Yea south park is great. Not that that episode made any actual sense (like all episodes), beside pointing out some funny contradiction in America (south park is like, a bit of self-reflection). But on the part that America is in a war its population *cough*failingdemocracy*cough* doesn't want to be in, isn't a thing to be proud of. The founding fathers would be ashamed of this current government.

You may not agree with U.S. policy and thats fine, but take a look back into history. How many European powers raped and exploited African, Asian, North and South American nations? I can name a few: Britain, France, Belgium, Spain, and THE NETHERLANDS! Don't tell me the United States is the "bad guy" when your nations did much worse in as little as half a century ago. I can't be too harsh though. Both Europe and the United States have undoubtedly contributed a great deal of good things to the world. The one fact that you must remember is that people are fundamentally the same. When any group of people attains a position of power, that group exerts is dominance and will upon those who are weaker. This has occured since the beginning of recorded history. Through the centuries every major power has naturally put its own interests before those of others. On every inhabited continent, power struggles have taken place. This is not an issue of being American or European or Middle-Eastern. We are all the same. When we get power we often abuse it. That is why it is ignorant, Neuro, to say that you hate 75% of all Americans. Your statement would be the same as me saying that I hate 75% of Europeans because of imperialism or lack of support for the United States.

Unfortunately, some Europeans have not yet learned that stereotypes are not very accurate. We Americans are good people and the rest of the world only pays attention to the bad things we have done instead of the overwhelming amount of good things we have done, higher in quantity and quality than what they are doing. America isn't bad or evil, it is just a big target and thus, a big scapegoat.

If the US said...

"Fuck the rest of the world. IMO The UN is the biggest BS that ever came out. The US should just drop it and start a real pact with just a few countries. Those countries, are the countries that would actually receive any benefits.

Don't blame America - blame civilization as a whole for the problems that occur. Blame the people who started these problems. Blame America for not being able to solve these problems. Even more, blame the countries that sit around do absolutely nothing.

World geography textbooks would have to be replaced every school year. A lot of Europe would become an Islamic dictatorship.

Yeah, America was a GREAT save haven for all the African people that got oppressed by the French, Spanish and Dutch. They kept giving black people their own special toilets for even up to half a century ago! Now that is kind!

Europe is not that dependant on the US. The European armies would easily repell the Moslems if they attacked. I can only see Russia being a threat to Western Europe, but Russia is not Islamic.

Yes, that's probably true. But if they did - would a European citizen feel comfortable with Saddam still in power (this was when we believed he had weapons of mass destruction), or a country like North Korea not being monitored? The US might not have been in striking distance, but Europe certainly is.

What if the US never did anything, and these countries actually built up an arsenal of nuclear weapons. I wouldn't be worried about an infantry attack, I would be worried about what's flying through the air.

And it's not even only about Europe, because Europe is not a target.

If these countries started launching nukes at each other, there would be some problems. Oil supplies would run out faster because how would we extract oil from a wasteland, and the effects on the global environment would be terrible.

And how long would Europe survive if a nuclear war started and they remained neutral? I doubt the new global environment would be very friendly ;)

That's a good point. Europeans are pussies when it comes to war nowadays, so they would probably not fight it in an offensive manner even despite the superior European technology, giving the Iraqis and Iranis time to get nuclear weapons.

I would just like to mention that European countries and Russia are resisting U.S. attempts to put missile defense in their territory because Europe says it would make them a bigger target and Russia says it would start a new arms race. They fear that they will not be neutral anymore if missile defense is placed in Europe then they would be a target for infantry attacks or something like that. Somewhere in Europe there are protests to these bases saying "Bush terrorist no. 1!" which makes absolutely no sense.

I was not saying that the United States is/was a shining beacon of righteousness, I was simply pointing out the fact that Europe has comitted just as many, if not more, reprehensible actions than the United States. I gaurantee you that if Europe continued to be in a position of global military dominance, there would still be colonies in the areas I mentioned before.

I doubt it, it's hard keeping countries under control, by the 60s or 70s all the colonies would have bought arms somewhere are revolted. Anyhow, that is not the case.

In what ways is America less democratic than it was 100 or 200 years ago? Do you even know what you are talking about? I doubt you have more than a vague knowledge of the culture and people of the United States, let alone knowledge of American politics.
