SD Class Chat thread

Due to the fact that Raven and I have been exceptionally busy, and not been able to chat on Skype with everyone, I am starting this chat thread. Any time we chat will be posted in the Announcements thread. This thread is just for any casual chat for everyone in the class that is related to shared dreaming. Aloha, Nomad

Me and AndresLD have sort of teamed up and have already been trieng to meet up for 6 days. We both have a lot in comon and have gotten to know each other and I think it helps a lot.

I've got a question. Reading through the posts I've encountered I've noticed that in your dreams you seem to take a great number of forms (pretty versatile). How do you do that? Does walking in the form of some non-humanoid thingy (say a wolf) come naturally or do you have to, uh, practice?

Does walking in the form of some non-humanoid thingy (say a wolf) come naturally or do you have to, uh, practice? Shapeshifting is done by using some sort of device of just your mind and maybe a mirror. Just tell yourself you will become what you want to be, for example think of all the archetypes relating to being a wolf. It's nose, it's eyes, the fur color, any patterns, thin or strong, how it moves etc. You were probably talking to Nomad though, right?

I'm still focusing on actually getting lucids. I'm still a beginner I've only ever gotten ones where I'm like "Yeah i'm dreaming" but it's like i'm drunk and don't know what I'm doing. I LOVE that realisation feeling though, when you suddenly know you're dreaming I've shapeshifted once! It was awesome, but I only really realised I'd done it when I woke up. I turned into a wolf, and then I turned back into a human and grew wings

Yeah, MILDs really help me out. Problem is, after WBTB, if I try a MILD I find it hard to sleep because I'm concentrating on repeatedly thinking and imagining something. I also wake up real quick. It works though! I don't even remember the transformation stage. I ran my ass off into a field of nettles and suddenly I had fur and was on all fours

Same for me too. Woah, that's pretty cool. I'm gonna try that. I tried to shapeshift in one of my first lucids by creating a machine for it, but it didn't work. Has anyone found their dream guide yet?

I think I might have! I have a re-occuring guy in my dreams who only appears to save my ass whenever people are trying to kill me. This isn't too often, but still. Whenever I remember, I try to call out and summon him. Last time I saw a dark figure coming towards me but I got paralysed and woke up. It's funny. He kinda looks like me too It's made me think along the lines of anima animus. Any luck finding yours? ;0

Nice. My 'dream guide' was, well here: Brace yourself for the incoming stupid. I remember telling myself to picture a white room, with my dream guide in it. I jumped, or rather crawled, into the large mirror above the bathroom sink. I was in a white room. I expected a plain white room, no doors, windows, or stairways, but I got a white room WITH doors, windows, and stairways. I looked at my dream guide, and almost laughed at his appearance. He was an old Chinese guy with a box of Pein-aid, which what I understand is a bandage with ointment for your penis. He handed me a paper and I took a quick look at it. I asked, "What's your name?" "Flynn." lol. "So, you are an actual person?' (I got that from the paper he handed me.) "Yes." "Not my subconscious, or an other-worldly entity?" "Yes." I decided to test if he was an actual person by forcing him to say something weird. I asked, "Could you just say something, random, could be anything you want?" He said, "Uh, sure." I focused on the box, trying to get him to read off it it, hopefully saying something like penis. He did indeed read off the box and said,"Uh, ballsack, penis, orgasm..." I said "Enough! You've done okay." I decided to humor the idiot instead of kicking his ass through the glass window behind him. "You can be my dream guide only temporarily. If you don't work out, you will leave." He nodded. I walked out the next door, to find myself in a spa. I lost lucidity at that point. I never saw him again. Just another mindless DC.

It's funny. He kinda looks like me too It's made me think along the lines of anima animus. I agree. It most of the dream guides I read about are the oposite sex of the dreamer. I havn't met my dream guide yet but based on the leads I have gotten so far I am almost certain my dream guide is a girl.

Is having an old Chinese man a good sign? XD I'm hoping it to be a something cool like a wolf or Altair or Samus/Zelda.

I think Zelda would make an excelent dream guide. She is after all the possesor of the triforce of wisdom and she can do magic and you can even have her as your dream guide and keep the canon of the games intact!

That makes me want to play Twilight Princess! It's the only one I've played but it's awesome He's given me a dagger before. It was white and gold and could cut through anything. What gifts have you guys recieved?

I think Zelda would make an excelent dream guide. She is after all the possesor of the triforce of wisdom and she can do magic and you can even have her as your dream guide and keep the canon of the games intact! I agree. But Samus has all those beast weapons and her Power Suit, along with her scanner thingy and Chozo training. Hmmm.... I'll probably stick with Zelda though. that sounds cool Raspberry and does anyone have tips for increasing awareness because most of my dreams have really obvious signs but i don't notice them

Yeah i need help with that too. I go through my day in a daydream most of the time. Meditation helps, i've heard. As does focussing on your breathing.
