Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Day One:
Pre-Sleep:
Attended my first class today, it was well put together and left me eager to dive into the world of MILD's. I've never practiced MILD's so this is all new information to me. From today and so on I will be meditating prior to sleep and throughout the day. Professor Percy has stated not to watch television or any other video before bed so from today on I will cut it out of my nightly line up. All of my dreams and emotions will be recorded in this thread for present and future reference. Tonight will be my first experimentation with the MILD technique. I am somewhat nervous I suppose but I feel confident and positive that I will succeed throughout this class. I wish the best of luck to my fellow classmates and hope everyone does well.
In-between Sleep:
I woke up around four in the morning after a marvelous dream. I was at a water park with my family and I was able to get on every ride. Everything was going great, I could feel the water on my skin, I could feel and hear the air coming through my hair. All was well until I discovered a new ride that I had never seen before. It looked twice as big as all the other slides, it was definitely a site to see. I got in line for the ride which was alarmingly named "Suicide Falls". That along with the twists, twirls, and even loops should have been enough to get out of line but I was curious. I finally had reached the top and it was my turn to go down. I remember the instructor telling me to keep my body as compact as possible otherwise I could face breaking my neck or dieing. So I got in formation and proceeded down the slide, immediately I was shot down at speeds I've never experienced before, I felt like I was flying on water. Here came the first loop, I thought "how can this be possible, I'm going to die". The loop was all a ruse, an optical illusion, instead of going into a loop the pipe lowered and I went straight down towards the finish. This was quite possibly the most scared I have been throughout a dream, the whole time I was fearful of being crushed to death.
Post-Sleep:
I woke up this morning rather later than usual, around eleven o'clock to be honest. My dream was rather different and pointless but relaxing after the whole water park fiasco. I was at a diner in my neighborhood with some friends. We had gotten to the window where we order and I asked for pizza, when the woman told me the price I spit the pizza out and began to argue with her. The price had increased nearly 4x's the usual rate and I was angry. She told me that if I didn't have the money I would have to work it off. I refused and left but as I got to my car I noticed there had been shackles around it. I knew I couldn't drive like this so I went back to the kitchen to attempt to steal the key. I pretended to be apologetic and as I was doing work I was looking for the key, I eventually found it underneath a toaster oven and bolted out of the kitchen. Three of the employees ran after me but I got away. It's not like I should have payed for the pizza anyways, I had one bite
I love your format!! It is very comfortable to read! Good job on avoiding TV on the last times of going to bed! It is normal to be a little nervous, you will be more after class #2 and #3. With the small switch of focus, it makes your subconscious a little unstable.
That water park dream was awesome, specially that new ride of yours. Too bad it ended out scary. It would have been cool if you turned lucid on your way down. Vivid dreams can be sometimes better than lucid dreams (and easily turnable into a lucid dream)
Keep up the good work!!

Thursday, January 20, 2011. Day Two:
Pre-Sleep:
Performed some afternoon meditation today in hopes to strengthen my connection with my body and mind. I will be performing more meditation tonight before bed and possibly throughout the night. I hope to get some drawing and design done tonight to further strengthen my connection with my dream world. I plan on getting to bed earlier than usual tonight, I have a busy and early day tomorrow. I'm going to be using an application recommend by a user here on the forums to further provoke my chances of having a lucid dream. Along with the application I will be setting an alarm for around four in the morning so I can attempt to WILD/WBTB.
In-between Sleep:
Nothing to record, slept like a baby.
Post-Sleep:
I had one dream that really stuck out and was quite vivid. I was driving down an unrecognizable street when I began to contemplate whether it was reality or not. As I was debating whether or not I was dreaming I noticed cars around me were speeding by almost like a race. I can't stand when people go around me when I believe to be going an adequate speed so I stepped on my gas. Little did I know I there was a giant canyon ahead. I don't know how fast I was going but I could notice the dream around me beginning to fade all that remained vivid was the car and the road. I finally saw the canyon ahead and I knew it was to late to hit the brakes so I pressed harder on the gas. There was a ramp at the end of the road so I figured I may be able to jump the canyon and survive somehow. I hit the ramp, it looked amazing, I could see the entire canyon below myself but I didn't have enough speed. I knew I wasn't going to make it. It then hit me, I knew I was dreaming! But by then it was to late, I couldn't get my seat belt off and my car crushed straight into the canyon wall. Everything went black and I woke up. Good stuff.
Lol... is the title JP's MILD WORKBOOK a picture or is a font?
Very nice format. I'm gonna try to do something like that.

Friday, January 21, 2011. Day Three:
Pre-Sleep:
Today has been a very productive day starting with me waking up three-four hours early than usual. Followed by a heavy load of basketball and baseball. I am tired to say the least. It will definitely be an early night and I'm expecting to have some great dream recall tonight. I plan on doing some meditating and thorough reality checks before resting for the night and I may set an alarm for a WBTB attempt. All in all a great day lets make it even better.
In-between Sleep:
Had a very very weird dream. I was in a massive parking lot with a few of my friends looking for my car. We were looking everywhere but couldn't seem to find it. We stumbled upon some weird looking people and as we were walking by they grabbed two of my friends and threatened to kill them. We didn't know what to do so we just talked to them telling them it wasn't worth it, the usual. All of a sudden a large group of mice swarm me and my other friends and knock us to the floor and begin biting us. I could actually feel the pain of them biting and crawling up my skin, luckily I was able to wake myself up. Very painful and very awkward dream.
Post-Sleep:
My next dream I consider to be even stranger than my first. I was in my upstairs bathroom and I was raising insects (which I hate). I had tank after tank filled with grasshoppers, slugs, spiders, and even mosquitoes. I noticed one of the tanks had fallen over and some water had gotten into the tank so I lifted open the top to let the water out and all of the mosquitoes got out! I didn't know how to get them back in the tank so I ended up having to kill them all with a flyswatter. Very different and unusual dream.
Dude.. what is up with all those swarms!!!!
Massive parking lots are cool but confusing. I had a few dreams of massive parking lots of 3-4 floors. In addition, I recalled in the dream where I parked, but then the car is not there... The mind generates random cars for every turn you make xD But I like them because you can see how awesome is the mind.

Sunday, January 23, 2011. Day Three:
Pre-Sleep:
I did some exercises prior to sleep along with performing reality checks. I would visualize an item in my mind and play with it to better my visualization and vividness. I would imagine a can of soda and the effects of me turning it around, crushing it, pouring it, throwing it, etc. Everything I could do to the can I did it. I also pushed and pulled on my extremities to try and get a better sense of my body in reality and within my dream world. I think it helped a lot!
In-between Sleep:
Nothing to record. I didn't wake up once throughout the night...surprisingly.
Post-Sleep:
This is one of my most vivid dreams and possibly my longest to date, it must have been about fifteen-twenty minutes and everything was incredibly clear. I was going to San Fransisco with my brother and my buddies Carlos and Joseph. It was weird because we didn't drive or fly there, we went through the mall. It reminded me of Harry Potter when they go through the brick wall to get to the wizard world. We went down a huge flight of stairs and eventually got to a door than said San Fransisco over it. When we opened the doors the whole city was in front of us. I remember everyone wanting to hug one another, according to them it's a tradition to hug one another when the doors were opened. So we were finally in the city and wandering. I remember we got a car somehow and drove on an underwater road, it was like a snake, we would come up and then go down under water come up and then go back down. We finally go to our hotel room when we ran into about ten girls our age. They said they had a suite room and we should come check it out. So we went up with them and the place was massive, there were two separate rooms they took one side we took the other. I remember golden bed spreads and dark green curtains that covered the bathrooms. It was a party night and literally anything was going, I'll stop it there ;) Definitely a rememberable and remarkable dream.
Pretty good visualization!!!! Tomorrow we will work more on those, but you are really close to the proper ones! Well done!

Monday, January 24, 2011. Day Four:
Pre-Sleep:
It's been a pretty busy and disappointing day, the Chicago Bears lost so I've been pretty upset. Other than that the day has been alright I suppose. I got a lot of my History paper done today so I won't have a lot of work tomorrow. I may finish it tonight so I'm pretty happy about that. I've done several reality checks today and I've done several meditation and visualization techniques today to increase my vividness and dream recall. I plan on setting an alarm for tonight and attempting a WILD or WBTB. I also want to go to bed early so I have a good nights rest and better dreams. I feel confident that tonight will be a good night for dreaming, I have a lot of stress off my shoulders so I can sleep soundly.
In-between Sleep:
I didn't wake up very often today but I did manage to wake up in the morning when I returned back to sleep I was hit with a rather weird dream. I was with my entire family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, everyone. We were in what appeared to be Egypt maybe Mexico and we were climbing pyramid like structures. When we got to the top a huge flood of water came in and destroyed everything below us trapping us in the top of the pyramid. I remember seeing the wave and nearly pissing myself, it was extraordinary. The dream ended with the water eventually draining and everyone running down the pyramid.
Post-Sleep:
After the pyramid dream I kind of woke up again but re-entered another dream. I was in a different country, I'm assuming Germany. I was walking with this woman in a giant courtyard area. But everything in the dream seemed pixiliated and blocky almost like minecraft. I kind of woke up again but as soon as I woke up I told myself, "you are going to re-enter that dream and everything is going to be clear, when you see the womans face you will reality check". I said this three-four times before I fell back asleep and re-entered the dream. When I returned to the dream everything was crystal clear, I could see every individual crack in the cobblestone floors and every blade of grass. When I looked at the woman her face transformed from a blocky face to a normal one. She had blond hair and light blue eyes. I remember tapping on her shoulder and performing a reality check, she smiled at me. Once I knew I was dreaming I walked away from the woman and began observing my enviornment, I looked at the cobblestone floors and the grass which was remarkably green and fluffy. I took it slow but then the dream began to fade for some reason and I was taken somewhere else. I was on a firing line and standing before me was Adolf Hitler. I had no idea what had happened but I knew if I stood around I was going to die. I rushed one of the guards and kind of got him in a choke position, I walked up some stairs with the man and said "give me your damn gun" he let go of the gun and I released him. As I walk up the stairs Hitler walk towards me pulling his gun up towards me. I shot not once, not twice, but three times right into his chest and he fell. I bolted up the stairs and jumped out of a window and landed on a terrace below. The dream would have kept going but I could hear the soldiers coming and yelling my name which pulled me out of my dream and nearly gave me a heart attack in reality
Wow, so u became lucid!!! AWESOME :> too bad i can't yet T_T
awesome

MILD's Since Class Started: [2]
Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Day Four:
Pre-Sleep:
Today (Monday) was a great and very affirming day. I had my first MILD after starting the class and all has been well and positive. I have been performing several meditation techniques today to aid me in my quest for lucid dreams. I plan on doing more meditation before bed and I am considering setting my alarm for early in the morning. I want to try my mantra technique that I used to get lucid today. If it works out I may have found my way in. Very productive day and very positive for tomorrow!
In-between Sleep:
Nothing worth recording really.
Post-Sleep:
Well Dreamviews, I think I'm about to cry. I just had the most perfect MILD and my dog woke me up. I woke up around 8 in the morning to use the bathroom when I went back to bed I told myself "your going to get into a dream and your going to know your dreaming". I said it about five times and eventually I fell asleep. I turned a false awakening into a lucid dream, I was in my bedroom and it was very hard to see. I had to rub my eyes a couple times before I could see anything. I knew something was off so I performed a reality check, I had six fingers, and whadaya know, lucid dream. I also noticed my digital clock was in like five different places on my wall. Anyways, I walked downstairs and everything was crystal clear and exactly how it should have been. Everything was perfect down to the tee. Even the noise my sister makes to excite my dog, it was so perfect I had to reality check nearly three times. I went to take a walk in my neighborhood, as I came outside everything looked normal except for the sky. It was completely gray and it looked like ash was falling. I had just finished closing the door when my god damn dog in reality jumped from my bed causing a loud thump and the bed to rattle. The dream crumbled instantly and back to reality I was. I'm so disappointed but I'm excited for the future, back to back MILDs!

MILD's Since Class Started: [2]
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Day Four:
Pre-Sleep:
Today has been an alright day. I'm coming off back to back MILD's and I'm feeling confident I'll have another one tonight. I just got back from taking my mother to the hospital, everything is fine now but I'm feeling a bit emotionally drained. I did some more meditation and exercises today and I plan on doing some more before I go to bed. I'm planning on completing my task tonight and hopefully I can get the concert task done as well.
In-between Sleep:
Nothing to record.
Post-Sleep:
This final dream is a bit morbid and not lucid but I must write it down. I was in Hawaii and Vegas, the dream kept switching from one place to the other but it ultimately ended in Hawaii. I was with some buddies and we signed up for some battle reenactment games. I remember signing up for the blue team, there was blue, red, white, and yellow. The lady at the registrations desk was a total bitch and we ended up missing the first set of games because of her. So we waited and watched from one of U.S. battle ships. There was a ton of people on it and everyone cheered for their teams. Everything was going great until some weird bald guy made his way onto the ship and went below. No one thought anything of it but I found it peculiar. All of a sudden a large crane like mechanism strikes the side of the ship and it began sinking. Mass chaos began to unfold as people were falling off the ship and going under, I was the first one off the massive ship and I was barely able to make the jump. I'm assuming my friends went down with the ship because I didn't see them. As people were jumping off the ship a large building next to us began to collapse as if it got hit with a bomb or artillery shell. The chaos was even worse. It's a damn shame I wasn't lucid, I could have saved some lives or got the hell out of there.
I am sorry for your mom, but I am happy she is better now!
Have you been trying to use the chest technique and incubation? The first one will help you a lot to fight your thoughts.

Thursday, January 27, 2011. Day Seven:
Pre-Sleep:
Today was a decent day, anytime I have class I'm usually pretty worn out by the time I get home. I did some meditation when I got home and some before I got to bed. I didn't feel like attempting anything or meditating but I did anyways so my attitude before bed was a bit forced and careless.
In-between Sleep:
Nothing to record.
Post-Sleep:
I only had one dream that really stood out, I was at the local park with some friends playing baseball having a good time when the ground began to separate almost like an earthquake. I could see everything trying to dodge the cracks as they came but people were falling into the ground. It wouldn't be long until I was falling, what turned into a pleasent dream turned into me falling through a black hole that never seemed to end. This probably would have been a good time to realize I was dreaming but I was out of it.
