Haha...you're awesome for making this thread. :D
This guy might be my hero.
I think that there is much more to Nikola Tesla than its publicly known...
just my opinion =)
Great videos. Tesla is a fascinating figure.
It's things like this that make me want to start my own schools, and educate children with the TRUTH. We are stunting our own growth as a civilization and species because we are afraid. It truly astounds me that had it not been for certain people and government control, today the entire planet could be supplied with free energy.
Edison was nothing but a coward and a thief.
mm, only the first video works now, no fair! so, then what was it he discovered that hasnt been used?
You got that straight.Quote:

Edison was nothing but a coward and a thief.
Weird, it works for me... You sure it's not your connection or country?
Anyway, tesla invented pretty much anything you can imagine and all of it was scooped up and classified by the U.S. government. Most patents haven't even seen the light of day, of those that have 700 different everyday inventions like wireless technologies, lasers, etc. are accredited to him.
Some of his stuff was so dangerous he knew mankind's consciousness wasn't ready for his works so he split it up into parts and gave it to different governments so that they would have to work together if they wanted the technology.
Quote:
Edison was nothing but a coward and a thief.
Well, atleast Edison was not cruel.Quote:
Nevertheless, Tesla displayed the occasional cruel streak; he openly expressed his disgust for overweight people, once firing a secretary because of her weight.
Edison saved a three year old boy, and your calling him a coward.Quote:
Edison became a telegraph operator after he saved three-year-old Jimmie MacKenzie from being struck by a runaway train.
Seriously, please read more about Edison as he is no thief. Tesla has made alot of crazy claims, like Einstein being a theif and stealing the idear of relativity from someone else.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_...Field_theories
What the hell? Edison was a cruel bastard. He electrocuted animals in public...dogs, even a damn elephant!! Just to try to disprove Tesla's alternated current theory. When the public was shocked and appalled and agreed with Edison, Edison then stole Tesla's alternated current (AC) and used it anyway. What a shit.
So YOU read more about Tesla before trying to support Edison. You obviously know nothing about Tesla...or Edison. Edison stole every idea of Tesla's. He was terrified of Tesla's genius and knew he would ruin him. He even attempted to sabotage his lighting up of the Chicago fair by claiming the patent on his lightbulb and not allowing Tesla to use any of his lightbulbs. So Tesla invented his own different sort of lightbulb and worked it out anyway. He was a genius and a hero. All Edison did was steal from him again and again and continually attempt to black ball him from receiving any support. Not to mention...he burned down Tesla's lab. (not proven but obvious)
Tesla had a vision to provide free energy for all. This was bad business. Where's the money in free energy? This is why he was so persecuted and discredited and no one has a clue who he is these days. It's disgusting really.
Tesla said it best: “Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”
He couldn't have been more right. A true genius before his time, unappreciated...we owe our entire modern society to Tesla. Radio, remote control, electricity, neon, etc. etc. etc. All Tesla's. And why do you think no one knows who he is? Fuck Edison. There's nothing I hate more than people stealing/copying my work. The fact that Tesla had to put up with this through his entire life is enough to drive anyone insane.
Aquanina exactly. Cheers.
Edison is no match for Tesla. It is a disaster that he is even in the history books all bolstered up like that. How fake is it? Where is Tesla. Hardly no mention compared to Edison. Makes you think, why the hell, who is writing this rubbish for our children? how? What's going on. You know. Somethings wrong with this picture?!
The only reason he is thought to be of any greatness is because he was practically in bed with the government from the beginning anyway and propaganda of the military industrial complex can do the rest, right? Like evil supports whatever is useful to evil basically... And they needed some kind of lame muppet head to overshadow the real well intentioned genius. You know the real deal. The real works. Not the fake lets electrocute the elephant and control peoples minds coward. Not the lets steal what is useful for profit making and destroy what frees people tyrant.
Then you have strange specimens like wendylove trying to put down telsa and say he made claims but never put his money where his mouth is. That's bullshit. He did more than you'll ever do and most of it is not even known because it was destroyed.
And then saying Edison did the right thing and saved a child one time did he? What the hell? That's really moving Wendy. And irrelevant. Besides, weigh that up and consider how many lives has he ruined in addition to that drop in the bucket! A few thousand million lives ruined....Including Childrens lives...Every time you pay an electricity bill that takes away your prosperity and quality of life. We can all think of Edison the so called 'Hero'. While your congratulating yourself eating the popcorn. Wait a minute.....what about this greater crime that goes unsolved. Something wrong with this.....Edison equals a maniac not a hero.....
Aquanina is right. Edison is a coward for trying to deceive the public and fighting Teslas inventions that would have made the earth an entirely different place for the better should such technology be distributed. Anyone that steals someones inventions and work has not much conscience.
I don't know if anyone has read anything here by Linda Goodman. She supposedly ended up buying this house that was thought to be where Tesla stayed. There is much more to that story than that but if you really want to know. You can read it. I think it's called Linda Goodman star signs or something. I found it interesting anyway.
Free energy? Destroying people lives?
Yes, Edison killed a few animals, however thats progress baby. Seriously, we need animal testing and electricity is a good justification for killing a few animals.
Also, what all this free energy, come on, Tesla claimed he made a machine that could cause earthquarkes.Quote:
Tesla had a vision to provide free energy for all. This was bad business. Where's the money in free energy? This is why he was so persecuted and discredited and no one has a clue who he is these days. It's disgusting really.
Tesla sucks, that why he is not mention.Quote:

Bed time Wendy.Quote:

Don't say Tesla sucks. That's a very ignorant and stupid thing to say.
I don't know how it is in America, but I think that everybody here has at least heard of Tesla before. Perhaps because he is a Serb, so he is "mentioned". Ironically I don't know much about Edison.
Yes he did make that machine, and almost made a building collapse before they stopped him. Tesla was...to say genius really doesn't even cut it.
Bonsay, every child in America grows up learning that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb. The name Tesla is never even mentioned. Not for radio, or remote control, or neon lights, or any of the other hundreds of things he invented that make our world what it is today.
I had never even heard the name Tesla before seeing the movie The Prestige. Great movie btw. It sparked my interest. And after that I wanted to learn more about Tesla...but what I discovered really made my jaw hit the floor.
However, it does seem that people are finally waking up and realizing how important this man was. (As they are now making documentaries about him on National Geographic and such)
So again...his quote was entirely true...“Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”
I think we will continue to learn more about Tesla, and eventually I think people will know his name more than Edison's. As they should.
I always liked Tesla, he struck out to me in history because he had such a small mention but appeared so profound so I researched him more and discovered more about him. He reminded me of Huey Long, he scared FDR so much FDR had to enact more radical changes in the New Deal for his second term so Long wouldn't take his votes. Long could be considered the father of social security, but my history book just bashes the fuck out of him.
That's a much smaller scale to how I felt about Tesla. History always taught me Edison pretty much ushered in the modern age. I mean, technically Benjamin Franklin was the first to harness electricity anyway so what did Edison ever really do? He made a glass bulb with a few circuits in it. Furthermore, Tesla was always alluded to as the archetype for mad scientists like Dr. Frankenstein.
But hearing about like... his ideas split up an sent to different governments made me want to go on adventure to find the lost inventions.
Also, have you guys heard the conspiracy theory the government's using cellphone towers to control people's minds?
Exactly. He's the "mad scientist" lol.
But my favorite story is the one about the Chicago World Fair.
Edison and Tesla were both bidding to win the lighting of the Chicago World Fair in 1893. Tesla won and Edison was so ticked off he wouldn't allow Tesla to buy or use ANY of his lightbulbs, so Tesla created his own lightbulb and used that to illuminate the world fair. I just think that is like, the ultimate hero story haha.
The life story of Tesla is very interesting indeed, I read his autobiography, which stresses lucid dreaming as the best way of invention. But it makes you question howcome, if the technology is still available, nobody reproduces it? These are concepts he came up with 100 years ago, isn't about time someone put some work in it? Seems like the human race suddenly got too lazy to put some time into invention? It's easy to blame Edison or blame ignorance but it seems much like right at this moment, even with the knowledge available, nobody will even try to work out his theories.
Anyway, the most interesting thing about Tesla imo was his ability to create inventions to perfection in his lucid dreams.
I think that any further work being done based on Tesla's ideas and inventions is not known to the public. As the videos hinted, they believe that some countries have already made Tesla's "death ray" and other's have the capability to. Who can possibly know what the US government is working on right now.
I AM ASHAMED! I admit I had no earthly idea who tesla was until about a week ago when I mentioned UFOs to my mom. Then my mom was like "TESLA WAS VISITED BY ALIENS!!" and im like "whooooo???" then she told me about his greeaaatness
Tesla was a genius to bad he was a serb.
Yeah fucking serbs
Tesla was a human!
Why can't people be proud of their kind instead of hating "towel heads" (don't want to use worse names I've heard). It's ok to be a bit patriotic, but this really is retarded in the most basic sense of the word. Evolve a bit, will you?
Sorry for rant and hijacking the thread.
lookup HAARP. it is based on his ideas. sattelites that can cause catastrophies.
He knew that some of his inventions weren't ready for the world and kept them under wraps (but of course after he died they raided and confiscated everything of his) because the government didn't want to use them for energy but for defense and war and such. He didn't intend for it to be used that way...but that was the way the government was planning on taking it. Big surprise. If you watch those videos it talks about that a bit.
Damn man... intolerant much? Who cares what nationality he was? First, he was an earthling... Second, he was a humanitarian whose inventions touched and changed all of mankind for generations to come.
You'd better check that blind ignorance as it seems to have your mind closed in a box of limited thinking.
Oh, and Nina I saw The Prestige today... quite an excellent film... I wasn't expecting that ending and Tesla to be so integral...
Yeah, Tesla is awesome, I learned about him quite a while ago. Its too bad there are so many scams and conspiracy theories on the web defaming his name. He was brilliant. He was a visionary, a modern day Da Vinci. Supposedly the government took his papers shortly after he died. The FBI file of Nikolai Tesla is floating around the internet too.
Lol, seriously, who do you think is in the government? Just people like you and me who are too lazy also. It's not until all the oil is depleted, and when we are forced to find a new fuel, that we will look into free energy.
I first heard about Tesla in this game C&C, where you can build Tesla Coils to electrocute enemy troops, they were pretty awesome  later I saw the movie the prestige which resulted in me looking him up on the net. And it's Teslas autobiography that motivated me into lucid dreaming again. I knew lucid dreaming was great fun, but it was until I read his autobiography I realized lucid dreaming is much more than that, its the best tool to learn anything. Anyway, Tesla was a real eye opener for me. Atleast now I know I'm not the only one on this world who thinks evolution of the entire human race is the primary purpose of my existance. Too bad not everyone thinks like this.
are so sure about that?
you really think no one is making any effort to look into free energy because everyone is that lazy and pathetic? o.O
we have already looked into free energy. it is rumored the government has free energy, waiting to be implemented as tools. its not that nobody is working on it, of course they are!!!
its that the oil company is so powerful, they will never allow free energy on the market unless they get a deal in it. the problem is, free energy will never yield the massive profits like oil - there is no deal to get into it. its profits are virtually zero compared to oil.
every decade we hear a story about a great person who made this great technology. All the way back to tesla. what happened to these people and why didn't any of them make great products? like cars that float, or run on water? as far back as the 80s? a lot of these great minds worked alone or had limited funding. they did not have the funding to implement any of their ideas on a grand scale that we the public would get to enjoy.
what happened? they were bought out
someone came to them say "ill give you this very large sum of money and your technology will be produced at large" it sounded like a good situation, and maybe they even anticipated that their new product would be out on the market soon for the world to enjoy. did anything happen? no, we know nothing happened right?
what happened was a large number of these amazing patents from various great minds throughout the decades were bought by oil and other world dominating companies. they then tuck these patents away in the closet. having given up their patents, the scientist can't do squat except start from scratch a whole new design. they're not magicians, that single patent might have been their life work. its not easy to come up with an entirely new idea that doesn't infringe on the original patent
any baby boomer can tell you all the happy promises they were told regarding future technology that never happened. its not that we were stupid and can't have this technology. its not that we were lazy and no one wanted to build this technology - you can't ignore BIG MONEY.
you need to understand that with free energy, the oil industry would FALL on its knees. it would lose its world dominating power - its MONEY. the economy won't crash. not at all. the economy will always move forward.
as for your understanding of the government. the united states government has many secret departments that have always been working on advanced technologies. they started out from my understanding as a result of the cold war, thus, having perceived that Russian spies would be in the US. these are not departments you can come knocking to. they find you. you don't find them. don't be so quick to assume that the government is lazy. when it comes to social issues, yes, but thats really our domain.
ps. the big money behind silencing these scientists is dead serious. seriously, there is evidence they have murdered great minds. I dont have any proof of this, just memories from my youth about hearing about so and so, their great discovery, and how they died mysteriously shortly after. its happened in the past, it'll happen again. big money will silence an amazing mind if he or she is a threat.
im not saying the government is our enemy. on the contrary, right now she's pretty pathetic, and relies on the money of big industry. and has thus subjected its governing to the wills of big industry in many occasions rather than the will of the people.

I can has free energy?
You are energy.
ah ha! they work for me now. This guy is amazing, how the heck did he get pushed back out of the limelight? This makes me proud to be studying electrical engineering!
Most of the outlandish stuff you hear about Tesla comes from bad biographers who got most of their information from show bills about his acts. In his time, Inventors were presented as magicians, and so thats what they made them sound like. In reality, Tesla was a brilliant man who did a lot of amazing things, and to me the really amazing but false things you hear about him undermine his true accomplishments.
I'm not sure why people claim that 'most of his patents never saw the light of day' and that they were stolen by the government. His papers were taken from the hotel that he lived in partly because with no family in this country, there was no one to collect them. As for his patents, I have his book that he wrote (the fantastic inventions of Nikola Tesla; modest, no?) and it is largely a collection of all of his patents.
What may be confusing you is the fact that he didn't actually patent many of his inventions, since he saw them as toys for his own enjoyment, such as fluourecent lights, the discovery of plasma, the predessesor of the electron microscope (carbon button lamp), etc. etc.
Most people latch on to some of his more outlandish ideas and tout them as having been repressed by the government or other shady illuminati-esque shadow men, but in reality they just aren't practical or feasible. Unlike what is portrayed in the prestige, you can't really just charge the ground with electricity. Tesla also described a train that would encircle the globe and would be supported by its own counter acting gravitational pull, but who would really build such a thing? Sure it would be essentially frictionless but who cares, its unwieldy as all hell.
Aquanina it must be another supernatural conspiracy. Even if there is photographs of it.
Good to see Xaqaria has things well in hand here :)
Don't believe everything you read. There are a lot of conspiracy theories out there. They may be fun, but take them all with a grain of salt.
That said, can you recommend a good book or two on Tesla? I know you've been reading about him a lot, Nina. I researched him heavily a few years back, but came to the same conclusion as Xaqaria. If I'm missing something, (and it sounds like I am) please let me know. I love this stuff.
Yeah but the conspiracy theories about Tesla are all mostly that he was less intelligent and achieved. When he was actually more intelligent and more achieved than the conspiracy theories credit him. So what is known cannot be eliminated no matter what conspiracy theories you may read that are floating around about him. We can point to inventions that he did develop and inventions that were destroyed. And that is part of history and telsas life.Quote:
Don't believe everything you read. There are a lot of conspiracy theories out there.
I agree that he was a lot more brilliant than the history books give him credit for. I always thought most of his inventions were theoretical, or just used in his stage shows as toys and magic acts.
Sort of like Da Vinci. He sketched the helicopter in 1500. By the 1800s, there were toy helicopters that could fly based on the principles of helicopter flight. Today, the US army uses helicopters. This does not mean that Lockheed-Martin ever had any reason to erase Da Vinci from the history books to hide military secrets. Thats just not the way the world works.
It did kind of work that way. His inventions were real, and their potential was real, but the only way to make money from them was with parlor tricks because human beings weren't willing to accept such ideas. I'm sure da vinci could have built a helicopter if he carried with him that personality trait nikola tesla had that allowed him to see his ideas so vividly.
