Eyes Forced Open
Hey there, I have been practicing LDing for about 4 years now. I used to be able to do it almost any night I wished to, but then for the past year and a half I stopped completely. This summer I have started practicing again. I am having a slight problem though.
Now, when I am attemtping a WILD, right when my sleep paralysis begins (I always know because it is marked by a loud buzzing sound and a feeling of vibration for me) I feel my eyes being forced open. Not wide or completely open, but enough to catch a glimpse of my ceiling (if I am lying on my back) or my night table (if I am lying on my side) to the point that I wake up. This makes it very difficult to LD since I cannot successfully WILD if I cannot stay asleep for more than a few moments.
Has anyone else had this problem? I did a quick search online to no avail.
Thanks in advance,
James

It might be gravity, with the angle you're sleeping at. I get it too, just enough to pull a little bit of the eyelid back. Try sleeping with your head more supported.

Why you don't try to use something like this:

A simple sleeping mask.

Are your eyes twitching open, like an involuntary muscle spasm? Or just falling open because you can't keep them closed any more?

They are twitching open, it is completely involuntary.

I found another thread here about the same issue.

Eliminating all the external light worked. I have WILDed the previous 2 nights and entered SP flawlessly.
