Can you get into a lucid dream from your first sleep?

The first night i tried to lucid dream i tried it on my first sleep, i didnt wake up in the middle of the night, i did it at the start. And i experience the Hypnagogic Imagery and the weird sensations and SP etc but when i had the Hypnagogic Imagery my eyes was going crazy, wouldnt stop moving and was going so fast that they had to be opened, so i didnt get into a lucid dream. What i want to know is, if i had kept my eyes closed, is it possible that i would have gone into a lucid dream. Is it possible to lucid dream on the first sleep, without waking up in the middle of the night? Iv read some posts that say no it isnt possible because you only have dreams during REM and others that say yes it is possible and they always do it. So i am really confused, is it possible? could i do it again?

Yes, it is possible, but the quality and duration of your dream won't be as good compared to dreams later that night. Also it's quite a gamble, because you might get into rem sleep quite quickly, but it might take quite some time aswell. If you really wanna do this, try to do it while you have a rem rebound, that would be your best shot. I would recommend to sleep atleast 4-6 hours first, this will make your WILD a lot easier. But yea, you can do it, if it's worth your effort is something else though.

The trouble i have though is i usually go to sleep between 10pm-11pm and set my alarm for about 3.30am, i wake up and either i enjoyed my sleep too much and just go back to sleep or i put my headphones in to listen to some binaural beats or relaxation music and 1 of 2 things happen... I stay in the same position for a while like half hour and then i accidently move so i think fuck man, i have to start all over again and just go to sleep, or i just fall into a none lucid sleep. Since that first night a couple of weeks ago iv had no success. I do really want to accomplish it though.

i would reccomend setting a couple of alarms one for 4 hours after falling asleep, and then one for 6-7 of sleep, and when you wake up just visualise the dream scene that you wish to be in, concentrate on all of the things in detail, While keeping your mind focused on this, let yourself be sucked into this fantasy and you should quickly find yourself there, Reality check and there you go! :)

Yes, it is possible but it will take more effort and a longer time to get into the dream. Then once you are in the dream it will not be very vivid and most likely won't last long. This is why it is better to WILD after sleeping 4-7 hours prior. :)

Just saw a special on tv. They have proven you dream during rem as well as n-rem. Personally I have had several really good LDs at 1:30am having fallen asleep around 12. That would be the first rem period. But it takes a strong trigger, like fear, to trigger my lucidity that early, as I appear to be less aware then.
