What is your best and/or favorite Techniques for attaining Lucidity?
6 out of 7 of my lucids have been WBTB, let yourself wake up naturally from sleep and then fall back asleep while saying some mantras and keeping your mind in the void. Works almost every time I try it :)
-Meditate in the morning and before going to bed
-Perform reality checks throughout the day (making sure to actually question my state of reality instead of just plugging my nose habitually)
-try to be as aware as possible throughout the day
-Visualize myself becoming lucid in a dream before bed
-repeating a mantra while falling asleep (part of MILD)
-wake up in the middle of the night, remember any dreams, and do more visualization and mantras as returning to bed (WBTB)
If I can do all of this effectively I can almost always have a lucid dream. The only problem is that doing all of that stuff well every day is quite difficult for me so I end up cutting stuff out and not having as many LDs. The mindset can also be difficult to grasp, and without that confidence in my ability LD's become much less likely.
Ok well i think it's time I gave WBTB a chance. I think it is to soon to keep attempting wilds. I believe I will also give MILD a chance.
my first lucid dream was a WILD i did it by accident but know i just WBTB and MILD together:banana:
All my lucids have been wbtb. namaste
all of them have been DILDs from just randomly realizing I was dreaming (probably from awareness)
Any good tutorials(links) for WBTB techniques? It seems to be the most successful method so far.
I typically do the DILD technique, though way back in the day I didn't know it was called that. Now a days, since joining the forum, I have been doing multiple reality checks, and doing some meditation before bed. I also found the DJ helps greatly with my recall.
MILD (and general awareness, causing DILDs)
DEILD
Wake Back To Bed is the best. I think it is the single best thing you can do to improve (or even guarantee) your chances of being lucid.
Spontaneous, randomized awareness and some MILD. :) Going to pick up the WBTB technique now too, since I'm off school for the summer!
Puffin, your beginner's guide to LDing is a very well put together post. I am going to try some of the things I read in there.
