There are far too many straight and bi people on this planet for us to ever have to worry about the extinction of humanity due to homosexuality.
Not to mention the fact that sex is no longer a necessity to procreation.

You're joking right? Just checking.
You know guys, it would be nice if someone could reference a single study. I would really appreciate it. I mean, obviously if nobody's looked into it then I can't get anything... just hoping to get the thread back on track.
How old are you? Tough to not know if you're gay or not. Are you attracted to men? You're gay/bi :P You're on DV... yeah, you're probably day/bi. Yeah, there are a lot of us here :D
Well, instead of swashbuckling, why not hear what an actual gay person has to say?Quote:
A penis is made for a vagina, not for another penis and vice versa for a vagina. I don't get how people can be gay, no logic in it at all.
I was never molested and I didn't just pop out of the closet and say "You know what, I'm sick of girls." or "I'm a hedonist!"
If you've taken particular science classes or if you have done personal research in the subject, you can find that the primary emphasis for physical attraction inside species and their genders is hormones. I was never naturally attracted to females, ever. I never understood why and I always wondered why guys would always look at girls bodies in such a way. I considered them pigs. In my private life, though, from the early ages of 13 and on my hormones kicked in and, well, what do you know- boobs were not the thing I was looking at.
Although, there are individuals who are psychologically impacted through forced sex of the same gender. And then there are those who just want to do it for pleasure even though they are in no way attracted to the same gender.
As previously stated, this is something measured across hundreds of species. An individual, such as yourself, finds homosexuality to be repulsive because you can not conceive of having the same attraction. You're only aware of the natural attraction from what you have and what you've experienced through your physiological characteristics. Not everyone is born the same in this world. As such, your physical needs and wants, possibly wrapped with the societal standards of marriage and relationships, has warped your paradigm into what it is. Alternate orientations are outside of your box of understanding, and as such, will have no form of logic in your eyes until you recognize that logic has everything to do with it - on a physical level.
I hope that may clear some things up. =)
That's not how I understood his comment at all.
This isn't saying that it's repulsive. What he said there is completely true.Quote:
I don't get how people can be gay, no logic in it at all.
He's not gay himself, I presume, so therefore he doesn't get how other people can be gay. Do you "get" how other people can be attracted to trees, dogs or other things that you absolutely don't find attractive? I know I don't get it.
No logic in it at all. That's true aswell. Why would there be any logic? It's not like our brains sits down on birth and has a discussion with itself about what would be the most logical sexuality. There is no logic in it. If we assume it's genetic, then it used to be a mutation. It just happened to be useful in some cases, and that's why it survived. There's no "logic" involved at all.
I don't get how people can be gay either, that's why I find it really interesting to talk to people who are.
That could be no different than saying how an individual with a different orientation finds a straight couple to be completely illogical. Perhaps even if they've lived a sheltered life or not. They may not be able to conceive of any logic behind it because they only understand what attraction they have for the same gender.Quote:

There is logic behind everything in regards to the fundamental structures of our reality all the way to the characteristics of a being's physiology. There are more factors at play than just mutations. There are so many variables that justify where one organism could go, that a single molecule or a single thought can create a moment of beauty or catastrophe. There could be subconscious initiation from when the individual was young, whether it be with inanimate or animate objects as obsessions, the parents or other individuals could have molested the child - whether it be with themselves or other organisms/objects, or it simply comes down to a genetic level of attraction. There's some people out there who aren't attracted to humans at all and are attracted to material things, even sexually. There IS logic in it, it's just that you aren't willing to find logic in it because it's outside of your paradigm.Quote:

I am 17 and I love younger boys. But fortunately, I was able to ramp up my age of attraction with boyish gay pornography (THANK GOD). I still find women attractive, butts, thighs... but in the end I still want another dude's dick in my mouth. I am a bisexual I guess but I still don't know what sex to go for... at the moment I keep thinking about guys. I am also pretty sure I am ready for a sexual encounter as well, but I haven't even had a relationship yet.
The reason I posted this thread is because I want to know if there has been a secular inquiry into whether or not homosexuality can be 'cured'. Not to say that I would... in fact, I think that homosexuality is a vaccine for the world. It's just that if scientists were toning these 'miracle' results down for whatever political reason it would class as intellectual dishonesty.
I'm bisexual as well. Love the tits, love the dicks. The sooner you get the fuck over who you're attracted to and just enjoy the fantasies, the better.
Idolfan, why are you so concerned about a "cure"? Your sexual orientation doesn't harm anyone, so there's nothing to be ashamed or worried about.
Ever since puberty I've always been a little confused as to whether or not I'm straight or bisexual, but I figure it doesn't matter and I shouldn't hurry to label myself. Whatever feels right when the time comes, feels right. The end.
you make homosexuality sound like a disease saying cure lol
does being gay make you happy? if it does why avoid somethinthat makes you happy. your true self wants you to be happy
if you really dont want to be gay then change your thoughts. don' think about it. changing your thoughts is the cure to a lot of things like depression and early stages of drug addiction and alcohlism.
the more you think about something with an emotional attachment, the more it is burned into your subconcious
you could can reprogram your subconsious through affirmations, subliminal messages, and/or subliminal images
sorry my grammar is so bad im typing this on a ps3 controller lol
There's another thing that's just come to my mind:
If more men are gay than women are lesbian (which seems to be the case), then doesn't that mean that there are less men to go around for straight women? Could that become a problem?
But you can't force gay men to be straight and we can't force straight women to become lesbian, so we're left with a social dilemma.
I can't find anything on the internet which deals with this because as soon as you type something like "gay less men for women" into Google it just starts churning up completely irrelevant results.
^^ I think you just answered your own question. Which was kind of irrelevant in the first place. You're talking 6 billion+ people on the earth, it will never be as cut and dry as 3 billion pairs. There doesn't need to be a gay and lesbian scale that has to be balanced because gender numbers in the world aren't balanced either. As humans we really weren't meant to marry and become tied to one other person. As other animals it is an instinct to reproduce. Men of many years passed have had multiple babies with multiple women.
Kind of a funny social dilemma don't you think?
You're really asking yourself which one is being dishonest? I thought it was obvious that Christians who report cures for homosexuality use dogma, hate and fear over logic and reason. No real scientist has ever reported a cure for homosexuality, and it has been disproven as a disease or a mental illness.
I believe that if someone really wants to change his or her sexual orientation it can be done. But it is not a disease, or require any "treatment".
Hm. So according you, LucidFlanders, the reason homosexuality is illogical is because penises and vaginas are made to procreate? And you also state that people shouldn't have more than one child. So, should people just be celibate after they get married and have one baby?
