A very real conspiracy

A huge scandal is about to really hit the fan. Well, I guess it already has, but not like it's most likely going to. There is a high likelihood that a huge national scandal is going to erupt over this, but right now it is just a Mississippi local story. Trent Lott is tied up in it, but his level of guilt or innocence is still not fully known. Do you remember how Trent Lott came out of the blue and resigned recently? Check this out...

There are state legislators, Congressmen, other judges, and tons of lawyers being looked at in this thing. It just might end up being the biggest corruption story in American history. You heard about it here first. Get ready.

By the way, Bobby Delaughter was the assistant D.A. who prosectuted and put away Byron De La Beckwith, the white supremecist who shot the black civil rights leader Medgar Evers. The movie Ghosts of Mississippi is about that ordeal. Ed Peters was his boss, the D.A. In the movie, Delaughter is played by Alec Baldwin, and Peters is played by Craig T. Nelson. Delaughter became a judge soon after the Beckwith conviction. There is a scene in the movie where some local black politicians angrily say on the news that Delaugher and Peters are "putting on a show". Now I really think they were.

Well, the legal system is really easy to break - look at what's happening in other countries. The legal system has always been badly-made, and a huge scandal like this one was bound to happen at some point. That said, this is sickening.

I'm surprised you are the only person who has had anything to say about the story so far. With all of the Ron Paul cheering, Bush bashing, corporations despising, war protesting, and 9/11 conspiracy talk that goes on here, this thread is pretty barren after thirteen or whatever hours. I thought Mystic would have already told at least twenty people how stupid they are.

Do you remember the enormous tobacco class action lawsuit of a few years back? One of the plaintiff's attorney's involved in it was the Oxford, Mississippi lawyer Dickie Scruggs. At one point, he was involved in an enormous asbestos lawsuit. One of his partners in that case was the Jackson attorney William Wilson. It was later brought to Wilson's attention that Dickie Scruggs apparently owed him more than $15 million in attorney's fees. Scruggs refused to cough up the money, so Wilson sued him for it.

Scruggs got the lawyers Joey Langston and Timothy Balducci to represent him. Both of those lawyers have since pled guilty to bribing judges other than the one who is the main focus of this particular story. Those lawyers got the attorney Ed Peters to work with them. The judge in the Wilson v. Scruggs case was Bobby Delaughter, who used to work for Ed Peters when Peters was the Hinds County district attorney and Delaughter was one of his assistant district attorneys (a team famous for putting away Byron De La Beckwith for killing Medgar Evers, the subject of Ghosts of Mississippi).

Now picture that. Two lawyers who have pled guilty to bribing judges were working with the former boss of the judge in their Wilson case. That judge, Bobby Delaughter, was discovered to have sent an email to his former boss Ed Peters with a rough draft of the decision he was going to hand down. That is a huge ethics violation by itself, and it also strongly suggests judicial bribery, especially considering the fact that he only awarded Wilson $1.5 million instead of $15 million.

Delaughter has not been shown to have received any money so far, but there is another incentive being looked at. Dickie Scruggs' brother-in-law is U.S. Senator Trent Lott, the former Republican leader of the Senate. If the Republican Party were a gang, he would be one of the top lieutenants. Delaughter was seeking to be appointed by Bush to be a federal judge. There is witness confirmation that Delaughter was told by Scruggs through his partners that Delaughter would be considered for the position. There is also a record of Trent Lott making a call to Bobby Delaughter about consideration for appointment to a federal judgeship. It just so happens that the same day Langston and Balducci were arrested by the feds, Trent Lott resigned from the U.S. Senate. Apparently Lott caught wind of the fact that the feds were on the lawyers' asses because he ended up recommending somebody other than Delaughter for the federal judge position, and George Bush took Lott's recommendation for the other guy and appointed him.

Ed Peters is now in the witness protection program. The word on the streets is that Bobby Delaughter is about to resign. If you look at the Delaughter picture in the article I posted, you can see that he is wigged out pretty bad.

On top of all of that, there is evidence of other judges in Mississippi who have given really strange decisions when Dickie Scruggs was a lawyer in the case. Those judges have heat on them now. How state legislators and U.S. Congressmen other than Trent Lott might be involved is something I am not really sure about yet. I only brought that up because of what lawyers around town have been telling me. It sounds like a lot more might be hitting the fan in upcoming months. Stay tuned. :popcorn:

Mystic, I just gave you a government corruption field day on a platter, and that is all you have to say? Clear cases of it that people don't really dispute don't interest you, do they? Are you sure all of that talk you have been doing over the past few months has been about true outrage over government corruption?

Where are all of the government and power bashers? I thought a lot of you were obsessed with this type of stuff. Well, here is a case of it that can actually be proven.

I know! I expected about 100 flame posts from nobody in paticular -

It's suprising that pretty much no anti-goverment crazy conspiracist has posted "narf, narf, I tooold you, you sceptics with small brains! I RULE!". But the main point of these people is to flame, not discuss, maybe it really isn't that suprising.

By the way, this post deals with three things, Mystic:

1. I think you flame post a lot. That wasn't a flame. I can get you plenty of examples from these forums.

2. I laid out what I think your motives are when you flame (which are entirely my opinion. They don't show you in a good light because I don't believe your motives are positive, and that's different from flaming you. I am simply saying that I do not believe your motives to be good).

3. I mentioned people making obscene comments about skeptical people's brain sizes. I have seen these sort of comments. The point of my raising them was to show that these comments are made, as flames, for no reason whatsoever, and that I do not appreciate them being posted as replies to this type of topic. I believe they are anti-government from what they say, I believe they are conspiracists from what they say, and I believe they are crazy for thinking brain size = intelligence it todays world.

My comments were not made as flames - they simply lay out the sad truth of the matter. The last three points was in an attempt to ward of a huige barrage of flames, but I have no delusions that it will work. I know someone will just come and say "YOu R stupid,", I am simply making an effort.

AHS, good points. Mystic (etc.) is definitely being put to the test concerning what his intentions have been all this time. Let's see how he scores on it. I did not at all mean for my thread to be a troll test, but it looks like it really works as one. I have been reading so much about government conspiracy government conspiracy government conspiracy government conspiracy in this forum for so long, and now there is a thread about one that actually has very strong evidence supporting it. What I posted seems to be "really big, elaborate, crazy stuff". We are talking about Trent Lott. He is/was one of the most powerful people in the world's most powerful government. The story I posted could be used as such a good buildging block for establishing the possibilities of other conspiracies. It looks to me like it's just too real to be worth arguing about. I mean, how can you bash people for not knowing what is going on in situations where everybod knows what is going on? Why even talk about it? Dammit, we cannot insult people when everybody agrees about what is going on. No disagreements? Damn! That means we cannot be dicks to each other, so why talk at all?

Like I said, the flamers need anything that's even slightly controversial to attack, and they can't very well say "no, narf narf, this is all a conspiracy to make us THINK there are conspiracies!" because that involves oh so many paradoxes and completely screws their zealous defence of conspiracy for ever.

This is elaborate crazy stuff. Not the actual subject matter, but the fact that it was exposed. Look at Russia - you need to bribe gangsters, police and your politicians to get freedom to spend your own money (those are the least of the bribes), judges deliver verdicts that have been dictated to them over the telephone by politicians, people are dragged off the street and beaten in little rooms, witnesses in trails have their testimony dictated to them at gunpoint, bodies disappear, elections are fixed, officers of the army there habitually kill there soldiers in the context of "training", enough money bypasses any law and absoloutley anyone who goes against this disappears or dies.

For a very basic overview of this a really great book to read is Putin's Russia, by Anna Politkovskaya. She was assassinated in her flat's elevator.

What shocks me isn't the actual deed - corruption is rife everywhere. But when you see it again and again in Russia, you get used to the fact that there is very visible corruption in Russia. You forgot about corruption in other places. So when yo hear about it in such a place as America - which everyone knows stands for fredom - it's like a splash of cold water in your face.

Well we'll see how much attention is paid to this nationally. It's not nearly as interesting as who 10% of the people in S. Carolina think today about a few Republicrats. And we've got 8 more months of that.

I thought Trent Lott resigned so he could become a lobbyist before they changed the rules. Maybe this had something to do with it too?

The thing is that the "good ole boy" network in Mississippi is so powerful that they have the entire state by the throat and even key parts of Washington. The Delaughter situation is not even a big enough issue in our state. It makes the news, but only in a, "Here's a report for a few seconds/paragraphs," kind of way. If the story were completely ignored, it would be too obvious that the good ole boy network owns the state. I know they have WLBT, WJTV, WAPT, and the Clarion Ledger at least a little bit in their pockets. If this thread continues much longer, I will probably start sounding a whole lot like Mystic and others. The media here is in the midst of a city and state owned by the Baptist mafia. I mean that very literally. The Baptist Church is so powerful here it is outrageous, and the reaches of their conspiracies and pawnings of people with power and influence is jaw dropping. Have you ever noticed how the state capitol building is literally right next door to the biggest Baptist church in Mississippi? First Baptist is the lead church in the Mississippi Baptist Convention, which owns a lot of downtown and the only law school in Jackson, which is one of the only two law schools in Mississippi. The Mississippi Baptist Convention is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, which has some major leashes on the far right wing of the Republican party. Ed Peters, Dickie Scruggs, Bobby Delaughter, the other corrupt judges who are about to get their asses burned by the feds, the attorney general Jim Hood, Trent Lott, and a zillion other Mississippians with power are part of this sick thing. I don't know if all of them are Baptists, but I have seen the signs that they are part of the Baptist mafia, which is a lot like the Sicilian mafia except not as personal and family like. The ones who are not Baptist are probably Methodist, which is just an alter ego of the Baptist Church that people in power here use to make it look like the Mississippi power structure is not all in the hands of the Baptist church. The Baptist mafia, or good ole boy network, is just a big network of corrupt, "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours. We now have an understanding we can use later, and we can introduce each other to others who will work with us in secrecy." I think most of them are probably atheists or agnostics and just use the Baptist/Methodist church in Mississippi as a power tool. There is a lot of power to be gained by way of a religious denomination.

That is exactly why I am so excited about this Delaugher issue. I HAAAAATE the Baptist mafia and really want to see it fall. I want those #$%@ &*(%$* to all sink together like a big fleet of battle ships. My hatred for them almost defies description. Maybe I am getting my hopes up too much that their day of doom has finally come, but it looks like maybe it really has. The federal government has finally penetrated them and taken out a few of their soldiers and is giving a hard look at one of their top generals. I think that is profoundly beautiful.

One of the reasons I argue so much about 9/11 conspiracies and "war all about oil" type stuff is that there is completely real stuff like that going on in the world and I don't like to see people doing what amounts to crying wolf. It is just like when Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson cry out about racism in situations where it does not actually exist. When they do that, they knock big chunks out of people's credibility when they try to expose racism in situations where it really is. I am now talking about a true conspiracy involving very powerful people who I know have really important people in their pockets, and I can't talk about it without sounding like people who have talked about that stuff in places where it has not been proven to exist. I have said all along that maybe it does exist in those places. It does not defy the laws of reality for Bush to have used actual foreign matters that are true problems as an excuse to start wars and get cuts of money from Halliburton. I defninitely see where it is possible. However, I have not seen it proven, and I do know that there are legitimate reasons for our present wars. I hate that people are crying wolf in mass numbers because it hurts our country's ability to make something of circumstances where such things really can be proven.

Universal mind. You have me all wrong. I do debate with you and others seriously at times about things such as this. You may be suprised how much I can apreciate your point of view. I'm the least apathetic about overall corruption. I understand what I can and cannot do about it. What I do and do not know. Like I have told O'nus. This is for me, your responses are to interest me and my learning. Not to win a debate or teach anything about anything. You don't actually think I'm trying to convert you to anything do you? This is just a forum. Serious research is done personally in my own spare time from authors and people I respect. As is serious discussion. That doesn't mean I can't pick up things here and there from people on the forum. But I don't place a lot of importance on what people think or are involved with on this forum in particular. It's not my concern how people choose to live or what to believe. It's just entertainment before I go to work. Besides lucid dreaming is one of my greatest interests. I don't find the scandal particularly news-grabbing. In some bygone era, such a scandal would probably be a pretty big story, but the news networks of today could hardly be bothered with such a 'local' news story.

We've seen this before as well, in a different context. Occasionally, Washington officials, former senators, representatives, military officers, and staff get offered lucrative jobs in the private sector on the strongly-implied condition that they push legislation or earmarks that would be beneficial, or on the promise that they will have even greater influence over the legislative process than they had before. My father happens to work as a contracting specialist for the DoA, and has seen this kind of technically-legal bribe take place.

Could the judge-bribing have a much wider, even more appalling, scope? Perhaps, but the most effective, news-evading bribes are those that occur out in the open, blatantly written into bills and budgets signed by the president himself, or in the super-secret world of unaudited and unverified budget expenses for a multitude of government agencies.

Today, bribed judges. Tomorrow, Telecom amnesty legislation.

You're still a hypocrite. Claiming to be just learning from other people while refusing to absorb anything anyone else is saying and yet still have the nerve to call us blind. You fail to see your own hypocrisy. Have you ever heard of projection? I suggest you read up on it and learn from it as you refuse to listen to other people yet claim to be learning from them.

You have left probably about 100 or more posts on 9/11 in this forum, and you talked about it again in your above post. So, what do you think of multiple judicial bribery involving at least one instance of a former U.S. Senate Majority Leader holding a federal judgeship dangling in the face of a judge while that judge decides the Senator's brother-in-law's fate? You have made zero comments on the subject of this thread even though you have left a few posts.

By the way, our former attorney general, Mike Moore, somehow ended up with documented information that lawyer Balducci (one of the Scruggs lawyers arrested for judicial bribery) was supposed to keep secret under attorney client privilege when Mike Moore was prosecuting Balducci's client. Our current attorney general, Jim Hood, was Joey Langston's (other original Scruggs lawyer) roommate when they were in law school at Ole Miss. Are you starting to get the picture here? More to come.

Trent Lott was not a state Senator in the Mississippi legislature when he resigned recently. He was a U.S. Senator in the U.S. Congress. That part is not merely local. Imagine George Bush doing the same thing. Would you consider it an insignificant local story?

What you are talking about is questionable and very difficult to prove. Judicial bribery, at least in this case, is not either of those. An individual lost $13.5 million dollars because of a decision that was objectively false. It is hard to argue that legislation that has been debated is objectively false. People have already been arrested by the FBI for what I am talking about. Ed Peters is in the FBI's witness protection program because of his part in it.

Corruption seems to be the norm for political affairs in this country recently. Our system needs to undergo some sort of catharsis, although it seems like the only way possible is for it to be a violent one, which isn't really a solution. Somehow we need to break the pattern of corruption leading to military coupe and then vice versa.

Very interesting! I knew that there has to be a lot of bribery in our court system, but seeing as this went all the way to congress, this looks bigger than a lot of others. I'll be sure to look out for more information on this.

Correction: Mike Moore was defending MCI "against" Balducci's plaintiff client. Apparently Moore wanted some of the money that client was trying to get from MCI, so MCI's own lawyer screwed them to get a piece of the judgment pie. The FBI will most likely be indicting them any day now.

Mike Moore, as Mississippi Attorney General, was one of the frontmen in the tobacco litigation of the 90's, as was Dickie Scruggs.

I don't think Mystic has ever gotten to anybody here more than a gnat has gotten to anybody here. I just think it would be hilarious if Mystic got completely ignored, but it was more of an amusing idea than a serious one. He's been nothing but entertainment for me, to be honest. I also usually get along with him. I still think he is a troll, as I proved.

SolSkye, you have done a lot of talking about government corruption and the evil conspiracies people in the goverment pull. It would be interesting to read your commentary on the specific government corruption this thread is about. What I am talking about is actually being proven, and it also suggests things about what might be going on in different parts of the government. It would be very puzzling if you didn't have a strong opinion on it.

Well, due to my childhood dreams and what not, I find the mysticism aspect of UFO black-budget cover-up, and tyrannical police-state enslavement of mankind scenerios more epic and alluring than some crooked judges and lawyers taking under the table bribes. That's not even a conspiracy to me...it's common knowledge.

Anyway, that paranoia and disgruntled ship has sailed for me, bro. Time to properly focus on myself and my music.

I don't think you need to mention about me not being any 'better', that is a given. One thing I sometimes forget to do, is match all observers perception up into one collective perception in order to present the best response for the percieved outcome of posters. However sometimes I happen to focus on one person alone and their perception and forget the rest. Then it has some bizaree effects on others reading the posts. When I make this mistake I realize it should have been a PM.

More has been discovered about Ed Peters' involvement in a long list of Bobby Delaughter cases, but Delaughter still has not been arrested by the FBI. I've worried that the FBI might end up getting paid off or connected or something, but the fact that arrests have already happened and that the arrests caused such a big exposure makes me think the FBI is going to go all the way with this. I think enemies and other political opportunists are going to see to it that they do. There are people in the federal government who despise this type of stuff and have dedicated their lives to fighting it, and now that those people know what is going on, it's probably too late to stop what is in motion. Too many people know about it.

Bobby Delaughter has been suspended. Jackson mayor Frank Melton is being investigated for corrupt dealings with Ed Peters. Dickie Scruggs pled guilty to one count of bribing a public official and got a five year prison sentence, so far. AND.... Senators Joe Biden and Fred Thompson, both of whom ran for president this year, are being looked into in regard to corrupt involvement with Dickie Scruggs and his legion of criminals.

These are not big news stories yet, but the word I am getting is that they will be. It looks like there are very powerful Democrates and Republicans working together, and that kind of dangerous combination can apparently do a lot to make the media shut up. The word I am getting is that this big scenario is not going to be a big news story until all of its major players are in prison. Dickie Scruggs is known by the feds as one of the most powerful non-famous people in the country, and Fred Thompson, Trent Lott, and Joe Biden are three of the most powerful people in the country period. It looks like they are doing a lot to keep things quiet. The picture is still a good bit fuzzy, so all I can really tell you now is to stay tuned. It will most likely turn into something enormous.
