      Resistant Starch and Dreaming

Hello, I'm highly into ancestral health and nutrition and overall "biohacking." The latest thing that has become viral in that world is something called resistant starch and "prebiotics." Prebiotics are anything that your good gut bacteria feeds off of causing a shift in the right ratios of needed bacteria. Resistant starch is a type of fiber in many forms of raw starches among other things, such as cooled left over potatoes. What's significant here is that the majority of people who have experimented with resistant starch report having dreams all night that they describe remembering like watching a movie. Dream recall and vividness seems to shoot way way up and people remember the majority of their dreams. I have experienced this myself for the most part. This is probably because this shift in the gut microbiome causes the gut to manufacture much more seratonin. And supplementing with resistant starch and other pro and prebiotics can lessen restful sleep in some people if taken too late in the day.

I'm not trying to get into any nutrition advice or discussion here, but I'm interested in the potential of this natural supplement to potentiate lucid dreaming.

I know for myself, I got back into lucid dreaming when I began taking pro and prebiotics. I didn't even need to write down my dreams at first, they were just so vivid.

I recommend doing your own research. Much of the information can be found on freetheanimal.com, but be aware, the author of that blog is very blunt and likes to cuss people out.

Sounds plausible, particularly the serotonin angle. If so, one might expect a similar effect compared to 5-HTP. Personally, 5-HTP gives me an upset stomach and none of the positive claimed benefits. I think such is the case for a minority of others. So RS might be an alternative way to stimulate the serotonin effect on dream vividness.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

      Hey Avalokiteshvara

I bought some potato starch today and will have a table spoon in water tonight. I will gradually increase it to the recommended 4 tablespoons a day. They say it brings down blood glucose and increases insulin sensitivity. I'm a late onset diabetic. I will let you know what happens to my sleep and dreams.

Here is what i found when i Googled Potato starch (an easy to take RS (resistant starch)

I’ve done two “cycles” of supplementing RS over the last 3 weeks. The first time was two weeks worth of supplementing in the morning and evening, each, with 2 tablespoons worth of Bob’s PS in water. I experienced awesome sleep and vivid dreams but can’t report on much else besides a moderate amount of flatulence. (...)

Yes, and my wife just began a week or so ago at 2T in water or a bit of milk (...)

... Anyway, I did her drink two nights in a row, she had comatose sleep. I didn’t the third night. Not such great sleep. She asked, how come you didn’t bla bla bla. You have to make it yourself.

So she did. Slept bomb. So now she does it every night.
