almost all of my lucid dream happened in my room. I woke up and reallized I was dreaming or I was dreaming and reallized I was dreaming then I woke up in my room, still dreaming.
Can anyone explain this?
I never go into a fancy place in a LD. Can you give me and advice that help me go into one? thankyou.
Ah, you don't "show up" on them, right? Well, its quite simple, just teleport from your room to the place you want!
To expand on walms post. If you dont know how to teleport it can be quite easy Close your eyes and visualize the place you want to be at. Say it out loud too it helps. Try to smell and hear the location and then open your eyes and you should find yourself there

oh, another question, Does any one try this method?: look at a picture in the wall and try to penetrate into the picture like I saw on some films. Is it possible in a LD?
Summon a door, eg. turn around and expect a normal door to be there. Then imagine whatever you want to be on the other side. It helps to visualize in real life before you actually do it in a dream. :)
Waternight's got the right idea, but closing your eyes is a surefire way of ending the dream. I wouldn't recommend it.
It's definitely possible; you can also look in a mirror and see an image on the other side, then try going through it. Make sure the picture or mirror is big enough, though. I've done this a few times and ended up summoning mirrors barely two or three feet across; I had to crawl through! That ruined the effect. :PQuote:

Hmm this might be easy for you... Or might not be idk..... You FA into your room and you want to go somewhere. Look at your closet have you seen monsters inc? well think of that. Trust that if you go into your closet you will be sent to monstropolis in the area with a ton of doors. Now just pick a door and see what it gets you because it will probably be very random.
Ive never tried this so I dont know if it will work but you can try it if you ever get the chance
Well, many things have already been said, but here's my go at it:
1.) NEVER close your eyes if you're new to LDing. This will end your dream a lot of the time if you're not used to it yet.
2.) In order to travel somewhere or go somewhere, the door technique is pretty good. Either find or summon a door and approach it. Before opening it, you have to believe where it will take you. Don't think, "I want to go to Iceland." Instead, try saying something like, "I know this door leads to Iceland." That way, instead of suggesting where you want to go, you force the door to take you where you want to go.
3.) For help with summoning a door, just turn around and try the belief thing again. When you're about to face back, forget about what used to be there and picture a specific door right there. Constantly keep that picture in your mind while turning, and hopefully you just made a door. If this doesn't work, you could try doing what I've been doing and just making a door. Sometimes the summoning didn't work for me, so I tried another forceful technique. Just try grabbing into the wall and molding it apart into a hole, imagining where you want to go on the other side.
Again, hopefully these posts helped, but all in all, everyone has different methods and techniques that work for them. Sorry to say, but there's no universal way of doing anything in a dream. After all, it is YOUR dream and YOURS alone. :D
You can also spin, but you might lose lucidity :pissed:

For me, teleporting only works if I know where I want to do. I can't just let my dream come up with something. It generally won't. So visualize something and see if happening with your mind's eye before you do it (like if you choose to use your closet as a portal, see it working, then do it).
I am going to agree with LucidInvader.... spinning always sends me somewhere else. Somewhere random, though...

You need to suspend belief. Understandably, opening your room door to a beach is irrational. You know what should be behind the door, and this knowledge is precluding the appearance of a beach scene. I recommend not going through a door that already exists in real life. Everything that is real has connotations, such as knowledge of where a particular door leads. You must create one.
Practice this in real life first. Look at a blank wall in your room, and focus on visualising an unusual door axis-by-axis (draw it with your mind, focus on its structure and function). As you're building the door, simultaneously associate a place where this door leads to. When you're wholeheartedly convinced that such a door really exists in your room, then in your mundane 'My Room' dream, this will materialise. Just walk through it.
You only need one door because anywhere else you wish to travel once in the beach scene will not be restricted by any preconceived notion of 'should be'. The beach is fictional, and so there are no hard-wired associations with any further door/cave/hole you decide to go through.
PS. Personally, I have created a door that leads to a room of 6 doors. Each door is loosely associated with a conceptual space for me.

I think pretty much all the "conventional" tricks I've heard of have already been mentioned.
Here's a few more uncommon ones that have worked for me:
- If you've seen the movie "Jumper", try what they did. Imagine the place you want to go and "jump" there.
This can work for other sci-fi / fantasy movie things as well, just try to go with a way of teleporting from a movie you liked.
- Ask a DC to teleport you to the place you want to go.
- If you have trouble with doors, summon an elevator instead, I have an easier time with this then doors.
For me, doors sometimes just lead to places that "make sense" to be behind the door.
The easiest way for me is to just fly very fast, to the point where the vision becomes slightly blurry and then search for the place I wanted to go.
I usually find it within seconds.

I normally just keep in mind the place I want to visit. I then explore the dream world, expecting to eventually find my desired location. I just let the dream handle the details of how to actually get there. It makes for some interesting and unexpected transitions.
I sometimes do that in my LDs, just explore the dream world. but unfortunately, my dream period only lasted for about 10 minutes => I couldn't explore much. Therefore, I want a means of transport to go directly to the place I want. May be the next time I will try the elevator, the car or even fast flying as a mean of transport.Quote:

when I was in a LD before, I tried spinning. However, It only made me feel dizzy and thrown me to my bedroom.
I've only had one LD so far, but i had to travel to get somewhere interesting. I became lucid outside my house and decided to fly anywhere I wanted to go. I figured it would be a lot easier for me than teleporting or something, as I'm already quite experienced with dream flight. So you have a lucid dream where you are in your house and you want to be in a different location. Everytime you open a door, turn a corner or walk down a set of stairs the only thing that causes you to still be in your home/neighborhood is your expectation. So they key is to trick yourself into expecting a different location.
The easiest way I have found of doing this is to go underground. Walk into your basement and look for a staircase leading you below ground. Walk down the stairs, and you will find yourself in a tunnel of some sort. Then look for another staircase going back up. Just as you get to the top of the staircase you will find a door. Before you open this door expect, believe and envision whatever type of landscape you wish to be on the other side. When you open the door it will be there.
You see you could do this already when you open the front door of your house, but the expectation is so strong that it will be your driveway and your front yard that it can be difficult to generate a new scene. By going underground, you have disassociated yourself from your own home, so that when you go back up you have a blank slate. Who knows what is behind that door which leads above ground? Therefore, it is up to you to decide what type of scene will be there upon opening the door.
If you get creative, you can view some very spectacular scenery.
In my first lucid I sunk through the ground and found myself free falling toward the earth. I then zero'd in on a building and crashed through the roof. I think I'm going to use this as my prefered method.

I have had success with this method. I was able to transport myself by spinning in a lucid dream, but when I arrived I was no longer lucid. However, when I sunk through the floor to my destination, I arrived in the desired dream remaining lucid.Quote:

One thing I have had a great deal of success with is incubation. I just tell myself as I'm falling asleep what or where to dream about.
