Issues with the WILD technique

y0! I have been trying to lucid dream for around 3 or so months now (on and off before that) I am remember a lot of my dreams now (more so then when I began obviously) and I seem to be at a problematic point. By this I mean; I am realising I am dreaming. Well not all the time but for most dreams I do because they are just so crazy there is no way it could be real. Regardless my issue is that I realise I am dreaming but I never think to question it.. what I'm trying to say is: I have no urge to become aware during my dreams. To be honest I don't think I realise I am dreaming but rather It's like I sort of no but yea.. so hard to explain.


^ That is just where I am at with my LD at the moment. Anyone have any advice for me regarding that?

Ok now onto what I really want to know. Like the title says, these questions will be about WILD. It was yesterday that I found out the technique and yesterday night that I attempted it. To make this easier on myself I am just going to list the questions I have: 1) Is it okay to listen to binaural beats while attempting wild? 2) How much am I allowed to move without it resetting the timer? I ask because apart from the random twitches my fingers seem to have (find it very hard to relax my hand on my bed with my palm down) I have a bit of a cold but it wasn't as bad last night. Last night I had some mucus in the back of my throat and I had to swallow extra hard to get rid of it - felt like I was going to choke. Now of course the cold is worse and I have a runny nose. My question is: Does swallowing saliva or bringing mucus back up the nostril so its not on my face reset the counter? Sorry if this might be gross I just want to know.

That is pretty much it for the questions. How much can I move during wild? Are random body twitches (cant stop them) ok ?

To whom it may concern: In regards to my WILD attempt last night .. I don't lol? I really don't know what happened. I was like 30 minutes into it - feeling solid, keeping my brain active. Then I decided to focus on the weird shadows that move under your eyelids and then.. I realised the 2 hour long binaural beats track I put on had stopped. I am almost certain I lost conciousness yes but I just don't understand why I don't know when it occurred or why - I felt like I was thinking about things all the time as to stay awake.

are you doing reality checks? anyways, 1. binaural beats can work but they can also be a distraction.2. if you feel uncomfortable, move. as long as you don't pay too much attention to it, it'll hardly affect anything. as a final thought, its best to attempt wild 5 or 6 hours after you first go to bed, due to the way sleep cycles work, although dild is recommended for beginners. good luck.

If I remember, maybe once or twice a day. What you said is interesting but also the opposite to what I read. What this person wrote was; WILD is when you go to sleep - stay perfectly still for around 30-60 minutes. This will trick your body into thinking its time to sleep and will begin the sleep cycle. You are still awake during this. <--- Is that the WILD technique? Is it too much trouble for you to give me a brief overview of DILD? Do I need medication or something?

dild stands for "dream induced lucid dream" and its where you become lucid from within the dream. the way to achieve it is by performing frequent reality checks, in the hopes that the practice extends to your dream self. generally speaking, doing this will cause you to become lucid and then the world can quite literally become your own oyster, if you so choose. having a dream journal is also recommended, as it will allow you to discover your dream signs, which will offer a trigger to perform reality checks in the first place. on the off chance you don't have any dream signs, the practice will make it easier to remember any experiences you do have.
and yes what you are doing is the wild technique. however, you've got some info muddled. its best not to bother with wild when you first go to sleep, as you can spend upwards of 90 minutes doing nothing but staring at your eyelids. its best to try 5 or 6 hours later. read up on sleep cycles if you're interested in why this is the case. this post is long enough, without giving a science lesson.
finally, if you're a beginner, its best to start with dild. medication is not required.
