Last night I had a LD DILD style and once I realized I was dreaming I tied to do my recent goal of finding a car and just driving super fast. This was my second time attempting this and both times I got into the car my dream collapsed. Frustrated to say the least lol. So lately when Im fortunate enough to DILD my LD's have been shorter in the last few months... any suggestions or explanations?
You should try stabilizing in the dream once you become lucid. You can do this by rubbing your hands together and paying attention to the friction and the heat as you do it, or you can draw your attention to one of your other senses; for example, listening to the sounds around you or noticing the smells you can smell near you. Also, when you get in the car, expect the dream to stay stable and have confidence that what you expect to happen, will happen.

Spinning too fast often only works to further destabilize the dream, because you can't focus on any of your surroundings well enough. In other words, treating the new location (in a sense) like a brand new lucid dream can really help. If you were in a convertible, you should still have an awareness of what's around you. Take your time and stabilize yourself with in the dream, there is no rush, Try to remember how u feel when your not lucid because when your not lucid the dream can go on forever. example: "Oh Im still awake (dreaming) okay no big deal the next car i see i'll just hop in it and take it for a spin" namaste.
