Due to the fact that Raven and I have been exceptionally busy, and not been able to chat on Skype with everyone, I am starting this chat thread. Any time we chat will be posted in the Announcements thread.
This thread is just for any casual chat for everyone in the class that is related to shared dreaming.

Tomorrow is when we are focusing on having a shared dream with someone, so would it be a good idea to make an SD Class Partner thread?
Me and AndresLD have sort of teamed up and have already been trieng to meet up for 6 days. We both have a lot in comon and have gotten to know each other and I think it helps a lot.

I've got a question. Reading through the posts I've encountered I've noticed that in your dreams you seem to take a great number of forms (pretty versatile). How do you do that? Does walking in the form of some non-humanoid thingy (say a wolf) come naturally or do you have to, uh, practice?
Shapeshifting is done by using some sort of device of just your mind and maybe a mirror. Just tell yourself you will become what you want to be, for example think of all the archetypes relating to being a wolf. It's nose, it's eyes, the fur color, any patterns, thin or strong, how it moves etc.Quote:

I'm still focusing on actually getting lucids. I'm still a beginner :( I've only ever gotten ones where I'm like "Yeah i'm dreaming" but it's like i'm drunk and don't know what I'm doing. I LOVE that realisation feeling though, when you suddenly know you're dreaming :)
I've shapeshifted once! It was awesome, but I only really realised I'd done it when I woke up. I turned into a wolf, and then I turned back into a human and grew wings :D
My lucid dreams are kinda like that too. The only time I get anything done is if I make a plan before I fall asleep.Quote:

Yeah, MILDs really help me out. Problem is, after WBTB, if I try a MILD I find it hard to sleep because I'm concentrating on repeatedly thinking and imagining something. I also wake up real quick. It works though!
I don't even remember the transformation stage. I ran my ass off into a field of nettles and suddenly I had fur and was on all fours :banana:

Woah, that's pretty cool. I'm gonna try that. I tried to shapeshift in one of my first lucids by creating a machine for it, but it didn't work.

I think I might have! I have a re-occuring guy in my dreams who only appears to save my ass whenever people are trying to kill me. This isn't too often, but still.
Whenever I remember, I try to call out and summon him. Last time I saw a dark figure coming towards me but I got paralysed and woke up.
It's funny. He kinda looks like me too :? It's made me think along the lines of anima animus.

I think Zelda would make an excelent dream guide. She is after all the possesor of the triforce of wisdom and she can do magic and you can even have her as your dream guide and keep the canon of the games intact!
That makes me want to play Twilight Princess! It's the only one I've played but it's awesome :D

I agree. But Samus has all those beast weapons and her Power Suit, along with her scanner thingy and Chozo training. Hmmm.... I'll probably stick with Zelda though.Quote:

Yeah i need help with that too. I go through my day in a daydream most of the time.
Meditation helps, i've heard. As does focussing on your breathing. :)

It was given to me after my (probable) DG saved my life. He told me to go and kill the "Dark Creatures" that were in a nearby cave. So I went, thinking I'd be able to take a few rats or something, and found a cult of dark hooded figures chanting. I sliced a pipe and sprayed them with hot steam. I tried to fight them off, but about 10% of my dreams are violent so I have NO fighting experience and ended up running my ass off with them chasing after me.
I woke up, and was like "WHOA! :banana:"
It was one of my best dreams :D
If we share dreams we can teach you how to fight or you could ask your dream guide to teach you. :)
That sounds good :D another dream I had, I was getting chased (I always seem to get chased) and came to a dead end. My fighting skills were miserable...
Recently my dreams have sucked though. No action in them whatsoever :(

not so far. We havn't been having a lot of lucids latly and we both have woken up before we could get to our meeting place. Last night I became lucid but wasted a lot of time with other stuff and woke up before I got around to actualy teleporting. It woldn't have been a problem but I failed to DEILD and I couldn't fall back to sleep for the next 2 hours :panic:
Aww :( Patience right? I've realised after 4 months of learning lucid dreaming (well, maybe 3 because of my month off) you need a lot of the stuff.
I'm going to get to grips with MILD first, and focus on improving the clarity of my dreams. I'm also trying to improve my awareness. After that I think i'll move onto WILD.
Was anyone else kind of wary of shared dreaming at first? Not in a skeptical or fearful way, but more like you want to keep your little world and don't want anyone to interrupt? That's how I felt. Then I thought I couldn't miss the chance and it could be pretty awesome :D
MILD helped me a lot. I coud get a lucid every other night during the summer using MILD and it was really easy to remember my goals and stuff. School has made it harder though and I only get one or two a week. I sugest you read this because Stephan LaBerge is the best at MILDing and is the one who made me realize how good of a technique it can be.
I have also learned patience long ago and I don't really wort to much because I have thosands of hours left to dream. I wasn't really wary of shared dreaming because after reading the dream journals of Raven Knight and Waking Nomad its just to cool of an idea. Even if its not reall it makes things a lot more exciting.
Yeah school is a bitch right now. I've got prelims tomorrow that I have to focus on. I sit in school and think "I could be doing something so much cooler right now"
Yeah I read their dream journals too, but I've always been a person who likes their own space. It's one of the reasons why I haven't told my friends and family about lucid dreaming. :)

Hey Raspberry, if we ever share dreams, I will teach you how to fight. I've never needed to in a lucid but I usually fight in my dreams so maybe I can. I guess I'll see haha

haha, if we all teach you, then you will probably know all our strengths, weaknesses, and techniques. So you might win, but how many of us our there? That could affect the battle. And I still need a signature weapon, to find my DG, and become lucid because its been awhile
Hmmm... But in the end we'll all fly off and defeat some kind of demon vampire monster. Then to celebrate we'll eat our weight in cake do other impossible things :D

My signature weapon is a dark purple dagger and a light short sword. Dagger in left hand, sword in right. The dagger is for defense and throwing, sword is for everything else.

If I share dreams with anyone, I'll need some fight training too. I haven't fought too much in my lucids, and when I do it's usually laggy and weird.
I really like Twillight Princess, very nice game, and i would be happy to meet any of you on the dream plane, if you want to meet up.
I have a whole arsenal of imagenary weapons and powers. Its pretty much every weapon I would ever want. I wrote them all down too. I plan on keeping them in my fortress and summoning them whenever I need them but since I havn't been able to make my fortress yet I havn't been able to.
