Lucid Dreaming to help solve problems?

Just curious, I live with a problem, which i declare to be my "dark secret" without doubt. It bothers me every once in a while and think about it usually daily. But most of the time i dont care all that much, just sometimes i do. Im not breaking down because of it or anything, just one of those things i want off my chest. And its just weird too.

Ive tried thinking of ways to manage it but am curious to see if talking to dc will help.

What are your thoughts? Any advice on dealing with it will be helpful.

First of all, weigh out if it's better to keep the secret or not in the first place. In a perfect world we would all feel free to share anything with everyone while still being respectful... but let's face it some people are down for some things. Are those the kinds of people you really want to be dealing with? If yes... then I would recommend seeking out a group of people (on the side) who can relate to your dark secret. A great lucid dream session can provide some help, but it's too sporadic to use as your main way of dealing with issues. I think worrying about saying things in your sleep though is ridiculous with all due respect. Saying things in your sleep will be taken less seriously by most people than you saying something when shitfaced passed out on the floor drunk.

Good point. I had thought about it. Sometimes i want to just talk to someone but the next moment im like what would it matter, continuing to keeping it to myself doesnt really change anything, why not just not say anything?

Yes, talking to a DC might help. This is because you can say whatever you want to DC's whenever you'd like, and as loudly as you care. And, though they will usually just stand there passively, sometimes they react in curious or helpful ways. So LD's can indeed be helpful, if only as a handy place to vent the pressure from your secret.

I think it really depends on the issue. Lucid dreaming can help with some personal issues but can't do miracles for any situation.

Just curious really, figured it might do something. outside of that. Id probably tell my best friend and thats it, maybe, but it is just really weird lol.

I have found that telling people your weird quirks often to be positive. I've said this in previous threads and I'll keep saying it: Never be ashamed of who you are. Little over a year ago I would tell nobody anything about me, let alone the weird stuff, because I was afraid they would laugh at me. But even since I decided that I don't care what they think and that I want to be the guy that always is true to himself I've started slowly sharing more and more.

There will always be haters, but I have felt the entire experience to be not only liberating but also often very positive. Most people like it when you are different and when you have the guts to be who you really are. And even when facing haters, I have found it to be pleasant to learn to overcome them. It has given me very much self-esteem and I have never felt better! I'm still not done with the process, since I had a million worries when I started out, but I never regret going down this path. And along the way I find more and more people really praising me and even looking up to me for being myself.

So I would say: blast it out for the world to know! Don't care about the haters and love yourself for who you are. Even if it is something you don't like about yourself. If you can accept yourself for who you are now, you can start changing into who you want to become.

(this is of course within certain limits. If you have homocidal thoughts or something like that I'd suggest a professional)
