Resistant Starch and Dreaming
Hello, I'm highly into ancestral health and nutrition and overall "biohacking." The latest thing that has become viral in that world is something called resistant starch and "prebiotics." Prebiotics are anything that your good gut bacteria feeds off of causing a shift in the right ratios of needed bacteria. Resistant starch is a type of fiber in many forms of raw starches among other things, such as cooled left over potatoes. What's significant here is that the majority of people who have experimented with resistant starch report having dreams all night that they describe remembering like watching a movie. Dream recall and vividness seems to shoot way way up and people remember the majority of their dreams. I have experienced this myself for the most part. This is probably because this shift in the gut microbiome causes the gut to manufacture much more seratonin. And supplementing with resistant starch and other pro and prebiotics can lessen restful sleep in some people if taken too late in the day.
I'm not trying to get into any nutrition advice or discussion here, but I'm interested in the potential of this natural supplement to potentiate lucid dreaming.
I know for myself, I got back into lucid dreaming when I began taking pro and prebiotics. I didn't even need to write down my dreams at first, they were just so vivid.
I recommend doing your own research. Much of the information can be found on freetheanimal.com, but be aware, the author of that blog is very blunt and likes to cuss people out.
