Can I still enter REM? (awake long time)

Last night I slept from 2am to 6am (4 hours) and then I was resting/relaxed (awake) for almost 2 hours before I went up from bed.
Now time's about 11:53pm which means I've been awake 18 hours soon.

What I red about, the REM sleep occur after about 4-5 hours of sleep?
My main question is if it matters how long I've been awake for that? If I would go sleep soon (planning to go sleep in maybe 30-90 min), is it possible I'll get into REM sleep instantly? or will I sleep 4-5 hours before?

I'm thinking of trying out SSILD or any technique where I shall have had slept 4-5 hours (so it enter REM early in the sleep, and more chance for LD success?).


I also have a plan of sleep 5 hours each night from now. So if I go bed at 2am, I wake up around 7am.
Then I stay awake maybe a few hours and then trying WILD or something around the daytime.

Any feedback on the idea? I haven't really done it before. I have woken up and tried WBTB lately, but it was quite poor and I fall asleep too fast when I lay down.

And, if I would enter the REM sleep very early when I go to bed soon, how will it be after I've slept about 5 hours? Will I have to sleep more to get into REM again? Maybe I shall sleep longer than 5 hours now, and next night go for 5 hours sleep, and those (3) hours I gain when having nap on daytime when attempting LD.

I slept from 01:30 am to 10:30 am (9 hours). No idea when I came into REM, but I'd a dream that I remember very well, kinda vivid I think.
Next night I think of sleep 4-6 hours, not sure how long.

Lack of sleep generally causes a phenomenon called REM rebound. It's basically a defense mechanism, to get the REM in immediately, in case you get woken up shortly after falling asleep, because REM is the most important kind of sleep. Your prospects are good.

normally after a certain amount of sleep , for the first kind of sleepers its hard to doze back to bed for the other kinds when they go to sleep i have observed that after the nine hour period he has no more dreams "observation" but i have very few knowledge of rem after nine hours of sleep , my good is from 0-9 hour of sleep anything after and i'm done
