found in a shopping mall, but not always. In some of my more interesting dreams, there aren't just one or two escalators; there are PILES of them. Like escalators, just about everywhere you look in all shapes and sizes. Some of the escalators wouldn't make logical sense in real life, like escalators curving, changing directions all the time, some steps bigger than others, etc. In nightmares, escalators are broken, and when I see this, I feel an intense feeling of dread, which also carried over to my waking life as a younger child
Elevators: along the same lines as escalators, but not as common. The elevators in my dream are pretty normal I guess, except they tend to lead to places that aren't logical. Again, they're usually found in shopping malls. I'd say about 40% of my recent dreams have involved a shopping mall with escalators and/or elevators in some way, yet i can never catch it and become lucid.
Public restrooms: these tend to show up in "diiscovery" dreams, where i'm walking somewhere new and strange. A public restroom somewhere along the way a lot of the time. When I walk inside in normal dreams, the design of the restroom is very minimalistic; white drywall, zero furnishings minus the essential toilets and sinks. It always looks unfinished in regular dreams. In nightmares, however, the restrooms are vomit-inducing. Everything is rusty moldy and broken, the toilets are clogged and overflowing with shit, puke, and God knows what else, slime drips out of the faucets, and bugs fly around everywhere. It's terrible. Fortunately, I haven't seen that in a long time.
One more notable dream sign that I haven't seen in 6-7 years, but still left a lasting impact was these 2 cats. They were sphynx cats (you know those bald wrinkled ones), but they each had 4 eyes; one set in the normal place, and the other set was behind their ears and off to the sides. They looked alien. They were menaces in my childhood nightmares; they would run around making hisses and sounds that were borderline demonic, and they were violent; in one dream, they killed my dog. :( when i master lucid dreaming, i'm gonna go find those cats, shoot them, cook them, and eat those bastards for supper :mad:
I have 2 dream signs I think. Celebrites and my iPhone. Usually both are there at the same time. Sometimes in dreams I meet a celebrity or somone that I like or look up to very much. I usually try to ask them if I can take a picture with them but they allways refuse. After that I allways take out my phone and try to take a picture of them anyways. I usually follow them around because my phone never works in my dreams. A couple of days ago I had a dream where I met Jack Black under a broken plane at a beach. He refused to take a picture with me and my phone refused to work, so I followed him around all day desperatly trying to find a phone so I could take a picture.
I have been thinking about Jack Black a lot because I was at a Tenacious D concert last week in Sweden at Gröna Lund. So one week before the concert till now I have been listening to nothing but Tenacious D. It was cool to "actually" meet him in a dream. It feels so real. And the concert was the best concert I have ever been to btw.
I calculated the frequency of each notable object in my dreams by using excel. My current dream signs (with the highest occurrences are;
Driving a car
Eating food
Dogs
Toilets
A few years ago my dream signs were;
Public toilets
Not being able to use a phone properly
Sex
I used to always dream about my car not starting or having random issues like my check engine light coming on so my car acting up is probably my best dream sign, also seeing people I don't see often anymore
Friends from school and weird things happening in school, people i haven't seen for a long time
+ In/around parent's house. Very frequent, almost nightly.
+ Presence of parents, family, wife. Also very frequent, especially wife.
+ Strange food, fairly frequent.
+ Strong emotion, especially I'm completely reasonable trying in vain to explain this to people who just don't get it.
+ Girls :)
+ Fights/conflicts.
+ Flying/gliding/jumping high.
I have only just started learning about LD's, but this morning when I got up I wrote down one of my dreams (which I usually can't do because I smoke so much weed haha). In my dream I was chopping up weed and I was going to smoke it, which made me think, and then I realised that I've had quite a lot of dreams with weed in them.
I guess one of my dream signs is weeeed! :D
My dream signs? Hmph. It took me about two weeks to analyse my old remembered dreams and new ones to figure these out.
Darkness (not complete darkness, but right next to the level where you can't see at all)
And unknown people.

I always end up in places I've never been before in dreams, so in the waking hours (hopefully when I'm asleep as well) I always evaluate my location and if I've been here or not.
I have 3 that occur.
Free-falling.
Old friends.
Cloudy/Starry skies
Changing Numbers or Pictures
School, but I don't use it, cuz, uhm, meh.
