I believe lucid dreaming exists logically, this thread is limited to logic I do not want any religious or spiritual discussion here else I will lock the thread.

The purpose of this topic is to question and dicuss the possibility of dream characters and the yourself thinking different thoughs at the same time saying different things at the same time. Or even if that's possible. The brain is indeed a very complex machine and I'd think with limbs and muscles turned off the brain would have extra free thinking power to simulate multiple people thining multiple things within a dream. Why is this topic important well. Immersion as well as furthering the purpose and understanding the purpose of lucid dreaming and it's limitations. For example one is dreaming and asks a dream character what he thinks about something. Would you have to now think up a line for him to say before he says it. Is there lag? between conversations. I'd imagine the brain might have some difficulty having two separate talking entities saying two different things at the same time. This topic isn't about socializing as I am not good at it. However this topic does yield massive amounts of very serious questions.

Funny, that you should threaten to immediately lock the thread if any "spiritual or religious discussion" occurs.
For a few reasons:
1) You cannot, in any way, lock the thread. Only a moderator or admin can.
2) People on this forum tend not to comment irrelevant or otherwise 'wrong subforum' stuff, especially when the topic has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Also, to actually add something, it is physically impossible for a brain to process two things at once. Apply that, and you have an answer

Not really. There's been a lot of studies on how bad our brains are at multitasking, yeah, but I'm not sure that applies here. Our brain handles multiple autonomic tasks like breathing while we're consciously focusing on something else; similarly, creating a dream world and dream characters who move and speak doesn't require our conscious focus.

But I'm not certain I'm understanding the original question correctly. From the title, "at the same time," I thought you meant two characters saying two different things simultaneously - good question. But from your post, it sounds like you're just asking if it's possible to ask a DC a question and get an answer -

In which case, yes. That's possible. If you don't usually dream about conversations yourself, check the dream journal section of this site, you'll find plenty of examples - last month had a Task of the Month that involved asking DCs about the meaning of life, people got some unusual answers. There's no lag - whatever part of your brain creates the dream setting and controls the dream characters when you're non-lucid seems to be capable of handling it all seemingly instantaneously, talking is no different.

The conscious mind is linear - it only handles one task at a time, but the unconscious (subconscious, whatever you call it) is non-linear, it handles many things simultaneously. Lucid dreaming seems to be a fragment of consciousness moving through a dream world created by the unconscious, so they're able to interact to some extent.
