Isn't MILD's mantras too much?
Hey there again. As I've just begun this Lucid Dreaming thing, I have many and many doubts. I try to look around the forum (I've read thousands of threads so far), but some doubts are very resilient. So expect hearing a lot from me for the next few days :p
I've come to realize that trying too hard can be counterproductive to LDs. I've also seen many people around here saying the very same thing, and saying that it is very usual for beginners to have LDs when they take a few days off.
So my question is this (and it may sound a little dumb to more experienced lucid dreamers): isn't MILD's mantras too much? I mean, it is 2-5 minutes saying and thinking the exact same thing. It is for sure a very effortful thing. However, I remember reading in ETWOLD that such efforts went very well with the MILD technic.
Well, that's it. It's something that really got me thinking. How do you feel about this?
WBTB + MILD, how to best combine?
So, analysing the first and only time I had an LD so far, I came to realize that I performed a WBTB by accident. More than that, I can also see it had some more unplanned MILD in it. I woke up, had breakfast, thought about watching the pilot episode of a new series, fantasized a little about the series' content, felt too tired and decided to go back to sleep. Then I had a lucid dream in wich I was a character of the mentioned series.
So I decided that combining WBTB with MILD would be a good starting point for me. My question is whether I should try to perform the MILD when going back to bed in the morning as part of the WBTB, or if besides that I should also perform MILD when going to bed for the first time at night. Do you guys think it matters at all? Or would doing that be too much MILD for just one night?
Thanks a lot, guys.
