Seriously. I'd like to see him in office. I knwo it really can't happen. But it would be nice. I hate a two party system...
I certainly don't agree with his more extreme platforms, but we all know that those are fairly inconsequential as we all know that he won't be able to 'get rid of the IRS' anyway.
The reason I'd like to see him as POTUS is because of all the candidates I really do see him fighting for states rights, scaling back of federalistic power, and not playing Big Brother.
Although de-regualtion and such is supposed to be supported by Republicans, such things have not been practices near to the degree that they should be by those conservatives. And the democrats in office openley support encroaching regulation.
Nixon, for example, took us off the gold standard partly so that the government could allegedley have more direct control of the cash influx. The Bush administration has taken it upon itself to trample all over state soveriengtey and make sure that they know as much about individual citizens as they can. Under Clinton, over-regulation of companies and corporations has played a large role in our economic fallouts of late.
We need someone that most people would find a little radical on the issues of federalistic power, de-regulation, and state rights. With someone pushing for perhaps too much on an issue, he may make some headway in the right direction as opposed to wishy-washiness on the republican side and outright opposition form the democrats.
I trust that Barr would try as hard as he can to get those things done when
hardly anyone else will.
BOB BARR!!!
