I've watched a whole bunch of movies with casey affleck and christian bale in them, I gotta say they really sucked in all of them.
Tower Heist moderately funny, not well executed. The heist itself was cool but it was more as if everything just went there way and there was none of those moments were you're like "that was fucking genuis"
Out of the furnace Now this is a prime example of movie that spends 2 hours trying to build characters that are so weak you forget them by the end of the movie. Literally I just spent the whole movie being absolutely annoyed at what a terrible role affleck had to play. Can't even remember there names.
Gone Baby Gone was a great movie until the entire ending. It was deep and meaningful in a way, but it's been a while since I've been that disappointed in a character who suddenly does a moral backflip.Spoiler for Big Spoiler for people who wish to share my disappointment!:
Limitless awesome movie based on a ridiculous premise. I liked how the whole movie flowed despite some worrying plot holes. I guess story-wise it may not be great, just like jumper it's a movie you watch for the thought "wow imagine if that was possible"
American Hustle Christian Bale and the guy from limitless both sucked in this movie. I found it boring and hard to follow, I'm sure some will like it.
American Psycho I actually kind of enjoyed this movie while it was playing, but the best moment is when you start thinking about it afterwards. It almost seems like a shoddy horror at times, but the pervading message is awesome. The 80's yuppies scene was so superficial that a psychopath fitted in perfectly and efficiently. Despite being a a deeply rooted psychopath with a weird tendency to tell everyone about who he murdered, no one even notices. He gets a great apartment, a girlfriend and a high job position.
I really loved how by the end of the movie it became clear that christian bale wasn't the true psycho, the American yuppie scene was. The entire lives of every yuppie in the movie is dominated by living a superficial ideal to be the best, be friends with everyone and be outgoing and fun. Yet none of them were, no one knew each other truly. In a way everyone in the movie showed self inflicted psychopathic traits.
