this girl needs help. she was 20 weeks pregnant and it was a stillborn. so, she dresses it up, takes a picture, and, get this...she makes it it's own face book page. (and like, 6 R.I.P. groups?)

Alright... See, I understand that they're child was a stillborn, and yes, that is devestatingly upsetting and my thoughts go out to this woman and her family, but really... There's a line between grieving and just being completely insane.
You cannot dress up a dead foetus like a doll.
You cannot then go and make a Facebook page in memory of this foetus.
You can't then expect people not to react to this, I mean obviously there has to be some controversy regarding pictures of a dead stillborn child in babies clothing...

I do not agree that this is age appropriate in any way, I was almost sick. It was absolutely disturbing.

I agree Nerve was a little harsh, but this could go on for a long time if someone doesn't shock her out of it. She has clearly lost it and is beyond the point where she can realize herself that this isn't normal. Maybe what he said caused her pain, but that's inevitable, she will have to deal with a lot of pain when she finally comes out of denial.

Why does she have to cope 'normally'? Why should someone have to grieve and then also compose themselves and try to act in a socially acceptable way?

When something bad happens, people want to tell as many people as they can, as quickly as possible.
That's why you get people calling saying "My dad just died" or something similar.
Social networking sites are just the modern way to do this.

I think the whole concept of telling everyone is stupid in itself, I don't feel like I need to tell anyone when something bad happens.

So you think its disturbing and creepy? I've always assumed you were a really open minded person from some of your posts, perhaps not. Why is it creepy for her to dress this baby up and take a quick photo before having it buried? Because you say it is, and you don't want to see it? I'm not saying she should have to come "normally", there is no "normal" coping. This isn't about greiving in the background but composing yourself and putting on a mask and going out into society and acting as if nothing's wrong. That is very old-fashioned and backwards. I was just pointing out what I saw, and where she will have to go fro here. Taking pictures of the dead fetus and posting them online, then talking to it as if it were still alive is denial, severe denial, spurred on by the mental shock of what happened. Her mind still can't even wrap itslef around the fact that her baby was a stillborn. Different people deal with that differently. Eventually, with time, she will realize that her baby's gone and there's nothing she can do about it. And eventually, she will come to accept that. In the meantime, she needs any support those closest to her can offer, which, don't get me wrong, I'm sure she's getting.

To be honest mate I can't see any humour in it. Sometimes I find myself laughing at jokes i probably shouldn't; when someone tells a joke that is probably over the line. But I can't find this funny because this isn't a joke, we can see her Facebook page and in reading it and seeing her face it makes it real to me. To me there's nothing funny about this, and even if there was i wouldn't be able to find it funny. If it was on TV in some drama, yeah it might be funny, but this is real. Imagine driving past a horrific car accident and there's a dead body on the road and there's a big dick drawn on the guys forehead, maybe on TV that's funny but i doubt you first reaction would be to laugh. The feelings of sadness that accompany the suffering of fellow people is a really strong overriding emotion for me when I can see it firsthand. Don't you experience this?

I think I am very desensitized. I've been the first at the scene of a major car accident. More recently, a Taliban IED blew up a car with a mother and her 3 kids. We had to pick up the pieces man. Idk, this just doesn't seem all that fucked up to me. But yes, I do feel the emotion you are referring to. Maybe just not as often.
