Do you think that they were psychotherapists or just "Get rid of the evidence and say that it is because.... we don't want other terrorists... or some kind of Martyrdom.... or....just do it."
Didn't I say the wife-shield was total BS? How many times are they gonna change the story I wonder. Btw I do not believe they actually dumped him in the sea. He's chilling in a top secret locker somewhere next to some frozen aliens. This IS the government we're talking about people. Are they likely to just get rid of his body like that? Somehow, I really don't think so.
Because Osama's body will prove very useful for secret and sinister scientific experiments.
I'm not sure the US was the source of the wife thing. I know they said that a female was intentionally in the line of fire.
I believe war crimes are mass atrocities such as genocides or systematic killing of civilians.
To my knowledge, it's a war crime to shoot a military unit who is "hors de combat" (incapable of combat), which includes POWs, soldiers unable to defend themselves (due to wounds, unconsciousness, ejected fighter pilots, etc.), and those attempting to surrender.Quote:
Isn't it a war crime to shoot someone who is unarmed?
Though as an unlawful combatant, Bin Laden would have had minimal protection under the Geneva Conventions and wouldn't qualify for POW status. If he specifically refused to surrender then it's arguable that he was a valid military target, though equally one could argue that he was incapable of defending himself and could have been restrained.
You can attack unarmed military targets that are potentially capable of defending themselves, providing they are valid targets.
Incidentally, taking human shields is also a war crime.
I love you guys.
Yeah this thread is getting a little crazy. Shooting Bin Laden was a decision already made regardless of whether or not he was armed. Considering he's responsible for about 3,000 lives lost on 9/11 by having his buddies fly airplanes into some of the worlds tallest buildings, I could honestly give a rats ass about shooting this man unarmed (IMO). They also had to consider the possibility of him getting away.
About dumping his body, I'm not even going to get into because none of us seem to know for sure.
Pakinstan now pulling even more unbelievable shit by blaming the rest of the world for failing to find Bin Laden. This being the country where Bin Laden was hiding in a massive fuck-off concrete bunker next to their fucking military academy.
I feel some mass hatred towards Pakistan coming on.
True; that's why they should do themselves a favour and stop making utterly imbecilic statements like the above.
A good, balanced article about the White House's actions in particular from the BBC's US correspondent Mark Mardell:

He didn't even buy his mansion, he had it built for him. I mean it's not like he would have signed his name of the check, but still.
