Using Music to Control Dreams (New Lucid Dreaming Resource)
Hey guys,
Maybe this will be of interest to someone.
For the past few months I've been experimenting hard with the Anchor WBTB/WILD technique - It's basically where you use sound to help keep you aware during sleep. It's also really useful to help influence the content of your dreams.
You've probably already had that experience, something like when there's a heavy storm and suddenly your dreams are about water, tidal waves etc.
So, the problem with this technique is that there are basically no decent tracks to use for this. Nothing has been written/designed with lucid dreamers in mind.
So, I'm creating "DreamScapes" - audio tracks that are 90 minutes long (in line with a complete phase of the sleep cycle) - each one is themed to try and influence the dream in a particular direction... certain sound effects to create a mood that will *hopefully* transfer to the dream.
I've also included sound cues, specifically timed, simple audio clips that are just strange enough to capture attention without waking you up. To hopefully nudge the mind towards lucidity.
Before you get worried, this absolutely isn't wanky "binaural beats" or "theta wave" nonsense. I've tried to use my years of experience in psychology and lucid dreaming to make these logical and practical recordings—something that's actually useful (for what it's worth, I'm the author of "Are You Dreaming?", so I've been at this stuff for decades now).
Anyway, the first of these tracks is available on YouTube, free to use (obviously) - and I'd love for you guys to try it out tonight or during a nap etc. and report back with how well it works for you. The first track is called "Alien Forest" - basically me being a little bit of a self-indulgent sci-fi nerd at heart... It's one of my personal favourite dream scenes.
It's worked well for me, but obviously it's not a guaranteed "sure thing" as nothing is with lucid dreaming.
The idea is to create a bunch of these, all with different themes - so that you can have a "menu of dreams" and use the tracks to try and influence the style/content of your dreams.
Anyway, I hope some of you find it useful - I'll continue to make these even if they're not all that popular, as I'm really enjoying a more focused way to direct my dreams - and they're enjoyable to make and use.

I'd definitely appreciate your experiences and feedback - obviously try it beforehand!
