Source of Nightmares
My drink of choice is Vodka. Sometimes with just water.. other times with grapefruit juice.. Vodka can improve just about any drink. I was on Atkins for a long time so i look for mixers that don't contain sugar or calories.. water, lemon juice or those Mio type flavorings. A while back i started using Sparkling Ice brand water. Its a pop which i didn't really like, but the taste was good. My girlfriend would tell me that i would be thrashing around and screaming in my sleep. Sometimes she would get so worried that she would try and console me. I would wake up knowing it was a bad dream, but wouldn't remember it.
I started getting stomach aches and stopped drinking for a while.. the nightmares went away. Then a couple weeks later, i had a couple drinks with water and lemon.. everything was fine. Once i started mixing the drinks with the Sparkling Ice, the nightmares started again. I tested my theory a few times and it was almost 100% accurate. It has to be something in the ingredients causing it, but i have no idea what it would be.. These are not your everyday nightmares either, they are enough to cause my girlfriend to become concerned. I am not that heavy of sleeper, so i an surprised that the scream, thrashing around and even crying hasnt woken me up..

My guess is that the stomach-aches are caused by the carbonated water. I imagine the carbonated water would fizzle in the stomach, releasing gas which causes the stomach to expand which increases the tension of the stomach lining enough to cause pain.
Vitamin B6 has been known to cause vivid dreams.
