Materializing objects
So last night I had a LD. I was fooling around with a DC... even though she seemed to real, it felt like a mutual dream but who knows...
She was so good at materializing weapons and "attacking" me, so I tried to do the same... 1st i tried to appear two cannons, one on each hand. When I started trying I felt a huge energy rush in my hands, like I had electricity going through them, it was a crazy sensation! Instead of cannons I got two very lame toy guns. I tried again with a light saber and got a really lame one as well haha
Any advice on how to materialize things???
Has anyone felt the "energy rush" while trying to do it?
Thanks!

I'm a guy who hardly lucid dreams, but you could try transforming another small object into the item you desire. It may be subconsciously easier to transform something than to pull something out of thin air.

This is based on my future plans, not something i've actually tried yet.
You could surround yourself with energy aura first, then make a fast whip with your hand that makes your aura materialize into something.

I just usually think of games lol, I spawned this big LMG in my hand that sadly didn't work or it only shot rubber bullets, I never felt the energy rush though.

Hey there,
Usually, dream control works off of expectation. If you expect that it can happen, it will. If you expect it cannot happen however, it may be hard to get it to work. Unfortunately, our mind has been conditioned to think that 'things appearing out of thin air' is impossible, so summoning something out of nothing tends to difficult for a lot of dreamers.
Find ways to make it less believable for yourself. Telling yourself in a game like Sparkley suggests is a good idea. Reminding yourself you're in a dream and in this dream it can happen, might work. Some people will attempt to pull objects out of pockets, drawers, or 'coincidentally find them' behind a corner. Whatever you can do to 'suspend your disbelief' will help you achieve this dream goal.
Additionally, I find that sometimes it helps to 'ignore' a failure. For instance, if you're trying to summon an object and at first don't succeed, pretend and continued like you succeeded anyways. It often happens that after a little while the dream catches up and you'll find that your pretending has become the real thing. For instance, with your light saber, even though it may be a 'lame toy saber', as you put it. Pretend like it's an actual light saber and tell your dream characters to follow suit. It may just turn into one after a while.
The idea behind that is simple. In dreams, the more attention we pay to something, the more pronounced it tends to get. By focusing on what you 'didn't get', you're reinforcing your failure. By focusing on what you did get and building from there, you strengthen then idea that you have the object in your hand.
Just my 2 cents,

Find the easiest way for yourself to imagine getting the objects you're trying to get. For example, it might be easier for you to imagine being handed a cannon than to imagine one being materialized in your hands.
