I've heard of vitamins, but I already take some of those, and my dreams still look like Minecraft.
I've tried looking at my hands and touching the enviromnent (sorry for bad spelling), but still nothing.

1. You could try anchoring your dreams into your emotions more. 2. As you become more aware of what you want in waking life, that'll flow into the dreamstate. 3. Also meditating might help push this along, as the mind becomes quiet the senses are heightened. Yea, I'm sounding fortune cookieish aren't I.
Try a variety of methods and see what works. Oh, and I've noticed diet can play a part in dreaming. My dreams are crap after I've eaten a huge meal or a lot of red meat.... which is why I don't eat red meat anymore. However, what works for me may not work for you, so trial and error fellow dreamer... trial and error.
Vitamin B6 can help make dreams more vivid; foods like salmon are full of it, or you could always take supplements. You can also take a few moments every once in a while to simply observe and feel how real everything is around you. The attention you pay to the real world can transfer into your dreams and therefore you'll notice more details and subtleties.
A quick google search gave me this:
Spoiler for long post lulz:
There's some pretty yummy foods on those lists!
Gotta have more rice.
Practicing dream recall is an idea, but that's an obvious one isn't it? Fish is great for damaging your motor skills. Who does't love eating mercury and other oceanic poisons? Using glasses and verbal commands in LD's help with vividness. I've heard galantamine helps with memory support as well as lucid dreams and vivid non-lucids. As far as I can tell, the prescription and OTC pills are expensive. However; it's extracted from the bulbs of galanthus, or Snow Drops, which is cheap and easy to grow. ;D I'll experient with this eventually.
practice visualization and all day awarness
Actually last night I just had my first induced LD (been trying for about 2 weeks now). The only thing I did different yesterday was I drank a glass of apple juice before bed, and I had apple jacks for breakfast instead of the usual cookie crisp or rice crispies. This morning I looked on the label and noticed that apple jacks has vitamins b3 (niacin), b6, and b12 (25% daily value each). As for the dream, it didn't last very long since I'm a noob still, but it was quite vivid, I felt almost total control, and I was highly aware. Try apple juice and/or apple jacks before bed.
I've also been taking niacin before bed over the past month and noticed my dreams are more wild and filled with twists and turns. Just crazy stuff. Not completely sure if it's the niacin or not. With lithium orotate I get really vivid and crazy dreams every time (might be hard to control though). Going to experiment some more later, but for now I'm going to try the apple juice and apple jacks again. I'll let you know if I get another LD tonight.
Also, I noticed being in a location you're familiar with (such as your room, or a friend's house) makes it more vivid because you know and see all the details in your dream (like posters, pictures, carpet stains, a little crack in the wall, etc.). Try flying or teleporting to a location you're familiar with next time you LD.
