Well, for some background, I've read a book called Lucid Dreaming: Gateway To The Inner Self by Robert Waggoner. I reccomend everyone wanting to get deeper with their lucid dreams read it. It talks about the 5 levels of lucid dreaming, the first simply being control, and the fifth being in complete oneness with yourself. Secondly, I don't believe the world will end in 2012. Neither am I convinced anything will happen, but I think that if anything does happen, it will be a change in conciousness for humans on earth, not death. And if everyone on earth started having lucid dreams at will, connected or not, we as humans will have a brand new frontier to explore where we can't destroy like we can on earth. This idea is a lot like the singularity idea, without the machines.
I named this post "trippy 2012 thought" for a reason lol. Just an idea to consider, not really take seriously

I don't really believe in the 2012 at all. Saw a documentary about it some time ago. They said that the reason the mayas stopped the calender might as well be because they felt no need to continue making the calender until so far in the future.
But then again, we can never know before 2012 : D
Is the world supposed to end at the beginning of 2012 or the end? Or a random spot in the middle?
That... would actually be the best end of the world I can imagine. Everyone's dreams become real.
Oh wait.
Maybe in 2012, we will all become lucid in our real lives . Or wake up and realize this was all just a dream.
Everyone will LD? Random much? :/ If say that enormous amounts of triple chocolate cake will fall from the sky on 2012, do I get some credibility? :o
In my opinion the 2012 thing is stupid... I mean, hasn't anyone thought realistically? Maybe the guy who was drawing it got tired and went to bed? Maybe nothing else fit on it? Maybe he didn't think anyone would last that long (do we ever count infinitely when predicting horoscopes? No.)? Maybe his mom called him to dinner? I really see no reason that 2012 should be anything special.
I really hope something happens in 2012, although my intuition tells me it's superstitious bullshit.
Maybe Yellowstone in Wyoming will erupt and cover 1/2 of America in burning hot pyroclastic debris. That would be kinda cool...
I don't know about anyone else, but bad news is my favourite news.
Isn't this kind of what many lecturers on mayans, who studied that calendar
and believe in a change in 2012, say? Something along the line of realizing
ones true nature - which in the mayan context would indeed mean something
like 'waking from the dream that is reality'? And 'waking from materialism'
aka the material world?
The entire 'the world will end' thing in my opinion is nothing more than pop
culture and a pretty clever viral marketing strategy. Basically just advertisement.
I find 2012 pretty interesting though. Even though the evidence that there
is something going to happen is rather slim - and I personally don't believe
it, it is still fun to ponder the, sometimes rather complexe, theories on it.
Especially considering that things on many aspects seem to be speeding up.
So where will all this eventually end? That's the interesting question, imo.
Luckily we'll see soon enough. :)
It's probably true. It's basically an endless chain haha. Even if we wake up and we are lucid in our "real" life. That just brings on a BIGGER question. Is the life we are now lucid in even real? Or is it just like the last one? :panic:
Hah, why even think about it? We will probably never know. Not in this lifetime anyway.
Maybe after December 21st 2012 people will wake up and stop believing in supersticious bullshit, and concentrate on the world without a dressing of fantasy, and appreciate the beauty of the universe for what it is. Maybe they'll understand their fellow human being and see more reason to walk outside and find some genuine human connection than sit on the internet and think of bullshit conspiracy theories in a desperate ploy to make what they see as a boring world interesting.
But probably not.
Hahahah you know it won't be long after when another inevitable doomsday date surfaces and draws people in. Its the human condition.
Seriously though, either something happens or it doesn't. Nobody has any definitive way of knowing what's gonna happen, so why all the debate? Focus on 2010 for now, 2012 will get here when it gets here.
