I was just wondering what your opinion of people with dreadlocks are...
in my neighborhood there is quite a high concentration of natty dreaded people and the cops always tend to profile them and whatnot.
Also I know a few people who automatically look down on dreaded people, especially white people with dreads.

I think dreads is beautiful. I'm actually growing my hair out to get dreadlocks. Though I don't want super long dreads, only shoulder length. Are you contemplating getting dreads Elis?
That I am, although the outcome of this thread won't have anything to do with my decision... I'm just curious as to people's answers.
Hey I'm putting dreads in right now. I've got 20-30 in right now, but they're all small right now. I'm doing it naturally though, so it will probubly be at least 3 months before they start to look like dreads.
Depends on if it suits the person. I view it just as another hairstyle.
Dreads are fine, if you keep them a bit clean and nice. Hairy-diarrhea on heads isn't pretty.

Personally, I don't like them. I like long, soft, straight to slightly wavy hair. But I won't judge people negatively for having them, as long as they keep them clean anyways....

^^^ I'm really shocked that you guys think they only look good on a certain race of people or a certain gender. That's really weird to me. It's just another hairstyle. I know lots of white males that pull them off just fine.

Come now, that's based on stereotypes. Dreads are just a common style in Jamaica, not for them. They're not inherited with them or anything. White people in dreadlocks don't look right? natural ones are cool.. but you can have synth ones that look natural but you get to take them out and clean your head and have crazy colours.

I really don't care if half the world wore dreads. I would never wear that hairstyle, but some people like it, so who cares?? And people who look down on dreaded people are stupid. They shouldn't judge them by their appearance, but by their actions. Someone might look awful on the outside, but might be amazing on the inside.Quote:
