If you're talking about "waking up" as in "getting lucid", it's very hard. MILD is all about prospective memory, which is a type of memory based on the future, like your intent of becoming lucid when you go to sleep.
The deal about prospective memory is that it's hard to recognize the queue if you don't have aids to help you remembering your intention. That's why it's easier to use MILD with concrete things, like dream signs or reocurrent dream situations (like fear/anxiety) than it is to simply train yourself to wake up at X time. There's a more complex talk about this, but non-related to prospective memory, which can easily be expressed on the situation of many people waking up without alarms. That's something you can try to achieve with CAT
If you're trying to simply wake yourself up, yes, this article can tell you all about the information you're interested :)
I can wake up at any time I choose. Whether or not it is "at the end of each REM", "3 o'clock", or "in two hours." I recommend it to everyone because if you wake up with an alarm clock you don't go through the natural progression of waking up.
Edit: if that is what you are asking. MILD is a way to use intent to lucid dream. I think what you are talking about is just using intent to wake up on command.

Edit: Well, the problem with me with that, is that I pretty much have NO consistency to my dreams whatsoever.
Like, there have been a few times of recurring locations, but somewhat rarely, and they're always representations/misrepresentations of real locations (which of course is a dreamsign in itself, but I don't always recognize it as a dream, though I HAVE become lucid in almost every dream that was a representation of my house, and managed to fly a little in them :) )
But yeah, most of the time I dream, it's a randomly generated location, a place I've never seen before, with occasionally maybe some elements of places I've been for real.
Also, I pretty much never become lucid anymore anyway, though I of course attempt to via MILD some nights.
I was doing AWESOME when I started! vivid dreams every night, actually becoming lucid VERY frequently, with some awesome experiences in there, and actually even WILDing bY accident the 1st night I officially tried WBTB, resulting in an awesome LD I'll never forget.....
....But over time, it actually all went to shit, vividness going down, hardly any lucids, and my recall went to shit for awhile too.
Well, one very obvious potential reason, would be that sometime in there, I stopped journaling. :P
I just got sick of it, basically sitting down for over an hour usually, sometimes even well beyond, writing down literally EVERYTHING I could remember.
Although I actually DO have pretty good recall just on my own, able to remember parts of dreams and actually maintain those memories for sometimes days, just on my own.
And those memories also DO sometimes get stored in my permanent memory too, though they kind of remain dormant in a way and get randomly triggered.
Well, dunno if it's entirely my fault though, our family also ran into some really rough times for awhile in there not so long ago also. :P Things ARE being resolved though.

And well, I dunno, I kind of gave up on DJing anyway as you can read above, also, well with MILD, is it a requirement I only stick to one mantra/intention and nothing else? basically I switch around mantras almost every time, although I think I've kinda lost faith in MILD anyway :( :P
Guess I've kind of been quitting with LDing anyway, although no, I DO still try, but have almost no success anymore.
Okay, when you wake up at the same time every day your mind automatically starts waking you up before it because it is bad to be woken by it. So to start I would just use that as a help. Say you normally wake up at 7, set your alarm to 7:05 and when you go to sleep 7 over and over. After a week you should be waking up at 7. Next try picking a random time in the night, like 3. When you go to sleep think it over and over. You should wake up then after about a week. When you wake up this way it is easier to get back to sleep, so you don't need to worry about it unless you often have insomnia. After a while you should just be able to think "I want to wake up at 4" once before you go to sleep and you will wake up then. Or think "wake up every REM cycle." And you can move onto a different mantra after you get waking at certain time down.Quote:

Also, well 2 conflicting factors in general for WBTB for me anyway though:
A: If I'm awake for too long in any kind of significant daylight, I just CAN'T get back to sleep, that or have a very hard time.
B: If I'm significantly hungry at all, it's also near impossible to get back to sleep (and WBTB attempts haven't always ended up being at ideal hours for a snack).
A: Do your WBTBs when there is no daylight. :P
B: eat before you go to bed and drink water so you will wake up before the morning and have to pee. This will make you do a small WBTB at least, and you shouldn't need food.
