If you like dishonored then you should play the game that the devs got their inspiration from. Thief:The dark project and Thief2:The metal age and Thief3 although thief3 is considered to be the worst of the three. Oh and if you do buy thief make sure you get the gold edition.
The first two and the Gold edition are on Steam for $6.74 total for the next couple days: Save 75% on Thief Collection on Steam
Eh, I can't really play old looking games at all. I'm shallow like that.
But I hardly play games at all anymore so it'd have to be pretty damn special for it to hold my attention. Anyways I just completed my third playthrough of Dishonored. That makes one Low Chaos playthrough, one High Chaos playthrough, and one Ghost (alert nobody) / Shadow / Clean Hands (kill nobody) playthrough.
Oh, wait, actually... I've been playing a hell of a lot of Just Dance 4 lately. Only realized just now that that's something I could mention here.
It's a really fun game, I only wish we had it for the Xbox Kinect rather than the Wii. The Wii can only see what the Wii remote does, so it is supposedly actually easier to win by just standing still and moving your hand, so it depends a lot on the player's own willingness to play along with rules that the game can't enforce. But it's tons of fun. (And it made me realize that I like pretty much all of the music. All the mainstream music that many people love to hate.)
-Assassins Creed Brotherhood
-Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (Sucky graphics bother me too, so I got Overhaul. I also got a teleport ring because I hated walking everywhere, esp places I've been to.)
-RAGE
-Kinect Adventures. I'm going to get all those badges if it kills me.
And the Steam winter sale is still going on until Jan 5, they've had some pretty good deals so far if anyone is interested.
Far cry 3 and The Walking Dead
Minecraft
Really enjoying Far Cry 3 at the moment. It's addictive.
And I'm always hopping back onto minecraft. Never gets old.
Been playing loads of "Mage Knight board game" lately with my girlfriend. It gets betterer and betterer with each play. Also played some "Faster than light".
Anyone see the sweet THQ pack on steam
It's friggin amazing!!! 22 games that usually cost around 240€ for only 25€, it's a tenth of the orginal
Not to mention that I love the warhammer series and I've heard good things about saints row and metro 2033 and red faction.
League of Legends and Assassins Creed 3
Playing through the Dragon Age series,
Looking forward to Bioshock Infinite, but I doubt I'll get it soon after the release date.
MInecraft is one of the best sandbox game i've ever played. The possibilities are endless. I've spent around 30-40 hours playing it and after fending off zombies and gathering resources, I present to you all, my humble home :) :
Spoiler for House:
I currently have 5 or 6 stacks of RedStone dust. I might upgrade the security capability of my house once i learn how to use it.
You should get a different texture pack Weakamon, you'll never go back.
Here's my latest creation, may have used creative mode to do it though..
Spoiler for My Castle:
I'm playing The Witcher (1) Enhanced Edition, as well as Morrowind on the side.
Also installed The Void. I've tried to beat that game 4 different times in the past, but its so difficult. :<
I've been playing a bit of Civ 5, just because I was in the mood for a futzing-around game, as opposed to a competitive strategy game or a thumb-twitchy tablet game. Oh, but I have been busting out Spirit HD on my tablet a bit, too. I wish there were some good recent city builders--I still end up going back to Tropico 2: Pirates Cove, which is the most fun city builder and most fun pirate game I've played. Cities XL 2012 on Steam is tempting, but it has really mixed reviews.
The lack of Halo is disturbing.
Well Bungie didn't make Halo 4... 1-3 were awesome and so was Reach I thought. Halo's pretty much all I play, since like 2007. I'm constantly feeling let down by Halo 4 but I still play it all the time anyway. H4 is so buggy and ill-conceived it feels like a beta for H5.
What? How is it buggy and whats disappointing? I never felt like the guns were so balanced, each the loadouts weapon having certain ups and downs so that they are balanced, Plus I like the unlockable weapon skins, how you get helmets and stances for doing certain things, I'm working on my Covenant loadout and ordinance right now, just mastered the sword last night.
for me the worst thing that gets to me is the boltshot, no online FPS should ever put a one shot in the load out, Coming from the guy that only plays COD with a .50CAL on hardcore, BOOM Oneshot BOOM headshot.
Overall, my opinion is that everything they changed from Reach is worse, all the good things about it were derived from Reach (whereas in Reach, I thought there were a good many improvements from H3 mixed with just a handful of things that became worse). The only thing I would call an improvement in H4 is the graphics.
I use forge mode a lot and have since Halo 3, so I'm probably using the game a bit differently than most people who just play matchmaking and campaign. Forge mode is particularly buggy and the resulting custom games can be as well. There are legacy glitches that they copied from Reach without fixing and some new ones they just invented. Here's a partial list:
Compendium Thread: Halo 4 issues - Forge Hub
As for what I don't like about the things they did on purpose, my main complaint is the ordinance drop system, which I just don't like. Any player on any map can suddenly have any weapon in the game at any moment, and that makes lots of things less fun to me. Maps no longer have so much of their own distinct gameplay characteristics, specific strategic locations are less important. Plus 90% of the ordinances I get are inferior to the DMR I already have in my hands.
Most of the maps I think are bad, but that was one of the main weaknesses in Reach as well. A bit peripheral to the game itself, but the Waypoint website is the worst performing website I have ever encountered, lol.
Lots of people complain about the Boltshot, but I don't have a problem with it. Looking at my service record, I have a total of 5 deaths form it, so I can't say I'm overly bothered by it. I don't use it, but whatever. The weapon balance is ok. It seems like most everything is more powerful that it was, but I thought it was all fine before too. They took out my favorite weapon ever, the grenade launcher form Reach, I know it wasn't a popular weapon but I don't think I'll ever forgive them for that. Some of the new Forerunner weapons are fun.
The campaign story arc with Cortana is absurd, lol. I can't believe how much the sexualized that character. Subtlety, guys. Sheesh.
Things I like are the graphics, the loadouts are ok once you get used to them. It seemed like a bad idea to me at first but it works. Oddball is super fun with the ability to pass to teammates now.
Oh yeah Forge in this one sucks, Personnally I think 3 had the best forge, but Reach was good to, In this one it just doesn't feel like its as open to uniqueness and completely custom made maps, I also really think they need a ForgeWorld like map
Reach had the best Forge IMO. 343i did a great job with Halo 4 but since I've been playing Halo since CE came out in 2001, the story ended perfectly at Halo 3 for me. I feel no need to continue it even though I'm sure they will do a great job of it. I'm looking forward to Bungie's next game "Destiny".
CE was awesome I was so young when that came out but I still remember playing the whole thing, then having parties and playing split screen all night. Honestly I think it took them to long to talk more about the Forerunner like they have in this one, they got too caught up on the Covenant and Flood story line.
Either way good series, and I'm looking forward to the next one too. Havent checked out destiny yet, is it the game that got leaked recently?
