If in the future we learn to travel back in time, why havnt we seen any body from the future in present day or in history books?
What if you can only travel into the future. Plus all you need to do is look the part and you will not be noticed.Quote:

When you mentioned that, I remembered these statues, maby they did travel back in time... :lol: . I once also saw some pictures of little (Inka, Aztec or Mayan-don't remember) statues of people using some complex machinery, operating valves and I think there were some statues of people "driving" some dinosaurs using sticks. I believe there were a lot of different odd stuff found there, inclouding things like a launching platform, small model planes, etc... Quite scary actually.Quote:

Thats another reason why I believe Time Travel isnt and never will be possible. The universe wouldnt let it be possible, as everything is a paradox. It'd be a rip in time and throw everything off balance. You go back in time, kill your mother. You wont be born, so you wont be able to go back in time. Because you cant go back, you cant kill your mother, thus you'll be born. And the cycle continues. Its the same as whatever you do.
In my opinion, there are a few possible reasons we never get the time travel technology:
1. Its impossible
2. Humans became Smart enough to realize the damage it could do and never use it
3. The human race ultimately blows itself up before learning the technology
And I think everyone can agree that 1. and 3. are the most likely here.
Dont mess with the past. Hitler was from the future and look at the mess he made.

Travel the speed of light, time stands still for you. Time exists outside at normal rate. You go back in time but not in a conventional way of thinking.
No time has passed for you but 50 years passes on earth. So you are going back into time.
Time travel is impossible. You just can't travel back in time, there would be 2 of the same person and it would create paradoxes (like the 'killing your own granddad' one).
Changing how fast time passes in an area can be done however. So you could say you could travel into the future, only during your traveling you would pass trough all the years that seem like an instant to you, and people from the outside, in an area were time doesn't passes as quickly, would see you moving extremely slow.
Traveling back in time = Impossible, even if it was possible, traveling back in time would more likely create a new universe then going back in time to make sure your dad marries your mom and they become cooler then they were.
I never thought it was possible there must be a law of nature to prevent time travel and thereby prevent paradoxes arising. So it can never be done.

In the film Donnie Darko when a time paradox occurs something always resolves it. If a paradox did occur we will be forced to resolve it or their will be some unseen thing to stop you. I remeber a story where a person goes back in time and shots himself well everthing he did failed intill he decided to blow up everything. The stories jump back to the beginning where he goes to enter he time mechaine but their something in their and it disappear.

Time travel is possible, but only in one direction; namely, forwards. This has been known since the beginning of the 20th century.
Timetravel is possile. I watched a tv programme on it. It's just not some stupid science-fiction "step into a shiny box covered in flashing lights, press some buttons and appear at the birth of Jesus" thing. I watched a tv show on it a while back and it said that when you travel in orbit of the Earth at speed you don't age like the people down on Earth. They worked out (according to Einstein's theory) that after a few years of travelling close to the speed of sound, the crew of a Russian satellite had aged a 50th of that of everyone down on Earth.
Here's a quote from this article that explains it better than I can. Basically you can only go forward in time and you need to be moving fast for it to make any significant effect.

The speed of sound basically has no real significance in physics. It's not even a fixed value; the speed of sound in what, exactly?
It's the speed of light (ie electomagnetic waves) which is the crucial factor in time travel.
However, nobody's ever travelled anywhere near the speed of light, so nobody's ever travelled a significant amount of time into the future.
They've measured discrepancies of like, 0.0000000000001 seconds before, after people travelled in spacecraft and such, but that's all.
Certainly nowhere near a factor of 50 though, or even 1/50.
I have travelled back in time, left Ibiza airport at 10am and got to England at 11am on a 2 hour flight... Go figure lol.

Time travel would be cool. I'd send John Stossel back and have him report on Jesus, his miracles, and what really happened to his body. It would put an end to all the arguing :D.
