"This is a dream."
Hey there. I've had a few lucid dreams the past month, not the first time, but the most in a row. So I read a book called "Oneironautics" to learn some more techniques (spinning was very helpful). I'm glad I found this forum!
I already had a practice of reality checking whenever I saw a feather, of trying to push my finger through my hand.
Here's my question: Is it possible that stating "This is a dream." could be more effective than asking "Am I dreaming?"? You then try to control the environment with a strong intention, and if it works you know you're dreaming.
It's kind of backwards to say "This is a dream." while you're in waking life, but it might be more successful.
Any thoughts?

Hmm... The point of RC's is to question your reality. "This is a dream" is more of a statement, you've reached a conclusion without the question really and sounds to me like the statement: "I'm awake" which we all are taking for granted.
You should try it out though :)

Have you ever heard of anyone mentioning this before? I haven't figured out a way to successfully search for something like it.
If you can change the dream world with only a strong intention, might it be possible to be reality checking every time you say "This is a dream"?
